Cannot get FlASH install correctly so I can view shows on HULU. In the past I could but recently HULU request that I install FlASH. When I click on the link provided and run the install, the install appears to download but I still cannont view shows on HULU.
View 1 RepliesI have some strange behavior with Flash content on FF4 on Hulu. I am using the latest Flashplayer (10.2.153.1). On the hulu landing page, parts of the flash overlay disappear (or turn dark) and re-appear randomly. I tried taking screenshots of that happening, but the captured images do not contain any artifacts!
This does not happen on Chromium (12.0.722), and I could not verify this on Opera11 because Hulu would not load on it. Specs: Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64, Compiz, Firefox 4.0, Flash 10.2.153.1 on Intel C2D w/Intel 4-series graphics.
I just installed the new Hulu Desktop for Linux in my 64 bit Fedora.When trying to start the program, it complains that flash is not installed and aborts.I have leigh's 64 bit flash plugin installed but guess that's not enough.

All of a sudden I couldn't watch movies on Hulu anymore, so I have just upgraded Debian from the Etch to Lenny, because I wanted to update to the newest version of Adobe flash. In Iceweasel under add-ons, it says that I have the newest (10.0 r42) version. The old one (9.0 r124) is still listed. It is listed as disabled, white version 10 is listed as enabled. I still can't watch movies on Hulu.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just got a new box, installed a HD, put in the CD I made of Ubuntu 8.04 from the EMC2 website.The box is a Samba 845GV with a P4 2.4Ghz processor & 256MB of RAMIt seemed to be installing correctly, but it's hung at a screen that shows a stylized Heron, it's been like this for 45 minutes.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I load the disk I can view my backup drive properly but when I try to view my working drive it shows it as being empty. I also noticed that I had a 1 mg unallocated partition at the beginning followed by my ubuntu partition.
I then ran gparted in terminal and it did show the partition as having my system on it but I am not able to perform any tasks. No moving or resizing.
I'm using fedora 14. And I have installed apache, PHP and MySQL. I tried testing PHP with phpinfo(). But when I view it view my browser (localhost/test.php) it just shows the code itself instead of displaying the phpinfo page. This is the content of my test.php page.

Has anyone noticed with the new 10.4 release and firefox 3.6.3, that flash is not working correctly? Videos do play fine but I have noticed that pausing the video, replaying the video, or even skipping around in the video does not work. I may try downgrading firefox and see if it works.

this is strange because hulu videos were working after i installed lynx but mysteriously stopped working. i don't have the swfdec-mozilla package installed nor the mozilla-plugin-gnash nor the flashplugin-installer.
what do i need to do to start clean and install the necessary packages?
I'm running a 64-bit version of Ubuntu 10.04 and have the flash plug-in installed. It runs fine for the most part but if I'm watching a ..... video or playing a game on facebook and accidentally hit the right mouse button, rather than pull up a menu like it does on my netbook (running Ubuntu 10.1 32-bit), it crashes Firefox.

different browsers did not solve the problem with blenders web page which is: [url] only google chrome solves partly ..... problem it arranges the videos but did not view the picture of any video.
ps: all updates are installed via update manager.
I always get "no camera found" in camera tab in flash player settings . What can be the problem. My camera is working fine. I have flash player also installed and working absolutely fine.
I tried viewing my camera with "cheese" and i can perfectly see it. But i am unable to see it with Flash player. I visited ustream.tv to see if i can broadcast my video but it always shows "no camera found" in camera tab. How do i resolve this? I even tried solution posted in this thread [URL] :-

Since upgrading to 11.04 i haven't been able to watch any flash video.Any websites that feature flash prompt me to install or upgrade my flash player.

I had the issue with Chrome before I upgraded, but I could still see them in Firefox without an issue and I figured the upgrade would fix this. I am getting the error message 'The Adobe Flash plug-in has crashed' and then underneath the viewing panel it says 'Upgrade to Flash Player 10 for improved playback performance. Upgrade Now or More Info.' I have checked in the software centre and it is showing a green tick next to Adobe Flash plug-in for Mozilla.

