Ubuntu :: Bluetooth Couldn't Parse The Incoming Data?

When trying to access my HTC Vogue via bluetooth, I can view all my files EXCEPT the music directory I made on my sd card (which is actually the one i wanted...). When trying to view it, nautilus gives the following error:

The folder contents could not be displayed. Couldn't parse the incoming data. A quick google revealed [URL]../+s...ez/+bug/310231 however I'm fairly noobish when it comes to compiling so could someone perhaps direct me with the commands? Edit: Sorry forgot to mention its the second post on that website.

I'd like to find some sort of program which can tell me how much incoming data I've had in the last 24 hours. It goes by hours, not by days, but anything that's simple and that can display this will do. Is there any sort of program that does this? Something that would fit well with Ubuntu's style wouldn't hurt, but I'm not that worried about it as long as it does the job.

I had issues on my last install , I couldn't boot into it cause I accidentally uninstalled python 2.6 and everything it was attached to. So I reinstalled on a separate hard drive, I can see my other file system from the media folder but the only thing in my home dir is these 2 files 1 read me that says

i have the following challenge: i have a Bluetooth GPS device that i have connected to my linux notebook. but now i also want to use the same device (or better, GPS data stream) for my Navigation device (HP Ipaq with TomTom). make an serial port bluetooth service (sending) that my Navigation device can connect to. copy the incoming bluetooth serial port data stream to the outgoing bluetooth serial port.
i have already installed GPSD so i have the TCP port where the GPS data is available for everything on my notebook. but now i also want it to send it out through bluetooth.
1. is there someone out there who already did this?
2. how to make an bluetooth serial port service on Fedora 12?
3. how to copy a data stream from 1 device to the next device?

create a VM here with virsh. I've managed to create the XML file and got it to work properly, however running it is the problem. I use jpilot on opensuse 11.3 64bit to sync pim data with my Palm Treo 680 via bluetooth. This worked fine until today. Now I get the following error message when I try to sync: Syncing on device bt: Press the HotSync button now dlp_ReadSysInfo error Exiting with status YNC_ERROR_PI_CONNECT Finished.
The last successfull sync was on the 20th October and today is the 24th October. I did not change any settings in jpilot or on my palm device. So I guess there must have been an update of opensuse which causes this error. But I do not now how to look up the updates during this period or how to undo them. Was there an update between the 20th and the 24th Oktober, which might affect either jpilot or bluetooth functionality?

i have a bluetooth modem (BlueSMiRF) that is connected to Arduino Duemilanove. I am trying to see serial communication messages from the bluetooth modem.
I have Blueman Device Manager that enabled SPP (Serial Port) and it says :

How do I see the serial communication on this?

When i connect to my laptop a bluetooth usb stick, the bluetooth could not be turned on.
the bluetooth dameon is on, and when i press the turn on button, nothing happens.
in windows the stick works fine.

The bluetooth manager does not detect a bluetooth dongle .trying to use ndiswrapper to fix.I installed device manager and the results are shown below.i downloaded the windows driver suite. It has 4 .exe self extracting driver archives and a setupconfig.ini. The .ini file is below.I was able to extract one of the 32bit archives on a windows machine and it had about 8 .inf files that are titled weird and would not install properly using ndiswrapper probably because im using the 64-bit architecture. there are 2 64bit .exe's in the driver download, but how can i extract them in ubuntu and do i really need to install all 8 .inf files. also do i actually need to make a .inf file? if so how?

I'm using arp -a to get the mac address of the router I am connected to. This is the first line of the output:

I have apache2 installed along with php5 and mysql5.0. I have installed them by themselves along with just installing the full LAMP install through terminal. My problem is that I cannot parse php files, it will just download them instead. I did change my apache server to nick/projects (nick is my username). If I navigate to localhost/index.html it works fine but will not parse the php files I have put there. I also have rails working fine in that folder too using apache2.

I've already deleted my current xorg.conf and created a new one using sudo nvidia-xconfig and run NVIDIA X server settings using gksudo nvidia-settings but still can't save..I am using 32-bit Ubuntu 9.10 and my video card is NVIDIA FX 5500..

I killed a stalled apt-get safe-upgrade, which left lock-files on my system. I followed this guide to clean it up:

and have done the following:
sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock
sudo rm -r /tmp/*
now, when I try:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
i get: dpkg: parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0006' near line 0: newline in field name `#padding'
the file var/lib/dpkg/updates/0006 contains nothing but lines of '#padding'
System: Freshly installed 10.04 64bit, 2.6.32-21-generic

I'm trying to block an incoming URL. My ISP is hijacking 404 pages and annoyingly changing the URL line in the browser and flashing all sorts of popup ads. I just need it for incoming URLs which my router doesn't seem to handle. I'd prefer something packaged with Ubuntu 8.04, but anything simple will do. I know in KDE I could edit the kdeglobals file with:

I am using a NanoStation 2 in Router mode.The NS is connected wirelessly to my neighbor's router and a switch is connect via ethernet to the NS for LAN use.
The past few days I'm trying to use a VoIP client software to connect to my VoIP account.I use Ekiga Softphone to do so, which requires UDP ports 3478-3479 and 5000-5100 to be open.
So I have opened these ports both on my neighbor's router and on the NS.The problem that I'm encountering is that although I manage to register to the VoIP service, when I answer an incoming call the caller is able to hear me, but I'm not able to hear the caller.So I used wireshark and figured that there is no incoming traffic on my end.
I have used many linux VoIP clients with PCs connecting straight forward to an ADSL router and worked perfectly.

I am setting up a server that is to serve websites and host mail.I have run into a problem regarding the mail server. The server is completely set up but for some reason it is not receiving the e-mails I am trying to send to it. When i mail to the associated mail address from internal by the "mail" command it works fine. But when I try from an external mail server, the mail never gets through. And I do not receive a bounce e-mail.
It says that the port 25 IS open for TCP connections (in iptables - I opened it myself). And surely when I telnet to it on that port from inside the server, I get an connection. But when I telnet from an external network I get a refused connection. It would sound that the port is in fact not really open for external use, in my mind, but it is. Is there possibly anything else I might have neglected to check in this mystery

This is a clean OpenSUSE 11.4 installation (the installation went flawless) I got the error while adding an https repo from the build service (though I *think* I mistyped the URL - plus the build service URL should be http) After restarting yast, everything went fine
I bet there's a segfault happening when trying to parse a broken repo (ie: broken download or even just a 404).

I'm trying to simply pull a line (semi-static entry) from an xml file online with a shell script, or perl script. Basically, I've got a URL that loads an XML file. From this file I want to pull a text entry:
<blah xml code blah 'http://static.address.com/static_directory/dynamic_filename.123' blah xml code blah>
I would like to do this from a shell or perl script. I would like to parse the xml file so that it just pulls the http - .123 information and ends there, that's the only information I need. it will then run a local command on this file.
