Ubuntu Multimedia :: Adobe Flash Player Not Working On PBS Kids Sprout?
Mar 29, 2010
I just started using Ubuntu and I have 2 grand kids that love PBS Kids Sprouts. The Adobe Flash Player will not work for me on this link. I have loaded the latest version 10 and I am using Firefox as a browser. I have the Nvida chip set on my video card...
why my adobe flash player is not working in ubuntu. i have installed it many times with synaptic manager and even reinstalled it but it does not work at all.
i have tried to install adobe flash player on fedora 14 but wjen i check if it is installed i can't watch any videos on videos.....i have rebooted but nothing happened, also i trtructions and nothing happened neither.finally i tried a command [codesu -c 'yum install nspluginwrapper alsa-plugins-pulseaudio flash-plugin]
but it tells me that there it is on the latest version and already installed.......
I'm using Fedora 13 and have the Adobe Flash Player installed. Some websites I view tell me that I need to install the flash player to view or listen to the content?? How do I get the flash player to work?
I have Fedora 13 installed on my laptop, which has got Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 preinstalled I cannot play any videos on my brwoser, available in ......com. I tried installing the Flash Player. And pasted the "libflashplayer.so" file inside /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. But still I am not able to play any video. Still gets the same message that, "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. ".
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
It should be easy, but Adobe's page for Linux downloads has a choice of about five different downloads. I tried one and it gave me some files I don't know what to do with. I do already have Flash on my computer, which I got from the Ubuntu software centre, and it works for most things but some things tell me I need a newer version.
I want to install flash player plugin for my Mozilla firefox in terminal, so that I can watch video, what kind of command that I must type in terminal?
I can't get the flash plug-in to work properly. I am running Ubuntu 9.10 x64, which I think might be the issue. It seems to be able to run flash games and videos etc. but it won't let me interact with it. So if I want to pause the video, I can't or if it doesn't automatically start, I can't watch it. With games, it runs, but I can't click on it at all.
After the most recent Firefox update (3.6.6), Flash video has stopped working. I have the Flash player plugin from Adobe (adobe-flashplugin version 10) and it is not working. I have tried uninstalling it and installing the flashplugin-installer package instead, that did not, so I reinstalled the adobe-flashplugin package and still have nothing. All using synaptic package manager.
More specifically, flash videos do not show up at all: ....., anything: just a blank spot on the screen.
I have a Dell OptiPlex 755 DT almost 3 years old. I did install Ubuntu 10.10, no problem. Everything I working except for one small issue. When I try to show video on flash full screen, then the picture gets small and freeze, the computer still works fine, but the video freeze. The same gos for Facebook games on full screen doesn't work,, computer doesn't freeze, I can click anywhere and get back to normal.

I'm an happy new user of Ubuntu 11.04, and I wasn't able to get Adobe Flash Player 10.XXX.normally released for Ubuntu versions up to 10.04. Anybody can help this newcomer to linux world?
A couple of the sites I go to, very professional and legit sites, tell me I need Adobe flash player. Now that I don't run anything with Ubuntu other then a FW is this safe? What about "NoScript" for Firefox?
i am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."
I have a Ubuntu(64-bit) installed on my PC. I am new to Linx and as that there are several versions of adobe flash player (such as YUM, .rpm, .deb) available for 64-bit Linux. I want to know that which version is suitable for 64 bit Ubuntu so my browser wiould be able to run the ..... videos.
recently updated to the 11.04 version and am not able to view ..... videos etc as it says i need to install the version of adobe and whenever i go to the adobe website and try to install through ubuntu software centre it says Wrong architecture 'i386'.
I am on Linux Mint, and I can't figure out how to install Adobe Flash Player. When I tried typing the following, sudo apt-get Install flashplayerplugin-nonfree..It says that everything was installed, but when I go to ..... and other video sites, the flash player won't work.
Does anyone know the correct procedure for upgrading Adobe Flash Player. I just installed Linux Mint Debian and noticed that my flash plugin is the old Shockwave Flash.
I've tried downloading the latest Flash Player from adobe. I unzipped it, and moved libflashplayer.so to where I thought the plugin directory was.
My main problem is that I don't know where to look for the plugin file. I tried /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but as much as I played with the 'libflashplayer.so' file there, I could neither remove the plugin nor upgrade it. I've also tried the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory but once again, I was unable to affect the plugin.
I installed Debian Wheezy on an external server. For my purpose I need to install a graphical interface with the following command
Code: Select allsudo apt-get install gnome-core xorg iceweaselNext I need to install xrdp to connect to the server via Remote Desktop Connection. Code: Select allsudo apt-get install xrdp
After that I installed Oracle Database 12c. It was a bigger effort to get the whole system going than initially supposed. As far as I can see it is working now. Finally to use Oracle Enterprise Manager in the Iceweasel Browser I also need to install the flash player. After modifying the sources.list I did that with the following command
Code: Select allsudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree.It installed successfully. Now I started the browser unfortunately it is not working perfectly. Typing in the URL of the Enterprise Manager I can see the site, but there is no text!!! (see the attached picture)
I can't import the key, can anyone tell me why or what i'm doing wrong? I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player and am trying to follow the instructions below....
I installed Fedora 13. It seems, i can't use Adobe flash player, although i have install it. I cant look at movies from dvd and it seems the Empathy also don-t work. It shows i am available, but don't sows me my contacts. I want to use msn messenger.
I installed the player from both the Add/Remove Applications and downloading with install when asked by Firefox, but neither option works. It shows as installed but Firefox keeps asking me to install it whenever it needs it.
Just a little question about installing the Adobe Flash Player. I downloaded the Flash Player library in tar.gz format directly from Adobe. I want to install it in the default plug-in directory for Opera, which is /usr/lib/opera/plugins. When I try to copy the file, I get an error saying that I do not have the sufficient permissions to copy a file to that directory. Does anyone know how to copy the file using the command line, using the SUDO command?
i've just installed ubuntu and loving it so far. i've just tried to access videos and have been prompted to install adobe flash player - which i am finding impossible, do i download the apt or .deb file, i've tried both and i just dont understand how it works.
I'm new to Ubuntu and I'm learning this new OS. Using 10.04 Desktop Edition Ubuntu. I want to install adobe flash player on this OS tried every thing present to solve this problem of mine on this forum but couldn't get it. Its giving me this error:

When using anything that involves flash on google chrome, often the flash player crashes going black with an unhappy jigsaw piece inside. it also struggles at handling multiple tasks in different tabs. i know that adobe flash player is not designed for ubuntu, and will not run at optimum level, but i would like to know if anyone has done or knows anything that will make it more stable/quick.