Well I have been trying to view some flash videos on the net and apparantly need to update my flash player. So I go to the Adobe page and download the YUM for Linux. It says it's installed, but I still can't view flash videos.
installing a Linux distro on an old mac to make a simple desktop home computer details below.The Scenario: I am trying to breath a couple more years of life into a computer illiterate friend's Mac G4 [POS] computer, it is a paper weight but all he needs is a basic desktop and an web machine and he can't be made to buy a new one unless all other options are exhausted.
The computer: Is a Mac G4 power-PC architecture, 450 MHz, 18 GB HDD, 1024 Mb ram ugly little thing that was gotten for free it currently has mac OS 10.2 [unsupported] and newer OS-X (he is more familiarized with Mac) don't run on power-PC. Currently web pages don't display correctly, flash and other plug-ins and web scripts don't operate and it is very clunky with software bloat.
My solution? Is to install Linux so he can have a trim clean operating system. Ubuntu 10.04 [community ppc variant] runs off a live CD but is dead slow on account of the low processor power and I was unable to get gnash to run flash video a necessity as Adobe has abandoned power-PC, I suspect the gnash error is between chair and keyboard, advice is welcome. I would like to install a distro more suited to this system currently I am looking at mintPPC but can't quite follow the installation instructions what is meant by Debian squeeze the download link gives me a mini.iso is this the same thing? Also clarification on the terminal commands would be of help. Advice on a different distro is also welcome preferably one with an all in one installing process rather than the mint, Debian, Ubuntu multi-part thingy that mintPPC is; it just needs to be power PC compatible and able to run on a few hundred MHz maybe there is an easy way to put LXDE or Xcfe on a more popular Disto? As for me: I am a new Linux convert, discovering the glory this past July and am still learning my way around I am computer literate and somewhat savvy but I am not a tech head and I HATE working on them I can and do it but I don't like it and I am often hampered by ignorance of the latest new/trends and an acute allergy to Macs and Apple products in general.

Yes, I have ndiswrapper installed. Flash is the 32 bit version (64 bit version is still a bit scary to me, it being beta with known bugs). I can see the plugin in firefox. I have NO gnash installed.
I'm running Fedora 15 64-bit on my laptop, an HP HDX. I installed skype and got flash video to work (the former required that I install some 32 bit libraries, the latter required that I install an experimental 64-bit flash plugin from a tar ball). Now, they both work fine, but they don't work at the same time. In other words, I can have a video/audio chat, or just an audio chat, with someone on skype, but during that chat, I cannot view flash videos, nor can I watch a movie (and I verified that the problem is not just with totem) at the same time. If I'm watching a movie or listening to audio, skype will refuse to make a call.
Furthermore, when I have the sound settings open, and I'm using skype, in the applications tab of the sound settings I get "No application is currently playing or recording audio" which seems highly suspicious. I know this is a fixable problem because skype 64 + flash and/or movies works fine in the most recent iteration of 64bit ubuntu on my laptop, so it is just a matter of settings. I can't find much in the way of pulseaudio or alsa management apps in any of the repositories.

Whenever I open any website having flash content, firefox shows missing plugin symbol and message.
When I installed Wicd, and ran it for the first time, I got an error something like: "Could not connect to Wicd's dbus session- check the Wicd log file for more info". However, later when I restarted my computer, Wicd started, but I can't connect to my network, it shows up as <hidden>, I can connect to linksys, so I know that wireless is working on that computer. I know that there's nothing wrong with my wireless router, because I can connect to my network in this computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Boxee on my 64bit install. I had to edit the DEB so it did not install Flash, because Ubuntu still insists on installing the 32bit version which always borks Firefox.
But now I cant run synaptic without getting complaints of broken packages. I just want to blacklist boxee from from annoying the hell out of me, but keep it installed. How do I go about doing that?
