View 2 RepliesI'm trying to use Pinta Image Editor but I cannot find an option to preview the image, in a viewable size, before I work on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI added an entry to grub's menu.lst and reran grub (grub-install hd0) and now my background is gone and the entries just show up like on a normal console.
I searched the forums and I couldn't find anything. Does anybody know why this happened and how to fix it?
I have not changed anything in menu.lst except for adding the new OS.
i was wondering if anyone could tell me how i can make an image zoom a little when the mouse hovers over the picture, i would apreciate any help however i need to do this in either javascript or html.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAlso, I must say I really like the feature of QuickTime in MACOS. I think Ubuntu team can improve the current GNOME desktop and provide some like that. 1. make the movie player amd image viewer dockable..window decoration, hide controls...when mouse move over the image, show transparent controls UI.
Currently the Totem, Shotwell(for me, I like F-Spot more than shtwell) and Cheese UI are very different change them, like nautilus elementary.
2. make specified UI of the Music,Picture,Movies in nautilus...such as use clutter view as default view, add extra column,eg. album, artist, starrating.
I've had it for about 2 months and I know some of the complicated things. I was wondering how I would make Ubuntu 10.10 ask for the root password when ever looking at a folder, picture, mp3 file, etc. Is this possible

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did remake my minimal installation. My window manager produces no background picture else I did add someone. So i will do it using xorg-xli. I did find the (in other cases usual) xinitrc as /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc but in only refers to an other script
and the other script (/etc/X11/Xsession) does not include some usuable steps to include easily supplementary starting commands.
Where is to do that in Debian SID actually?
im trying to remove some things from the places menu(documents, music, pictures etc.) but they come back after every restart.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04. I am still adapting to it but. Can I make this dock smaller? It is TOO big. I can't fit more than a few icons there. Also, I am a little lost. Where is the menu? I can't find system settings. How do I edit launchers on Dock? What command do I have to use in order to restart the panels? (on 10.10 I was just killing the gnome panel and it restarts by itself)
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to make the menu bar transparent on ubuntu 9.1 but i don't know how. View 2 Replies View Related9.10 has no menu.lst file and hitting ESC to does not bring up the grub menu. How can we set bootup options or boot an alternate kernel? I would really like to set the resolution at boot time so that my console (Ctrl-Alt-F5, for example) has 80 columns instead of 40. (What a stupid default, gigantic Commodore-64-like text!) It would also be nice if the Login screen could be set to the resolution that I want.
In previous releases, there were ways to do this. In 9.10, I haven't been able to figure out how.
Is there a document explaining all of the radical changes?
