with Vlc & mplayer we have to install libfribidi0_0.20-1_i386.. to make arabic subtitle work fine.But If you running AMD64...You have to force this page to installed.

My video I want the watermark over is a kino captured file which is dv avi type 2 (open dml).I have done Bluescreen video effect along with the composite transition but the video clip which the video watermark plays on top of ends up getting darker. for the bluescreen color i have chosen red which is the closest red i could pick next to the spinning logo. the lighting changes on it and gives it an undesirable effect as far as how dark it it. i tried other colors but then the logo either disappears or the spinning logos black video background covers up my video. the reason for my "video" watermark is because it is a spinning logo (not a picture) which can be obtained in .mp4 format here:[url]
My goal is to put that on top of some xbox 360 modern warfare 2 gameplay. i haven't uploaded an example of how dark it makes the footage look yet but it does.
I used Ubuntu 10.10 (64 bit) on IMac i7. As far as, I remember, after installing Pulse-Audio Equalizer, for each restart of the system, after login screen, system sets volume to maximum value. What can I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.

Now I want to rip this DVD but all the rippers I tried return a error at that point when they try to rip it. Rippers I tried:
- dvd::rip
- FFMPEG
- Acidripper
- Avidemux
Now I want to know ain't there a ripper which can read over these errors and still make a decent rip?

This is a recollection of my experience using Microsoft Surface Pro 3. I am running Debian Jessie RC1, using the latest linux kernel (as of now, 3.19).
Assume that everything works, except:
- grub2 does not allow to select menu entries without TypeCover/USB Keyboard (Ubuntu had a popup software keyboard in the live CD)
- there is no "right button click" on the touchscreen. Most interfaces use a long press as a right click.
- the touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive, especially when plugging/unplugging the TypeCover;
- cameras don't work (although there is a fix)
- wireless card works 80% of the time only (but the newest marvell firmware from github solves the problem)
- secure boot does not work (need to disable that from the boot menu)
- touchpad gestures don't work (e.g. two fingers scrolling - this is particularly puzzling, as Ubuntu 14.10 live had the touchpad working (including two fingers scrolling) but not the TypeCover)
- touchpad and touchscreen scrolling do not work in certain applications (e.g. in Iceweasel one needs to install an add-on)
- pen works (even when the touchscreen is unresponsive), but only one of three buttons work (with xournal)
I am trying to get the forward and back buttons on my Logitech Surface mouse working in openSUSE 11.2 running as a guest in VMware Workstation 7 on a Win7 x64 Pro host. I have read many places about editing the xorg.conf file and have done so successfully under Ubuntu in the past. I have successfully installed VMware Tools and everything is working as expected except the side buttons on the mouse. I have no current xorg.conf file

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Xfce 4.8, which now provides built-in samba browing in thunar. This works like a charm. I can browse a samba share (external HD connecter to router via USB). Yet it appears to me now that the support is limited to thunar. I mean double clicking on a file allows me to open/edit that file if and only if the software itself has samba support. In practice, double-clicking on a movie opens it with vlc thanks to vlc's own smb support. Even then, I can't find a way to add the subtitle file. I reckon that to use the share transparently, I would need to mount it the "mount" way. Either on a mount point like /mnt/hard_drive or something like .gvfs/hard_drive.
Is my understanding correct ? Is that my only option? Considering the disk won't be switched on at startup, fstab is not the solution. Would gigolo be the right choice? I spent some time trying gigolo a few days ago, following an easy tuto found on the web and it didn't work as expected. If needed I could give it another try.
I'm using Handbrake 0.9.5 for encoding and I'd like to add a "hard-subtitle" to a video : the subtitle has to be a part of the video. I've seen on makeuseof.com that we could hard-sub a video thanks to the "Forced only" option. On Ubuntu 10.04 amd64, I don't have any checkbox for this option while importing SRT file. I've got the checkbox for "subtitles" I add by clicking on the "+ Subtitle" button, but it seems to be useless (I had a video_name.srt next to my video_name.m4v video file to re-encode). Is Handbrake now supporting only soft subbing ?
View 14 Replies View RelatedUsing Ubuntu Maverick and Totem, DVD playback has a slightly shaky picture and a little static at the top and bottom of the picture. Also, top level menus sometimes don't display, or the menu displays but movie won't play, or just nothing happens when trying to play a DVD movie. This problem is happening on two completely different boxes with clean installs. DVD playback seemed OK on Kubuntu and Xubuntu 10.10, as was OK on 10.04. Is this a known issue? And if so, is there a patch?

and I visit a site with graphics, still image or ....., I get a screen overlay of the website image positioned near top left of my monitor which overlays its graphics on top of windows of other applications. Interestingly, when I kill chrome the image disappears, then reappears on re-launch of chrome. Somehow chrome is controlling the rendering of its video memory, from killed tabs, outside of its own window.
This I have seen for firefox as well. Its been happening for few months, not on every browser launch but daily nonetheless. The video corruption also prevents mouse cursor cut N paste of text on any application which happens to have its window overlayed in this manner.
I have all the latest updates

screen captures of offending overlay do not show up, though I could photograph my screen if need be. Have stopped using beta chrome daily builds, now using default google chrome to verify whether symptoms disappear.
I see no apparent errors in system log or X server log
I just recently installed Lenny 5.04 on my computer and when it comes to the desktop the top and bottom bars seem to be set for a lower resolution. They only go about a third of the way across the screen and if set to be at the bottom the bottom bar is only a third of the way down the screen. The logon window fits this format but most other things go full screen (games don't though).
What is it I need to change and as an aside how do I change the screen resolution if I want everything bigger (so I can read it with my old eyes)
I was working just find and the "Computer" GUI that is located on the panel that lets you have access to all CPU options went missing.. I understand I can hit F2 and get them listed but I need it back on my panel strip at the bottom of the desktop!
