Fedora :: Cookie Editor / Adder / Remover - Order To Change A Particular Browser's Cookie Values?

Domain
Path
Send For (type of connection)
Expiration Date
If no one knows of an application that does this, does anyone know what files i could manually edit in order to change a particular browser's cookie values?
Ubuntu :: Passing A Cookie To Firefox?
Aug 3, 2010i would like to know whether it is possible to pass firefox a single cookie generated by some other program (in this case wget), doing it from the command line. my concrete use for this is to login to a site (connect.garmin.com) with wget, saving the cookie with --save-cookies --keep-session-cookies, pass this cookie to curl, do some uploads and then pass the cookie to firefox to open the page and have me logged in automatically (everything besides firefox is sorted out). google searches and the firefox man page suggest that firefox doesn't have this functionallity, but would it in that case be possible to link the cookie into firefox's normal cookie jar?

Aug 9, 2010I would like Chromium to discard all cookies at the end of the session except for specified domains. I thought I had it set up right, but it doesn't remember me on either ubuntuforums or facebook.
Does anyone know if I'm missing something or if this is a bug?

Oct 12, 2009I am using apache2 with subversion and trying to get post commit script to run an svn update command. All svn commands seem to work fine manually
Everything used to work fine but then the server ip changed and I can no longer access it with the web name and have to use the ip directly
I am using tortoise svn with vista on my work machine

Ubuntu Servers :: Apache RewriteRule Not Checking Cookie Value?
Aug 8, 2011I'm setting a cookie value using RewriteRule statements in .htaccess for checking if my site should not redirect from the main desktop site to the mobile site (when accessed via iphone browser). The problem occurs when the first RewriteRule sets "mobile=desktop" in the cookie (from detecting "?desktop=true" in the querystring), the third RewriteRule fails to detect the new cookie value and redirect. If I reload the page again (without any querystring for "?desktop=true"), then the third RewriteRule redirects successfully.
Can anyone tell me why the third RewriteRule fails to detect the cookie value straight after it is set in the first rule? How can I fix this to work properly?

Apr 2, 2010I can open the stream fine from Firefox and I have recorded streams using VLC, however this one uses cookies as authentication and VLC will not play it Apparently it's considered a security issue so cookie support has not been implemented for VLC.

Sep 28, 2010For some odd reason, I cannot post on the ubuntu forum and the LinuxMint forum. Yea, I know.... the irony... I am using Mozilla and have tried Chromium, but that did not fix my problem. When I click on "submit" to post a thread, the page will just say "loading..." and nothing happens for a really long time. Does anyone know what is up? I tried posting on one other forum that I go to often and it seems to work out fine. I haven't tried any other forums though.

Jun 7, 2010I searched the forum with various terms and didn't find anything, so my apologies if this is a common and/or newbie problem.It seems that when I have a USB driveplugged in to switch the files around, those that I delete are still taking up space. I first noticed it with a Chinese MP3 player and thought it was the player being crappy. I could still play all the songs that were supposedly gone. Today, I noticed it with a little thumb drive that I've had for years. I plugged it into my husband's computer running winXP, and the files showed up in a weird, unusable form. I was able to delete them for real.

Aug 19, 2011i recently moved from Ubuntu to Debian(squeeze).. i am very pleased with squeeze except for this bug..I have this python script i wrote to change my wallpaper (through Gconf), the script would be called by cron from time to time.The problem i am facing in Debian is that this script stopped working.I am exporting the $DISPLAY=:0 in Cron, (this is how it worked in Ubuntu)..the cron job i used is below:

Fedora X86/64bit :: Catalyst 10.7 And 13x64 - "no Such File Or Directory Couldn't Create Cookie" Get A Black Screen
Jul 26, 2010I just installed the 10.7 drivers (no workaround they just installed). And now after boot i get a black screen. I have a Radeon HD 4850 there is a way to fix this without reinstalling the OS. Ok in recovery mode when I type Startx i get: line 143: /usr/bin/mcookie: no such file or directory Couldn't create cookie Then if i type Xorg -configure i get : Fatal server error: Cannot open log file "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" Please consult the fedora project support.

Feb 11, 2010i think this is not the right place for this post, but i can not figure out how to post a bug. i am talking about the permissions of: /tmp/orbit-root. please don't tell me now "don't" log in as root if you once login as user root from the login screen the permissions of /tmp/orbit-root are set to: drwx root but if log out the permissions are not set back / or the entry will be deleted. this will end for the next login as a normal user that you will get a bulp of error messages. easy to reproduce. this is not a feature - it's a bug.

Jun 14, 2010I have a problem with gwibber. It has emerged randomly for no apparent reason as I have not changed any settings. All of a sudden, when updating my status on Facebook, and I click send, gwibber appears to work for a while, and then just nothing happens. My status does not get updated. It works fine with Twitter. It's only facebook. I have checked my application settings in Facebook and gwibber has full permission to post.#
I tried setting up the account again in gwibber, but this just opened a can of worms, because I had to reinstall gwibber and delete all of the config files in order to reinstate my facebook account, (see URL...)due to a bug in gwibber, which was a pain.

May 7, 2010I'm posting this from my Vista Laptop. I recently upgraded to Lynx and I can't access my Gmail account via the web. I can download emails with thunderbird, but I can't send emails. I can log into chat boards and read posts but I can't make posts of my own.Basically, Ubuntu won't let me push data out to the internet.

Jun 11, 2010I'm trying to make the changes listed in post #5 here to my Inspiron 8000: There's no xorg.conf in Xubuntu 10.04. But I figured out how to create one, and I edited it as suggested. But there's no menu.lst in Xubuntu 10.04 either. That is, the file called "menu.lst" is located in
/usr/share/doc/memtest86+/examples
and it has no "defoptions" line. So how can I make the poster's suggested changes (i.e., do something functionally equivalent, assuming that's possible) to my newer system?
Ubuntu :: Sound Not Functioning Post Update
Jun 13, 2010I'm running 10.04 (64bit) on an hp dv6915nr and sound has been working great for the past few weeks. When I started the machine up today, it wouldn't play any sounds and the sound preferences show no input devices. Output devices lists simply "Dummy Output".
The only thing that I believe to have changed recently is updates. I installed a set of updates a day or tow ago. I hadn't used anything requiring sound immediately after the update, so I'm not sure if the updates were the issue.

The problem I have is that once I join my company vpn, I have full access to corporate services confluence, jira, servers, etc. However when I use firefox to try and resolve a jira and post a body of text the connection timesout.
If i use any other browser it works fine, if slow, if i transition workflows it works fine, and if i use windows and firefox with the same cisco client it works fine.
This appears to be a specific issue with Firefox. I have noticed that in general firefox is slower on ubuntu than on any other platform.
