Jul 19, 2011what is the theme on the GNOME3 website homepage?

View 3 RepliesI have installed Gnome3 from gnome3-team PPA. Now the desktop has both gtk-2 as well as gtk-3 applications. I have observed that gtk-2 applications use a different theme while gtk-3 applications use a different one. Using gnome-tweak-tool, I'm able to change theme for gtk-3 applications, but I don't seem to be able to find a way to change the theme of gtk-2 applications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm slowly getting used to Gnome 3 and trying to give it a chance. After a few oddities (like it swallowing my Gnome Shell and Tilda invocations because I use Super in them) then I think I'm slowly getting used to it. There are still some things I miss from Compiz, but it has potential and I like some bits (the notifications and dialogs).I don't know what got upgraded, but my themes seemed to be working before yet today I've got the default Sonar rather than my darker Sonar theme with a fixed Chromium style. I've managed to change the titlebar theme, but I can't change the GTK theme or the icon theme.
Running "gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme" reports "Tango-green", but I still have the default icon theme and using Appearances only partially works.Running "gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme" reports "SonarLighter" (the menu bar is lighter to match the Uniq theme) but I'm definitely seeing Sonar.I've tried gnome-tweak-tool from someone's OBS, but various dependencies seem to be missing (first it bails with the wrong GI version, then I updated some other bits and tried again, but even after switching a dozen or more packages then it never started).
I've changed the theme in tweak to 'dust and sand' but I don't get the window frames changing. There's a blue surround that didn't change with the theme change. Also I'm assuming the button layout will revert once the window frames do....Like the gnome3 interface better than unity though.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Debian Testing. My theme is Equinox Light and it was working well except for "Passwords and Encrypton keys" app (Version3.02). That doesn't bothered me. But after todays upgrade from gnome-terminal (2.3.2-1) to gnome-terminal3 Equinox theme doesn't work. My themes are installed in /usr/share/themes folder. It doesn't matter if i copy them to my home theme folder. It seems that gnome3 apps doesn't support
Reverting to previous version fixes the problem but i want to have version 3 with nice theme. Ho w can i achieve it?
I am trying to solve multiple issues with my 64x natty install using gnome3 ppa( official ppa from gnome3). I have this setup on two machines, one is a fresh install the other is a upgrade. They both have most of these issues. Here they are: 1) Nautilus will not launch from the favorites bar. It does launch from a shortcut on the desktop. It will not run from the terminal unless I am root. 2) Number lock is disabled at startup (enabled in my bios). I used to be able to enable after nattty had started, I no longer can, though num lock light is lit - number keypad does not work!
3) I have set gnome3 set to let nautilus draw the background and desktop, I get a white screen at boot until Nautilus is launched then I get a background and some desktop icons(no computer or network icons). If I plug in a usb drive the icon appears on my desktop, when I select it I loose the background and have to select it again.
4) Wireless randomly will drop the connection, have to reconnect, sometimes it will, sometimes I have to reboot. I have Fedora installed on a 2nd hard drive on the machine with a clean install and the only similarity is it displays the default desktop until I launch Nautilus, then my background and desktop are displayed with all of the icons. From there on out Fedora has none of these issues. I have used Ubuntu Gnome and XFCE as my only os since 6.0 and have never had this many problems. Both machines would not run the gdm because of Nvidia issues after the upgrade and clean install. I DO NOT want to give up on Ubuntu as I tell all my friends and family to use it.
Where in God's green earth does ubuntu put screenshots/clipboard related material? I've made like 5 screenshots but am totally unable to locate them. Great Scott! In windows I know where there at!
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, from time to time on login, as my normal theme starts to load, it changes to some sort of silver theme (a very basic one), and I am unable to change it over to any other theme. Checking the theme being used, it still says my desired one is set, but it is not. Also, no matter what theme I change it to, that basic silver theme is the one being used. This includes a default icon theme, not the one I prefer.
The only option that seems to fix things is a restart, and the hope that on this login it won't mess up like before.I am using Natty, from a fresh install, with Ubuntu Classic as my desktop, and have reinstalled things more than once to try and fix a few of the Natty-related issues, but this one keeps coming back.
What does this error mean i try to save it and get this? Irssi: Error saving theme to /home/perlsyntax/.irssi/default.theme: Permission denied

