Fedora :: Cookie Editor / Adder / Remover - Order To Change A Particular Browser's Cookie Values?

Jan 21, 2011

I'm looking for a program that will add cookies to my web browser (firefox or chrome, preferably). The application would ask me for the Cookie's:Name

Content
Domain
Path
Send For (type of connection)
Expiration Date

If no one knows of an application that does this, does anyone know what files i could manually edit in order to change a particular browser's cookie values?

Ubuntu :: Passing A Cookie To Firefox?

Aug 3, 2010

i would like to know whether it is possible to pass firefox a single cookie generated by some other program (in this case wget), doing it from the command line. my concrete use for this is to login to a site (connect.garmin.com) with wget, saving the cookie with --save-cookies --keep-session-cookies, pass this cookie to curl, do some uploads and then pass the cookie to firefox to open the page and have me logged in automatically (everything besides firefox is sorted out). google searches and the firefox man page suggest that firefox doesn't have this functionallity, but would it in that case be possible to link the cookie into firefox's normal cookie jar?

Ubuntu Servers :: Apache RewriteRule Not Checking Cookie Value?

Aug 8, 2011

I'm setting a cookie value using RewriteRule statements in .htaccess for checking if my site should not redirect from the main desktop site to the mobile site (when accessed via iphone browser). The problem occurs when the first RewriteRule sets "mobile=desktop" in the cookie (from detecting "?desktop=true" in the querystring), the third RewriteRule fails to detect the new cookie value and redirect. If I reload the page again (without any querystring for "?desktop=true"), then the third RewriteRule redirects successfully.

Can anyone tell me why the third RewriteRule fails to detect the cookie value straight after it is set in the first rule? How can I fix this to work properly?

Programming :: Jquery To Dynamically Create Cookies Using The Jquery Cookie Plugin?

Jul 27, 2011

I am learning jquery and I think for the most part I have the basics down. One of the things that I am attempting to do is to create cookies using the jquery cookie plugin. The idea is that I want to replace as much of the javascript in my code as possible with jquery to see the difficulties in doing it one way or the other.

As easy as it seems to be able to create a cookie using the plugin I have not been able to do some successfully and the only thing that I can think of is the way that I am submitting my parameters is not correct. So with that, here is is my code:

Fedora :: Change The Boot Order In Xp?

Jun 16, 2011

how slow XP was on my laptop, a casual friend (who moved away and I have since lost touch with) installed Fed 11 as a dual boot with XP, Fed 11 first. It has worked great for email and some net surfing. Now the machine is going to my wife, who does not want have to go to the boot menu to get XP. How do I change the order so that XP boots first and you have to go to the menu to get Fed 11? I've tried going through the forums, but since I'm not really a computer person, there are some basics I don't know (for example "open a terminal" - how does one do that?)

Red Hat / Fedora :: Change The Service Load Or Boot Order On My CentOS 5.3 Box?

Jun 2, 2009

I'm running into a strange problem trying to change the service load or boot order on my CentOS 5.3 box.

The service in question is shorewall. When I go to my /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/, I notice that shorewall is listed a S27shorewall. I need it to start much later. So I run a simple command "mv S27shorewall S99shorewall"

I then restart the server. But after the reboot, something has reset it back to S27shorewall.

For those of you who like the background story: I need to change it to S99shorewall, because I need shorewall to start AFTER xend does all its stuff, as xend messes around with the underlying networking of the computer. The xend stuff was at S98 and S99...but I was able to successfully rename them back to S97 and S98, and the rename stuck. I've also renamed other service orders. Those stick. The only one that gets reset is shorewall, always back to S27. I have no clue how to tell what is causing the resetting...

Red Hat / Fedora :: Cannot Modify Grub Menu File - Need To Change Boot Order

Mar 3, 2009

I recently installed a 64-bit version of centOS 5 alongside a 32-bit version, which I use. Turns out the 64-bit version absolutely will not boot and I'm stuck with it as my default boot option. Since the grub being used resides on the 64-bit half, I cant edit the menu file but I know theres a way to do this without it, through grub itself. I have about 29 render nodes now with this problem, and whenever they need to be rebooted I have to hook a monitor up to each one and hold its hand through the boot process. How to change the grub menu through grub itself, basically just change the default boot option and then have it stay that way?

General :: Host Command And Web Browser's Don't Accept Hosts.conf Order

Why does ping see audit.median.hu as 127.0.0.0, and why does host -t a audit.median.hu see it as 193.68.35.149? audit.median.hu is just an example site [hosts ads, etc.]

I just have a caching nameserver on my Fedora PC:

I configured my DNS server addresses in the Network-Manager Applet: 127.0.0.1, 8.8.8.8

Even with Wireshark, I can see it:

So the big question: Why don't the host command or my web browser recognize that I have modified audit.median.hus IP address?

General :: Custom TCP Parameters For Multiple Interfaces - Change The Default Values

Feb 16, 2011

My question is about TCP parameters in Linux. By now, I want to change the default values of:

Initial Timeout
ACK Delay
Idle Connection Timeout

I have a Linux Box with kernel 2.6.x and 2 ethernet interfaces. I know TCP is a stack that doesn't have anything to do with ethernet devices. Said that, the question: is there a way to set custom values for each interface? For example, a server listening to connections in eth0 would use one value for Idle Connection Timeout and another server listening to connections in eth1 could use a different value for that parameter.
