Ubuntu Networking :: 11.04 PCMCIA Linksys WPC100 Not Working?

I have a WPC100 linksys network card. I have ubuntu 11.04 installed. My laptop is a D610.
I have done a LOT of google searching and not seeing any solutions on how to successfully get it working.
I have tried the ndiswrapper and it does install the driver but then says "no hardware present".
I have also blacklisted the broadcom drivers.
I am coming to the conclusion that it will never be possible to get the WPC100 to work. (note I also have been to the support page and do not see it there. )

I have a friend with an old, still-working laptop that wants to switch to linux. (Dell Inspiron 7000 PII) I loaded Lubuntu because it's an old machine and has only 512MB of memory. The laptop has no built-in ethernet or wireless. As the title says, he has an EC2T card with it. I've tried to get lubuntu to recognize the card but it's a no-go. I tried the EC2T card on a Windows laptop at my workplace and Windows recognized the card immediately; I was able to surf the web with it.
It looks like at one time it worked with [URL]... and that individual didn't get an answer. Other troubleshooting I've done:I've ran the 'Hardware Drivers' utility and it found no drivers. I tried lspci and the EC2T card isn't listed. I tried a wireless pcmcia card from my workplace and it worked so the laptop's card slot is functioning; lspci does list the wireless card.

Here's the dealy-o. Card is a Netgear, computer says it's a BCM43XG REV01.Card is functional but not working on my fresh Lucid install.Here's what it says:

I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my formerly XP system, and I'm trying to get my wireless network working. I have a Linksys WUSB11 v2.6 wireless adapter connected by USB to the system.
The system networking icon reports "No wired networks".
I'm not sure whether or not the system sees the USB ports... If so, it apparently doesn't recognize the adapter.
I saw a few posts that indicated that this adapter didn't work on 10.04 but it had worked on 9.04.
I'm looking for any info to get this working, including any or all of the following:
* How to determine if the system sees the USB ports (or is it "obvious" that it does)
* Should the wireless adapter work just by plugging it in?
* How to troubleshoot the networking adapter to get it working
* (If downgrading to 9.04 is likely to solve the problem) how to downgrade to 9.04 from 10.04...

The Linksys USB Wifi Adapter (WUSB11 v2. does not work with UBUNTU.
I am using UBUNTU DESKTOP 64-bit (x86_64) 10.04, but I think it is not working in the 32-bit version as well.
I really love to get my Ubuntu work with my 64-bit hardware....

I really need to get a linksys wpc54g version 4 pcmcia card to work....i have never really had a lot of problems with wireless and thit is a friends laptop that he wanted ubuntu on......if i cant get it to work he will go back to windows and i would not like that to happen lol....here is the output of dmesg and ifconfig lspci and lspcmcia..

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick on a Toshiba 2435-S255 laptop with a WPC54GSV2 PCMIA wireless-g adapter. I have ndiswrapper installed, and installed the driver (I know it works because it's the same driver I used with Win XP). When I type sudo ndiswrapper -l it tells me this:

I think I am supposed to blacklist something but I don't know what. I added b43 to blacklist.conf and that just took away the wireless connections in the network connections. In the Device Manager under CardBus Bridge it has Network Controller and info.linux.driver's string is ndiswrapper. I wanted to uninstall the driver to see what the Device Manager would show but I don't know the name of the driver. I did sudo ndiswrapper -r 14E4:4318 and it just said there was no driver by that name.

I'm not a new user to ubuntu but I'm stuck with a driver issue on a wireless adapter upgrade for ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx. I'm running an acer aspire am1201-e1622a with amd athlon x2 64 bit processor, however i'm only running the 32 bit version of lucid lynx. The following are a few outputs of some commands that might assist in finding the proper driver. Before though i will tell you what i have done.
I have installed a few different drivers from windows wireless driver installer such as the xp and vista 32 and 64 bit versions with no success in the computer actually recognizing that i have a wireless adapter installed. The windows wireless driver installer said that hardware was present but i was unable to scan for networks or even see that i had a choice to do that. This meaning that it didn't show i had wireless capabilities in my network manager. i tested this with gnome network manager which is the default manager for 10.04 and also with wicd with no success.
Following these tests i attempted to install a driver from source following the instructions on another forum. This allowed me to manually turn on the wireless adapter but i was still unable to find any networks. This meaning that wicd was able to see that i had a wireless adapter installed but it for some reason was unable to see any wireless networks around. I'm 100% sure my router is in range and that it is configured correctly. I have 5 other computers connect to this router along with some of them being ubuntu.

I do not know why it is not assigning it an io address. I should also add that the parallel port is enable in the bios with the default address of 0x0378. I have also tried modprobe parport parport_pc and parport_cs and ppdev, still nothing.

I am using a Linksys wpc600n wireless card that works fine in windows xp, but will not even power on in ubuntu. I tried to use the pccardctl command to get the card to turn on but it still does not turn on.

some time ago I installed 8.10 on my x20 thinkpad. I at the time was trying to get it going on a Netgear WG511 v2 card. I was eventually successful in getting it going with ndiswrapper and all has been happy until...
I decided to give my laptop to an elderly friend for his first computer. He is living in a location where (for a variety of reasons) he is sharing a network connection to the internet with a few people. The protocol there WPA2 TKIP (IIRC) and no matter what the bloody thing won't connect. Here at home I run a different setup so its not a big deal
So, I thought I'd try another card to get it going there. I chose a "Aironet" card (badged a Dell 4800 LT) and tried to install this on 8.10
I expected it would install out of the box, but did not "seem to".
I followed the steps on this page, but still it won't connect to my WiFi at home (which I am using to connect to with this x31 thinkpad)
I am using Network Management Applet 0.70 and this works fine with the Netgear card, even showing all the local networks it finds.
When I plug in the Dell card it blinks the activity light and the status light in seemingly meaningful ways, but nothing seems to connect and I find nothing listed in the Network Applet.
I suspect that the OS is discovering the card as when doing an iwconfig I find two entries that would be that card:
eth1 and wifi0
iwlist scan returns:
which makes me think two interfaces are taking the same hardware...
iwconfig returns idential results for eth1 and wifi0

