First time I opened a ram file I choosed the default player, Reproductor de peliculas (I think Movie player in english).Now when I choose Open with Realplayer and remember the application for this extension it opens the archive but it does not remember for the next times. It seems to be a little bug. How can I do it manually? Where is the association config file for file extensions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to play a video file on my pda(Tungsten T5) but from memory the only video file i have seen playable on it was the asf file that is used when it starts up/reboots. I tried other file types in the past that were suggested in maybe a manual or forum or something but they never worked/played. I think it is because of the player installed and i tried installing another player but from memory that didn't install properly or just did not play anything. So if anyone knows of a way to convert files maybe using winff or mencoder i would love that info. I have been googling and have found nothing specific to what i am asking. I do not see anything in winff to convert to asf and cannot remember ever using mencoder.

Obviously, this takes a file named a and makes a file named 01 that is an mp3. It works great and I have used it many times. The problem is, I would like to rip the audio from several files all at once. I am sure there is a way to do it but I haven't stumbled upon the way to do it.
I have a dell precision m4300 laptop with a 360 wireless bluetooth dell adapter On my system there is a debian lenny with kde3 and backported enable(everythings is p to date except bluez-utils and bluetooth holded at version 3.36-3)
Nowadays bluetooth more less works fine, I can send and receive single file to/from my phone (nokia n70)
The hell begin when I try to browse my phone files from konqueror...with bluetooth:/ I can see the list of all the device near me with sdp://[address]/ i can see two icons (obex file transfer & obex object push)
but I cant see or access to any file or folder into the phone.
I also try to update my bluez-utils to 4.60-1~bpo50+1 but in this case kbluetooth totally fail and a see the contextual menu of the system tray icon all disaled.
I downloaded three iso-images, 1 dvd-image and 2 cd-images:

Being paranoid, I created iso-files from the burnt DVD-R and the two burnt CD-R to verify integrity.
The iso-file of the DVD-R was identical to the downloaded image. Both iso-files created from the CD-R were different in size.
The original size of openSUSE-11.3-KDE4-LiveCD-i686.iso is 719.323.136 Bytes.
I only got 718.938.112 Bytes when recreating an ISO-file from my CD-R.
The CD-R is from Sony. When the length of my ISO-file doesn't correspond to the downloaded one, the checksum file verification doesn't work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been happily using Ubuntu One for a few weeks now, synching some files and notes.
Today I inadvertently clicked another folder to 'synchronise with Ubuntu One'. This was a 500mb folder containing work and personal files which I'm not ready to rely on the cloud for.
I must admit I panicked a bit as I attempted to stop the synch. I deleted the entire folder (got it backed up on an external hd) and the synch stopped. I then logged in to the U-One website and deleted the folders and files it had uploaded by that point.
When I restored the folder from the ext hd it started to synch again. This time I removed my machine from the U-One preferences and eventually cancelled my account.
I have now restored that folder under a slightly different name so it doesn't try and synch it.
Meanwhile I've re-started my U-One account and have added my machine so it appears on the webpage. I've uploaded a file via the website. I've also been able to successfully synch Tomboy notes in both directions.
However, I can't synch files with my Home/Ubuntu One folder. I've attached screengrabs of the three tabs in U-One Preferences which show 'disconnected'. If I click 'connect' on the Devices tab, it simply greys out and nothing else happens.
Files in my Home/Ubuntu One folder all have the Unsynchronized emblem against them (a cloud with a cross in a red circle). code...
I'm interested in learning how to start a wireless connection via the terminal rather than the NetworkManager applet. Every resource I've found on this subject talks about how you need to make a .conf file, then use wpa_supplicant. Is there a way to establish the connection without having to a create any file whatsoever? What are the steps for establishing the connection?
From what I've read, establishing a WEP connection is as simple as calling iwconfig and then dhclient. Are there similar steps for WPA2?
I am trying to upload some pics on my Facebook account using Firefox. When I click on Facebook's file upload icon, Firefox bring up a 'File Upload' window. I noticed that smaller image file is previewed on the lower right hand corner, while bigger image file is not. Currently if I want to file share I have to go into the network manager and change the eth0 settings from shared to dchp automatic and then unplug the cable from the internet port on the router to one of the network ports. Is it possible to add another network card to the main machine and use that exclusively for either internet or file sharing.

1. Windows Printer via Samba printer is missing under Add-->Network Printer in the printer utility (system-config-printer 1.2.3, same one as in standard Ubuntu) I'm guessing I need to install some samba related packages that standard Ubuntu includes by default, but which ones?
2. To access network disks in standard Ubuntu, for example your pesonal space, you select Go-->Location in Nautilus and enter an address of the format smb://something.university.domain/resource. How can I access such locations with PCManFM?
I have Ubuntu Server 9.10 and Windows 98 client. I already installed samba in ubuntu so that windows 98 can access shared files from ubuntu. When I ping both their ip address there is a reply. Ubuntu Server can see shared files from Windows 98 but Windows 98 cannot see Ubuntu Server through Network Neighborhood and their is an error " Unable to connect the network". What are the possible things to solve this problem?

What directory do we put the php.ini file? and do we just use the php.ini-dist file that was downloaded during install rename it php.ini and add under dynamic extensions extension=pgsql.so?
Believe that php.ini should go under
/usr/bin
directory, because that is what we type when running php script
/usr/bin/php some_script.php
I have an ubuntu fileserver and an ubuntu laptop both running 10.10.For some reason I can't connect to the server (file or remote terminal) from the laptop, even though I can access ssh through terminal on my mac and have been able to mount the filesystem on another computer running the ubuntu liveCD. I just get the error 'no route to host'.I've tried turning off the firewall on the laptop and re-installing ssh on both computers, but I don't have a clue what to do next!

I've created a file in the home directory called "Public" and set it to be shared with everyone, basically a chmod 0777 situation. Now, how do I connect, or map out that folder from another ubuntu 11.04 machine? I know how to do it in Windows, just hit "run" and type in "\server" and blamo, I can see everything that's shared on that machine. I can't figure out how to do this with Ubuntu.
