Software :: Upload Documents On Site (mostly Pdfs) With Watermark-stamp?

I have the following issue: I want to upload some documents on my site(mostly pdfs) with watermark and as far my status is: I have managed to get my watermark in:
transparent png
pdf format
>> When it is a text/pdf I use a script using pdftk, which merges the pdf version of watermark to the pdf document (success)
>> When it is a scanned document(pdf) if I use pdftk, it only works if I apply the watermark as stamp (foreground not background). But in this case the watermark overlaps the original document despite the fact that watermark has the right opacity.... (fail) So the only solution is to apply a transparent watermark. So the question is:How to make a pdf transparent Or how to apply watermark from png file I tried adobe acrobat with wine and it applies the pdf watermark as stamp(foreground) with right opacity so I suppose it was a kind of bug maybe from pdftk, but I would like a command like way to do it so that I can make a script.
I've been trying to use the stamp function in pdftk. I'm trying to stamp a pdf document with a pdf I generate on the fly that contains the current date. Below is what I have so far. The problem is that pdftk says "Error: failed to open stamp PDF file". the file is in the same dir as execution, I've made it 776, I've specified full paths... nothing seems to work. I've even tried the "prompt" option and specify it manually but I get the same behavior. This is pdftk version 1.4.

looking to implement a website where business partners can download/upload documents. The files and the "partner areas" should be password protected.Are there open source projects / Ubuntu packages readily available for implementing this type of web-based file sharing service
However, the page I'm downloading has remote content from a domain other than somedomain.com. It was asked of me to download that content too. is this possible with wget?
How can I change the mountpoint of my partition /media/documents to /documents.This is a partition of sdb and a fixed disk.The reason is that /media/ sometimes creates ghostdirectories while /Windows/C never does so, programmes writing/reading from this partition therfore don't work if a ghostdir_ exists.(BTW Suse is on sdb5 and sdb6. on sda is windows and used to be Ubuntu, the Suse-swap is sda5. Windows is out of use.)
I can access my windows my documentsmusic by mounting my windows drive and browsing to it. I can then playwatch my movies and pics in Ubuntu.But what I really want to be able to do is re-map the Ubunbu docs folder like so:
Ubuntu Pics = Windows My Documents pics. Ubuntu Videos = Windows My Documents Videos.
I'm not very unix savy so I've been using Ubuntu tweak PersonalDefault Folder Locations setting and browsing to my Windows folders. But it doesn't work.I have managed to make a desktop 'short cut' and that works but I'd rather set the system wide default document folders.
I installed Phatch but I can not figure out how to use it. Documentation sucks. I want to watermark a ton of images. Can someone get me started? Or at least agree that with me that Phatch is not easy to figure out?
I met a guy who is going about with a thermal imaging device. He wants to remove the watermark from the images and tells me that the software developed by the company can do this using only the jpeg. Unfortunately it's only available for windows. I'm dubious that this is possible, but I have to admit I'm not extremely well versed in image manipulation. Is it possible to extract the unadulterated image from a copy with the watermark and other data on it?
I'm trying to find out how to add watermark to a video using a ffmpeg via console, because I have to do it quick. There is tutorial on ..... (other forums use also this video tutorial) for this but there is a small problem - in ffmpeg 6.1 there is no more vhook subsystem which is used in tutorial...
have setup a LAMP server with ubuntu 10.04 server edition x86 for my study in VMware Workstation 7.1 For a assignment I had to make a php script that would load a file up to the server and set the name in a mysql database. According to the book the server should set the image in a cryptic folder in the /tmp/ folder.
This isn't working and i also try'd locate and find to find the image i uploaded. I checked the php.ini and file uploads were on but no folder so i set that one to /tmp/ but still no images. Can anyone help me with enabling this function?
I have to ubuntu machine (9.10 and 10.4) with a openvpn tunnel between them.This is the situation:

