I am looking for a more up-to-date notes manager than NoteCase notes manager, I like the hierarchical(outliner type) but am open to suggestions.I would like to be able to export into a standard text format.I have tried BasKet Note pads quite nice but doesn't export into standard text.
Can anyone tell me what names the tomboy notes application gives to its notebooks and notes? Not the file format (xml) I found that on the web, but the filenames and directory where it stores things.
I'm getting a "Server Error Something has gone wrong (500)" when i try to access the notes page for several days now. When will it be OK?

My professor uploads presentations in PDF form but I'm not sure how to add notes to the slides using Ubuntu. Does anyone have any preferred applications.
I am trying to get Notes to run on Ubuntu 9.10 karmic x64 and haven't had any luck. I started off by following the steps from the following location [URL] This didn't work and I had the symptoms listed below. I then looked at the following guide and did all the steps that were not on the above link: [URL] However I still had the same issue. So the symptoms:
1) I don't see notes in the apps->office menu, but I am able to start it via:
cd /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/framework ../notes
2) I get the login window and am able to go through the setup (pointing to the notes id file, and my domino server etc). However at the end of it all, no GUI is displayed. Even though lnotes shows up in the running processes.
3) In the terminal window I get the following error:
My laptop has 10.4 and desktop has 10.10.My HD is damaged due a power surge. However, I was lucky to access my ubuntu home directory. How can I move my Tomboy notes from my laptop to desktop.
I'm trying to delete all of my notes on the server. I've gone to "Notes" (along the top bar) and deleted them one by one. It now says, "You have 0 notes. Get setup!". Going back to "Dashboard", I see:
Files 0 bytes Contacts 0 Notes 6.
I'm deleting all these because when I connected to the server, it got confused and started downloading from the server when it was supposed to be uploading from my machine. That caused me a bit of panic, you might imagine. How can I make sure this doesn't happen again??
How to sync notes to Dropbox, but after the upgrade to 11.04, I can't get Tomboy to sync.
I get the same error as here: [url]
Where the details panel is blank.
But I don't know what hidden file he's talking about. When I press ctrl+h in all the Tomboy folders, nothing comes out, but there are a few manifest.xml files.
I tried to install Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (deb package) on Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit. Unfortunately, Lotus is not able to complete the installation! I googled and I found a guide on IBM forum (but for 10.04 release) and on [URL], I installed required dependencies (ia32lib, all getlibs, ecc) but I am not able to continue the installation. I tried to install in different Ubuntu release. Here a summury:
- Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit: Lotus Notes and FP2 install and works fine - Ubuntu 11.04 32 bit: Lotus Notes and FP2 install and works fine (also in Unity environment) - Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit: Lotus Notes cannot install.
I have a friend who has a Windows system and he has a cool Widget (I think they are called) that allows him to type notes which permanatly stay on his desktop. Does Ubuntu have something like this?
I would like to keep my Tomboy notes synced between my home computer and the LiveUSB I'm using at the classroom. I used to sync them to Ubuntu one back when I used Ubuntu, but now that I'm using Fedora their server doesn't seem to respond. Is there a way that I can sync the notes, either using Ubuntu one or any other solution?
After a prolonged absence, version 4.10, I have started dabbling with Ubuntu again. It was a HDD crashing that sent me down this path. Needless to say, the ability to backup my user data to a second HDD is an important task to me. I'm currently using Back in Time to accomplish this and all is well. However, there is one thing missing. I can't locate my Tomboy Notes data within the file system. I expected to see a "hidden" folder in my /home, but do not. Where this information is stored so I can back it up as well?
Is there a way to make Tomboy Notes startup in the background when Ubuntu is lunched? I added the command "tomboy --search" to startup applications and whenever Ubuntu starts, Tomboy Notes opens the [Search All Notes] window.
In the previous Ubuntu version, I used to use the Tomboy Notes applet from (Add to Panel) and it used to startup without opening any windows. This method still work on Ubuntu 10.04, but I liked the new icon for Tomboy Notes that appears in the status bar.
I use Windows XP and Ubuntu 10.04 using Dual Boot in my notebook, but the company that I work support just the Windows XP. I work with Lotus Notes on Windows and I wish read nsf file on Ubuntu. As long as I know I should by Lotus Notes license for linux.
I want a software just to read nsf file in order to can see my e-mails storeds. Anyone knows some program for read nsf file?
I was still using Ubuntu 9.04, and I decided to upgrade up to 10.04. Upgrading to Karmic was no problem but then I tried to upgrade to Lucid and I always get the message "Can't download release notes", I also cannot upgrade from the command line (is 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' discontinued?). I've tried several mirrors during the last couple of days but still I can't get it to work.
I cannot find where tomboy notes are located im trying to change from one comp to another, i have already seen the thread that says they are in ~/.tomboy ".note" files but they are no where to be found and neither is that file?
Running Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR) 10.04 with LibreOffice 3 from the PPA.
I'm trying to view a PPTX file. The presentation has notes that I have to be able to see, but the note view in LibreOffice shows no notes or slides. The normal view shows the slide, but you can't see the notes. (OpenOffice did this same thing, which is why I tried LibreOffice).
This is what I see with the PPTX file: [URL]
When I open the file on a Windows machine with Office 2010, I can save the file as a "PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation," and the PPT file then works in LibreOffice, as shown here: [URL]
The problem is that I don't want to have to open a windows machine to convert my class presentations every time I want to view them. Is there anyway to view PPTX presentations with notes on Linux? PowerPoint Viewer will not open PPTX files.
I've updated to 11.04 and system-about ubuntu seems to confirm this, but update manager tells me "new ubuntu release 11.04 is available". If I press upgrade it then tells me that "Could not download the release notes" and nothing happens. What should I do ?
I'm used to using zhorn stickies on Windows, and being able to back them up and restore them. I just started using xpad in ubuntu and I find it's a decent replacement.where the xpad database is located so I can do a backup and restore.
Sticky Notes Applet: hide on start-up? I would like to hide my sticky notes at the startup, because i don't like to have them spread on the desktop. If i need them i will just recall them with a click. Is it possible?
I saved my entire home directory of 11.1 before installing 11.2.I am slowly recovering everything, but it seems that Tomboy doesn't use ~/.tomboy anymore.I copy that directory from my saved dir to my new homedir and it ignores it. I then deleted the .tomboy dir from my new homedir and created a new note. It didn't recreate ~/.tomboy.So, is there any way to copy my notes from 11.1 to 11.2?
My system says an upgrade is available, but when I click on Upgrade, I get: Could not download the release notes Please check your internet connection. My web browser can access the network fine.
