having problem dealing with gnome-do, before this, I never have problem while tweeting with the tweeter plugin in gnome-do.Now, when I want to tweet up with gnome-do, the gnome-do suddenly crash and I need to open it back via Application to make it use back again.
View 4 RepliesI have just upgraded to Lucid on Ubuntu. I am a long time Pidgin user. I tried using Empathy with Gwibber, but I can't get Gwibber to update my IM status(es) in Empathy, so I want to go back to using Pidgin. (Additionally, I can't get Skype to work with Empathy.)I installed pidgin-microblog and pidgin-mbpurple, and they allow me to view my Twitter feed in Pidgin and update my Twitter status in Pidgin. However, in Karmic, I was also able to specify certain "status availabilities" (one named "Twitter-Available" and one named "Twitter-Away", for instance) to have the IM status message for these statuses become populated with my Twitter feed. This capability seems missing in pidgin-mbpurple in Lucid (and it seems to be the only thing missing from Karmic).
Is there a way to have pidgin-mbpurple update certain "status availabilities" in Lucid (and I'm just missing something) or is this no longer possible?Equivalently, is it possible to have Gwibber update my status message in Empathy? (I just want to be able to update my status once on one of my three computers - and have it propagate to all my other accounts (IM and social networking) and computers).
I just installed a fresh copy of 11.2 I use networkmanager and the cisco vpn plugin (not the cisco client). I create a vpn profile and connect to it. The icon shows a connection has been established, but I have no network connectivity. In the /var/log/NetworkManager file, I see this

When I go to Adobe's website to check the version number, it works fine. I've already tried reinstalling the plugin.

When I want to play a video on ..... the browser crashes. I installed the flash plugin from Slackbuilds. In the Slacbuild file I just check the version and set ARCH to x86_64, What can I do?

version: gnome-applets-2.32.0-1.fc14.x86_64
symptom: via right click on a gnome panel, perform "add to panel" and choose Dwell Click.
Gnome panel bites the dust with SIGSEGV at this point, restarts, and then you've got dwell click on the panel.
Anyone else seeing this, and better yet, have a solution?
After update of adobe plugin to version 10.1.102.64 (10.1.r102) plugin crashes if I try to switch to full screen. Previous plugin (10.1.53.64) worked perfectly well. Anybody with the same problem? My system is System76 Gazelle, Ubuntu 8.04 with all latest updates, nvidia drivers.
Additional info:
1. Same effect in Google Chrome, which uses its own plugin 10.1.r103
2. Same effect (both in Firefox and Chrome) on Thinkpad T41 with ubuntu 8.04
I downgraded plugin to r53 for now, but it's not a good idea, last update fixed some security issues.

I use slack 13.1 64 bits on my intel i7 machine. That is I can't find a flash-player plugin that works on all browsers. The firefox crashes on open. The release of adobe 64 bits plugin simply doesn't work on any browser. I use slack 13.1 64 plus kde. Anyone knows some that works?

Seeing as it's due for release soon (September), can we expect some updates in the near future? I had been using Gnome Shell in Ubuntu with much success, including compiling my own. These days, I cannot afford the bandwidth, and have encountered an unknown problem [URL] under Debian Squeeze. Currently, I'm experiencing a very annoying flickering issue using the repo version which I know does not exist anymore in the current gnome development. To have at least one update now before the release date would be nice to see.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't ever had this working as I've never tried before today. Gwibber won't post to my ping.fm account. I'm certain the correct username and web-key have been entered (though Gwibber doesn't tell you one way or the other). It doesn't matter if I try to post via the Gwibber interface or the indicator-applet-session textbox... neither work. No error messages.
- I know Gwibber is working because it will post to twitter, facebook, identica, etc.
- I know my ping.fm account is working because it will post direct from website and/or browser extension
I just installed Gnome Do and for the most part, it works great!
The only problem is that it does not search my Firefox bookmarks. Every other search seems to work just fine. I ran Do in a terminal and this is what came up:

I am running 10.04, with Compiz.
Title explains it all. The tracker plugin is enabled and it shows up in do's action list but when I try to search nothing happens... no windows, no errors, just a big silent nothing.

So I've been using Rhythmbox and Gnome Do for quite some time now, and this problem has persisted for about as long
So I've got the Rhythmbox plugin enabled in Gnome Do. Awesome. I can invoke Gnome Do (Super + Space on my system) and start typing up some music I want to hear. This morning I wanted to listen to Buck 65's album Vertex. So I start typing "Buck 65" and the artist is listed in Gnome Do as expected.
I hit the right arrow to see a listing of his albums. I arrow down to Vertex and press Enter. What I expect is that Rhythmbox will start playing that album. However, there is simply no effect. This occurs at all levels of music browsing with Gnome Do. I can select an artist, album, or specific song, and no matter what I select, Rhythmbox doesn't respond at all. This is true if Rhythmbox is already running or not, whether it's already playing music or not. There's just no effect.
In short, Gnome Do correctly sees Rhythmbox's index of my music, and I can traverse the artists, etc with it just fine, but it will not actually make Rhythmbox play that music.
That said, other functions of the Rhythmbox plugin work fine. I can pause and play music just fine using Gnome Do.
I am using Gnome Do 0.8.2, which I added using the PPA. It is great, although when I summon Do, and type a Ping.fm status, and press enter, Gnome Do crashes with this output:

Been trying to get mac4lin to work, and in the process, I attempted uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling gtk-engines-pixbuf. This has now screwed my system so that the background is a light grey and any attempt to change the wallpaper just makes X crash, forcing me to Ctrl Alt Backspace. I'd rather avoid a reinstall of the system since I have it customized to my needs, so is there a solution to this? I tried reinstalling the pixbufs package, but no dice.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout 1-2 times a day (3 today and it's just 9 AM here...) Gnome 3 decides to just not care about me any more, crashes and logs me out. No warning, no error on screen, just some black screen with text (like when shutting down the computer and it's stopping services) which lasts half a second, then back to the login screen.
Any ideas what might be wrong or where I could find some logs to post them here?
Ever since I upgraded to 11.04 the vlc player crashes the Gnome Desktop every time I use it.

From where I sit, getting the file type string instead of an integer, which can be equally (if not often more) accurate, makes for an easier time of setting the conditional and, maybe only in terms of a few ticks, a faster script from start to finish. I think my method is better, and proven so to the limits of my knowledge and ability here in this OP.
In case I missed it in my seaching is there a 3rd party Gnome plugin available for Perlbox Voice? It really is an excellent piece of software, though unfortunately it doesn't play well with Gnome. And I REALLY don't want to switch to KDE. Their website hasn't been updated in awhile, and their powers-that-be are requesting help with programming one. If it doesn't exist is their anyone that I could request/beg/bribe to make one?
