i'm trying to watch video on you tube. flash won't work for me anymore in full screen, so i'm trying the instructions from this web page: debian user forums - view topic - howto watch videos with only free software in debian'howto watch videos with only free software in debian'.install mozilla-mplayer, mplayer , the firefox extension greasemonkey and the script videos without flash auto for greasemonkey : videos without flash auto for greasemonkey when i try to watch you tube i get xine that trys to play the video, but it doesn't work. can i change this to use another player, or is that not going to help?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden I couldn't watch movies on Hulu anymore, so I have just upgraded Debian from the Etch to Lenny, because I wanted to update to the newest version of Adobe flash. In Iceweasel under add-ons, it says that I have the newest (10.0 r42) version. The old one (9.0 r124) is still listed. It is listed as disabled, white version 10 is listed as enabled. I still can't watch movies on Hulu.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI installed 64bit flash last week when I installed Ubuntu 10.04 64bit on my new laptop, and for the past week it has worked without issues.
However a couple of day ago it simply stopped showing flash videos on sites such as ..... etc. I think there might have been a ream of updates around the time this happened but my memory is a little vague.
I have since tried installing the each of the 3 flash codecs in turn that Firefox recommends but these will not install, failing with an exit status of 2. After I tried this I followed the 64bit flash instructions on the Wiki once more to get back to the point when it previously worked but alas this has been of no help.
I have also tried loading flash videos in Chromium and these suffer from the same issue. Anyone have any ideas what could have caused flash to suddenly stop working?
i'm running 10.04 x64, with the latest versions of google chrome, chromium, opera, epiphany, firefox, and swiftfox.
strangely, flashplayer works fine in all of them except swiftfox, where it presents a garbled, unclickable video window (tested in videos).
all my other ff addons and plugins seem to work ok in swiftfox, so i assumed that swiftfox is just reading and using everything in ~/.mozilla, including flash. but perhaps not. anyone have any idea why ff's flashplayer doesn't work in swiftfox?
i loaded the YUM suggested by fedora and adobe. the install went well and worked during that time during the next and all restarts after the flash player no longer works infact all websites requiring flash say it si not even installed. I tryed to reinstall it and it said it is already installed and to cancel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Android 2.1 froyo. I also installed adobe flash player 10.2 from the Android Market place. The default web browser on the tablet seems to crash when I it encounters flash that is multimedia like audio and video. It's funny how flash works great with linux distributions and not well in android. Does anyone know which version of android and/or web browser works best with flash so the crashes are minimal.
View 2 Replies View Relatedtitle says ist all: downloaded and installed the current FP-DEB from Adobe and installed it via GDebi.Result: Firefox (3.6.15) doesn't play any videos anymore (shows "need to upgrade...")But: the FP is installed properly, as seen by Opera using it just fine.Any ideas how to tell Firefox where to find it?I have found '/opt/firefox/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so' and I have copied it as '/opt/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so' to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of using flash drives to boot linux image files instead of iso files. I remember reading in the past that booting off USB flash drives were sometimes problematic -- and I don't know if they're still are. I want to know from your personal experience what type and brand of flash drive has work for you in creating a bootable flash image.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust recently instralled CentOS 5.3 and I'm loving it! Not a pro by all means in linux, but i do know my way around a bit (previously used RHEL, Fedora and Ubuntu distros).
As my topic states, for some stupid reason Flash works just fine in Xfce, but when i change desktop environments it comes up with the screen "You need to install Adobe Flash Player 8" or something to that effect. Seriously... the f**k?!
Mind you I only found that by mistake - spent all night reading faqs, blogs, fora etc. trying to get the bloody thing working in KDE - full of obsolete tips and URLs unfortunately (plenty of help running 32-bit flash in 64-bit kernel!). I then changed to Xfce to check something else, and it worked fine, no warnings!!
I have downloaded the recommended NVIDIA driver for my Quadro FX 1400 graphics card which has 256 MB RAM. I have my laptop in a docking station and from the docking station is a DVI to HDMI converter then HDMI cable to my TV (the idea is to use it as an internet TV slave! ). When I come to configuring the NVIDIA X Server, it correctly detects both my laptop screen and my TV via the HDMI connection. However, when I come to save the settings for the X server and go to restart it, it cannot save the configuration file. This is most annoying as it does not allow me to use the dualview I need.
The second problem comes when I use something like the BBC iplayer or anything that uses the flash player. I have the latest flash player with Firefox which works fine in non-full screen mode. However, when switching to full screen, the CPU load jumps to 100% and the playback is really jerky. Had this running the beloved windows XP before and could handle full screen no problems. I have seen a few posts here which show workarounds to zoom in on the small screen on Firefox but would prefer to run it in the full screen mode.
using ubuntu and the corporate edition of open dns? >Im curious to find out how the anti malware filtering works in open dns works.

I use the TV + HDMI cable. Versions tested 32BITS/64BITS (stay with x64) has no disk error. already downloaded several times. MD5 is correct well ... I'll start here with my concerns ... version 9.04 onwards does not work gives blackscreen. I think "forgotten" by the generic drivers for ATI or something that influences the video. it does not show. 9.10,10.04,10.10 none of those versions worked ... on other computers functioned normally. I found researching how to dribble and go to live. and thus unable to install. but does not work after the pc restarts. Linux does not. shows nothing ... goes to black screen with the (- FLASHING) but nothing else happens.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 beta. After installing the flash player, everything worked fine. I installed Boxee on my 64bit install. I had to edit the DEB so it did not install Flash, because Ubuntu still insists on installing the 32bit version which always borks Firefox.
But now I cant run synaptic without getting complaints of broken packages. I just want to blacklist boxee from from annoying the hell out of me, but keep it installed. How do I go about doing that?
I'm trying to load the flash stuff in webpages, but it says i need the flash plugin.
I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.
Did anybody tried installing the latest adobe flash named Square for amd64 systems? I was interested in knowing whether there is any improvement in the performance. I also want to know how to replace my existing 32 bit wrapper based flash on 64 bit browser and install this 64 bit flash.