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running 10.04 with compiz under gnome, and I'm having trouble getting my screenshots to capture properly. Currently they only display my wallpaper and not any windows or panels. I tried using the module in the custom settings manager but no key-binds seem to work, well either that or the plugin is failing to load when I initialise it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know in Fedora one can take screenshots during actual installation of the OS with Shift+Printscreen keys on the keyboard and then can access them as root in the folder /root/anaconda-screenshots. So how do I do the same while installing Ubuntu?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed that in screenshots the mouse cursor is included by default, but now I want to take some screenshots without it, how can I do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI run opensuse 11.2 KDE 4.3.5.
I do not have a mac, but I've used one and really like the one feature of the screenshots. Specifically, Command+Shift+3 which saves the screenshot to the desktop without having to open a program or anything like that.
Is there any way to do this in KDE? Ksnapshot is nice, but I'd like not to have to click the button every time.
I've tried the command line Import and it always gives me some X server not configured error or something, so that's not an option.
Is there a way to take a Screenshot with keyboard shortcuts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with crontab that I can't resolve even though I searched the web like crazy. I tried to create a new cron job for taking a screenshot automatically every minute with scrot using "crontab -e" like so...
Code:
* * * * * /usr/bin/scrot ~/screenshots/screen\%G-\%T.png > ~/log.txt
when I run it in my shell it does work fine and it seems to run with cron also because the log.txt file is modified every minute, however when I run it through cron the screenshots don't appear in the screenshots directory and nowhere else either.
Other jobs in the same crontab run very well. It doesn't seem to be a PATH issue because the paths are complete.
I sometimes take screen shots of websites in Firefox. The easiest way is to use one of the many extensions, e.g. Screengrab. However, I have discovered that, when trying to take a screen shot of the entire web page, the lower part of the page is not captured. This happens on WordPress sites and, curiously, on Mozilla's own results pages. Other pages seem to be unaffected. However, on Chromium, it works perfectly.
System: Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.
Firefox: 4.0.1
I want to use gtk-theme-switch to change my theme in openbox (would rather not use any gnome/kde/etc.. tools for this), but after installing it I cannot get it to run:
Quote:
tr@linux:~$ sudo apt-get install gtk-theme-switch

I installed a theme in emerald, and it didn't do anything, like, it had no effect on my windows or anything. So i did some searching and the only thing i could find was to run "emerald --replace" in the terminal, and it worked, but if I exit out of the terminal, it reverts back to the old theme. How do I keep emerald's theme, even after I exit the terminal?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIm trying to use a downloaded theme (from [URL]) om my FVWM window manager, but the theme depends on various programs that isn`t in the Fedora repository. View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated my laptop from F12 to F14 via preupgrade. After doing so, the standard mouse theme was active. So I installed the one I like again and set it as mouse theme. For some reason it is now a mixture of the one I installed and the standard theme. If I open a place in nautilus the displayed symbol is the right one while waiting, if I open something in control center I get the standard icon. Same problem with drag and drop, I always get the hand from the standard theme. I also tried the former standard theme Bluecurve and it was the same problem. Can anyone tell me what goes wrong with the theme? What has changed in F14, that the older themes won't work?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I updated my system a couple of days ago, qpdfview uses a generic theme instead of the Gtk theme. Apparently by adding
Code: Select allexport QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=gtk.
to /etc/profile all QT5 apps should use the gtk theme but for some reason this doesn't seem to work.
Adding -style=gtk to the launcher options works but I want to change the theme setting for all QT5 apps.
i am using opensuse 11.4 and i reinstalled it 4 days before.i have changed the cursor theme, login theme etc.after the reinstall i forgot how to change them.so please tell me how to change cursor theme, login theme, boot splash?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create a script with the command
sleep 3; xwd -root | xwdtopnm | pnmtopng > capture.png
for creating screenshots. But I'm having problems with creating its structure. I'd like it to:
1- Check if there's a capture.png file on /home
2- If there is, check if there is a capture1.png file (and so on, until it reaches a captureNUMBER.png file that does not exist)
If there is not, proceed
3- Take the snapshot after three seconds (so that I can go to the window I want)
4- Create a captureNUMBER.png file at /home
Here's my attempt (I don't know how to automatically change the name of the file, so my first idea was to create keep this structure until capture10.png)
#!/bin/bash
cd /home
if[ -f capture.png ]

I enabled my SysRq key and now can't take screenshots. I have no idea why this happened. I enabled it so that I could have a failsafe way to shut the system down in case of a failure and then this happened.
