I just loaded Fedora 11 from the Linux Bible live CD. When looking at adding software, I see options for individual Openoffice packages like the word processor or calc. Is there a way to load the whole suite in one step? (I'm new to Fedora)
Anyone solve the Adobe Reader (v.9.4.2) "internal error" failure after activating Reader from desktop? Running in a terminal from desktop shows the following:
On a Debian system, I installed Adobe Acrobat Reader using the Linux binary (AdbeRdr9.4.2-1_i486linux_enu.bin) downloaded from Adobe's website. I realized there's a way to install it from a Debian package as opposed to Adobe's binary (and be able to keep up better with security updates), so I want to remove Adobe's version and install the Debian package. What's the right way to uninstall Reader when it was installed this way?
I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 again on my PC after a long time. Everything was working fine. No problems at all. After running all the necessary updates, I wanted to install Adobe Flash. This I did by going to Adobe's site. I selected the APT version for 9.04+. It was installing fine UNTIL there was a power cut. Since then I have been trying out various methods of repair suggested in these forums. But again and again get the same message:Quote:

I downloaded Adobe Air, both the rpm and the .bin versions. First I tried the rpm, it went through the motions of installing but just disappeared. then I tied the .bin, got tot the installer, accepted the license, entered my root password, but it stopped installing with "an error occurred. Adobe AIR could not be installed. Install either Gnome Keyring or KDE KWallet before installing Adobe AIR". I opened Kwallet and tried again, but to no avail. I am running OS11.4 64 bit. What can I do to get this thing working?
I would like the ability to sync my phone with my Ubuntu machine in a similar manner to that of the Nokia PC Suite in Windows. Anyone have any suggestions WRT Linux applications (more specifically Ubuntu, but I am not really that picky) that mimic the functionality of Nokia PC Suite (even partially)? It doesn't need to be specific to Nokia either, any brand of phone is fine as I haven't made my mind up as to what brand I am interested in.
I just loaded office 2007 on my admin account, but when I switch users, I am unable to see the Office 2007 suite. The only thing i see is the Note pad under accessories.I have ubuntu 11.04.. Installed the latest version of Wine.I'm sure its a permission settings.
I have checked at Nokia site, they doesnt have a PC suite for Ubunutu or any other Linux/Unix favors. how can i install and use PC suite(windows version) on Ubuntu?
I'm migrating from Windows and obviously I miss some programs that works there, such as Nokia Pc Suite e.g. Then, I've been trying to find out a solution that works on Linux (Ubuntu). There's no this software available for another plataform. Who can help me to find out a solution for READ/SEND messages through computer connected to a Nokia phone, or a program with the same functionality of Nokia Pc Suite?
I have installed LibreOffice (x86) on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, and it's working great!
I'm just curious if anyone knows a quick way to make LibreOffice the default for all of the appropriate files (doc, odt, xls, ods, etc.)
I searched around in the the LibreOffice>Tools>Options, but I haven't found anything yet. I'm aware that I could right click on a ods file and use the "Open With Other Application" to set a default for that one filetype, but I figured that there's probably a way to completely switch all office file types to Libreoffice.
I am a newbie to ubuntu 11.04 & I want to know if I can install sony ericsson pc suite for my sony hazel cellular phone I want to sync my contacts & messages with computer.

Where to find the best and actual PPA for 64-bit Adobe Flash? When you're looking on the internet there are so many sites giving PPA's or installation instructions that i don't trust those site's. So, where to find the latest and best PPA for 64-bit Adobe Flash?

We've been having lots of problems with burning CD-Rs on our Dell PowerEdge and T300 servers. We've had the CD recorders replaced frequently, and that often fixes the problem, but then we'll start having problems again. Usually it is the CD refuses to write, or it gets written but can't be read. Often, if I re-run the burn with the same blank CD, it will be fine.
I'd like to test some CD-Rs and compare error rates so I can recommend what CD-R media we should be using. Currently we are using Memorex and Verbatim CD-Rs. Is there a good cd recording/testing suite for Linux that I could use to do this?
I'm looking for a good solution to get rid of micro$oft exchange... i understand these people literally wrote the kolab connector and now they are offering a collaboration suite.... which seems cool in theory.
