I could start with vi and write a php website, but I've no idea what standard frameworks are available for the more rapid development of sites like this. integrating with openid / google accounts etc... what tools are people using to put together these big blocks of drop in functionality and then tieing together with hopefully surprisingly little code? I'm aware of Django to some extent, should I be digging deeper into this?

Red Hat / Fedora :: RAID And Disk Transfer For Copying Contents

I had used DELL 1950 with 300 GB raid disk. Now, I purchased Dell 2950 with 450 GB (6 disk - 3 pairs of raid). I wanted to pull out old 300 GB from 1950 and put it in 2950 (temporarily) to copy all contents to the new system. How do I know which HDDs I need to pull out from 2950 so that I can replace them with 300 GB HDD to mount. I do not know how raid setup (I know unix alone - not raid commands). Is this possible? How to do it?

General :: Read The Contents Of A Physical Disk That Was Part Of A Larger Logical Volume?

Mar 17, 2010

how easy it would be to read the contents of a physical disk that was part of a larger logical volume. The disk contains a "Linux LVM" partition that spans its entire size. My problem is that one of my disks died, and I have to send it back for a warranty replacement. However, the disk is dead, and I can't zero it out. I'm just trying to assess how difficult it would be (or at least how likely it would be) for a tech that's checking out the disk to get at the data.

General :: Ubuntu 10.10 And Command Line Scripts - Error - Android: Command Not Found

Mar 26, 2011

I know my way around MS Windows much better, but I just don't feel right trying to program something for Android on a Microsoft operating system. I am interested in Android programming so I followed the instructions on [URL] to install the environment on my computer...

I just installed the JDK, SDK, Eclipse successfully (or I assume):

* When I get to Step 4 where I'm supposed to run 'android' it will not run. I get the error message "android: command not found" (I am definitely in the right directory).

** When I double-click it in nautilus, it opens up in gedit. I can set the permissions in nautilus (through the properties - Allow executing file as a program) and get it to work,

My system:

Intel i7
Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat
android-sdk-linux-x86
eclipse 3.6.2

Ubuntu :: Is Command Line Invocation Of Gnome-terminal To Run More Than One Command

Feb 17, 2010

how to pass something more than a one-command startup for gnome-terminal. I will give an example of what I'm trying to do here:

Code:

#! /bin/bash
#
#TODO write this for gnome and xterm

[code]....

This same error occurs if the gnome-terminal line is changed to

Code:

gnome-terminal -e mcTerm

Is there any way to pass more than one command on to gnome-terminal? I have tried various single and double quoting senarios and in a final attempt, I abstracted to an exported function all to no avail. Perhaps even though gnome-term is better at many things than xterm, xterm trumps it in this instance.

Software :: Pipeline Data Of Find Command In Array After Processing Contents

find . -maxdepth 2 -type f -name "components.xml" -print | while read obj

Here I want to do the following
1. Store each entry after processing in an array variable.
2. Use this array variables as arguments to function calls.

Here my primary objective is to store the entries from 'find' command in an array. So it is ok for me if I am not creating the log file.

Programming :: Command Line Invocation Of Gnome-terminal To Run More Than One Command?

I am trying to learn how to pass more than a one-command startup for gnome-terminal.

I will give an example of what I'm trying to do here:

Code:
#! /bin/bash
#
#TODO write this for gnome and xterm
USAGE="
${0##*/} [-x] [-g]

However, running with the -g option to invoke gnome-terminal, I get a "There was an error creating the child process for this terminal" error.

This same error occurs if the gnome-terminal line is changed to

gnome-terminal -e mcTerm

Is there any way to pass more than one command on to gnome-terminal?