Just completed installing Xubuntu 9.04 to my old Dell Latitude CPi and it seems to be working quite well. However I need to assign interface eth0 to my pcmcia network card (as opposed to eth1 or eth2). I have two cards to try out. One of them comes up as eth1 and the other as eth2. There is no eth0 listed when I run ifconfig -a. There is no built-in network cards on the laptop, so I don't know why it won't assign eth0 to either of the cards.

I got the WMP300N installed by using ndiswrapper, but in Network Settings in YaST, I enter in all the info, and it will not connect. I set the Module Name as ndiswrapper, but it still won't connect. I blacklisted bcm43xx as some guide told me to. Could that be the problem?

The usb device scans in Windows with a driver but i can't find a linux driver so i installed ndiswrapper.
ifconfig does not list the wlan0 device. iwconfig lists wlan0 YaST2 doesn't find any networks. Ethernet works just fine.

I just purchased a RALINK WIRELESS G PCMCIA WIFI CARD VISTA/LINUX (UBUNTU).
It is supposed to be UBUNTU plug and play out of the box with no driver downloads needed.
I installed it but could not find a way to search the active Wi-Fi networks available like on my Actiontec card on windows xp. The wireless router/ethernet I have is an Actiontec setup for Qwest-DSL and Actiontec is the name of the wireless network.
Strangely I tried to choose setup a "new network" and entered Actiontec as the network name and it found the network and said it was connected to it. However the internet still is not working?

I'm trying to install two devices...one at a time. o far I've had zero luck with either.
1. ViewSonic VS10259 PCMCIA Wireless 802.11G PC Card Adapter.
2. Broadcom BCM94306MP REV 4 Internal Wireless Adapter.
I can't get either of these installed on an old Dell Inspiron 8500. I'm really an absolute beginner with this...I've installed the newest Ubuntu on this machine and am trying to get it to connect to the internet, but am clueless. Sorry if this should be posted in absolute beginner. Don't want to double-post.

I'm using a Kohjinsha SR6 and trialling the ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix from a USB stick before taking the plunge. I have an Emobile D01NX adapter for internet, but I simply can't get it to work even though e-mobile is in the Japan mobile broadband options in network connections (maybe for some of their USB adapters?).
running lspcmcia -v gives:

I looked up this issue on the Japanese Ubuntu forums (here) and what I gather is that there is some sort of technical issue with the translation chip (Elan VMB5000?) but that the Sharp Zaurus (link), which runs on a linux variant, has a driver out for my specific device (here). This may be the answer I'm looking for, but unfortunately my linux ability is largely limited to using the GUI and a few basic text commands so installing or modifying the files is way beyond me.

I finally got around to trying Ubuntu 10.04 on a "decommissioned" Dell Inspiron 8100 1.2Ghz P3 512MB RAM 40GB HD... and Ubuntu is absolutely AMAZING compared to Windows! I'm a Mac guy and honestly Ubuntu gives 90% of the Mac OS GUI and 0% of the "brain damage" of WinBLOWS...
The only thing missing in this laptop is WiFi which I want to do via one of the PCMCIA slots since the mini-PCI is a combo 10/100 network + v.90 modem card... and I need to keep the Ethernet port and fax modem capabilities.
What are the best "Plug n Play" PCMCIA WiFi cards for our "G" and "N" WPA2 ONLY Airport Express WiFi network? I'm new to Linux so I'd really like to avoid editing and replacing system files and drivers if possible to get a PCMCIA card working. I'd also like a card that works in WinXP Pro SP3 since this laptop is dual boot capable.

Any opinions on which of the PCMCIA wireless cards work the best out of the box? I currently have a USB wireless adapter but want to get rid of it and use my PCI slot on the laptop. I am currently running lucid. I would rather not have to mess around with NDISWRAPPER again, something that has a native linux driver would be great.

I have just upgraded to 11.04 from an earlier version and most things are working better, if a little slower. Had to remove pulse audio to get any sound. Wifi with Edimax 54G Pcmcia card used to work fully, but now only works on mains, not on battery.Suspected power management but iwconfig shows it is off.Dmesg revealed that the driver had crashed in rt61pci.

Older laptop I just upgraded to FC13. I would like to use a Dlink DWL-650 pcmcia card. The system sees it.

ifcfg-wlan0 is set for DHCP. Notice above no IP. If ifcfg is given an IP/mask still no IP. So it seems to be up and running, just not accessible.

I just joined this forum in hope of fixing my linksys wireless card, here is my problem. I have a old Compaq presario 1710sb laptop with a p1 32mb ram and a 2GB hard drive. I installed a Debian Lenny command line only install, I installed ndiswrapper from a etch .deb file I found on the internet but I can't find out how to get it working. I tried how tos on other sites but they didn't work, I need to get that card working before I can install a GUI.

I read through the sticky of wireless card not working, and I followed through with the steps, with the exception of looking for firmware, because I'm certain it has it, being that the card works when I'm running Windows, and overall the system recognizes the device.
The only difference is, I notice that the activity light on the card itself does not turn on when running openSUSE. It recognizes the card, it even detects the network, but when I enter the WEP key and finish, it does nothing afterwards. Still no internet.