I've been on a quest to enable full routing through my openvpn tunnel between my office and the colo. Masquerading will work, however it will throw off anything key based and makes a lot of things just more difficult and vague in general. Is there an easy way to do this via iptables? I tried using quagga hoping it would magically solve my problems, however it does not seem to do my routing for me . I just did a basic static route within zebra...
I've used ubuntu before, mostly because it works when windows doesn't and I just got a new amd fusion netbook. The acer aspire one 522.
I have a couple issues, 2 with grub, and one with an amd watermark.
1. There are two ubuntus and two ubuntu memory tests in the grub, I can't see any difference between them, after I booted the first time into ubuntu and updated, I restarted and the grub gave me two ubuntus.
Can I remove the second one from the list? (not an issue I just want to clean it up)
2. I need to make windows 7 the default operating system, I've looked at other guides and I can't figure it out. I've tried menu.lst, and when I try grub.cfg I can't change the default.
3. I installed the unofficial drivers for the wireless adapter and graphics card (6250 on fusion) and now everything is working fine with them, except I have the unremovable watermark in the bottom right corner that says "AMD Unsupported hardware"
How do I remove this?
BONUS question! How do I tell ubuntu, this is my netbook, stop denying me access to my own computer and let me in that folder!
I can't access the root folder, and I'd like to do install things without ubuntu asking me for my password every time. I'm not worried about other people being on this netbook, no super valuable info, and not really anyone else is on it anyway. Any way I could give it a master password and roam freely inside my netbook?
I have three locations with a central office connected to two remote locations. At the central office I run on a cisco asa 5505 two site to site vpns. The remote end of the first site is a checkpoint firewall , and the remote end of the second site is racoon on debian. Both sites are up and working. However, where at the first site traffic goes both ways, at the second site it only works from the central office to the remote office.
For example, I can ssh from a host in the central office to a host in the first remote site (through checkpoint firewall,) then ssh back from that host at the remote office to any host in the central office. In contrast, after I ssh from a host in the central office to a host in the second remote office (through racoon), I cannot see the central office hosts (ping the ip address of a central office host, ssh, etc. all fail.) The vpn settings at the central office (the cisco asa 5505) are identical. So it seems to me that some routing magic is missing on the host running racoon at the second remote office. Where would such setting reside? racoon config files? iptables?
I need to make a few folders, but I need the fold name to reflect the time which they were created. For example: if I create a folder at on 2010.06.03 at 13:01:34 then I would need a file name something similar to the following 20100603_130134. In addition, could the same method be used for .tar files? I would like a bash script which I can run to perform the following; however, I am not familiar with scripting in Linux yet.

How do I change the time stamp on videos that I record so that they say what DAY they were recorded instead of just the DATE? I can't find the config file which I assume would be the place to look.
I have two systems running on linux. system one is running with RHEL 5.4/X86_64 hardware, system two is running with RHEL 5.3/i686 hardware. One filesystem is shared from system two and mounted as NFS on system one. Now when i do a copy from local filesystem to the NFS share from system one,it shows as follows

But if i do copy with -p option then it shows right time stamp. Both machines are running with slight(minutes) different in time. Does this could be cause for this problem? The problem is happening while i do FTP from some other machines too.
Newbie 1st post here. Trying to find the most efficient way to copy a file to a different directory and rename it with a date stamp extension. Looking to accomplish this with one command if possible.

I'm trying to find out how to use command substitution along with the date command that when I copy the file to the archive directory it gets renamed with a time stamp extension. It should look something like "make_page_12:00:00-24-10-2010" I've tried a few different combinations using the cp and mv commands but can't seem to get it to work the way I want to.
I need some help recovering from a "slight" screwup. We just moved 3 TB of data from one RAID Array to another. Low lever archive files. This was done with a regular cp (for some reason) and now we have lost all the timestamps on the files, and we urgently need to get the timestamps back on these files.
We are running Ubuntu 9.10 Server and we have mounted the following
1. /mnt/old-raid ##Old raid from the old server 2. /mnt/new-raid ##New raid on the server
I know we can read out the timestamp on the old server using the command stat -c '%Y' <<filname>>
I know we can change the timestamp of the file, using the command touch -d '<<date>>'
To get from the stat -c date to the input date in touch we need to use date -d @<<timestamp>> +'%d %b %Y %R'
So my question is, how can I create a loop that will list all files in a folder, get their timestamp and update the old timestamp with the new?
In the office there is a local network with samba+openldap PDC. The local domain name is company.net. The company desided to create a corporate Website on a remote hosting and desided that the site's domain should be company.net which is same as local network's domain name. So now it is not possible to reach that corporate website from within the company's local network because, as I guess, bind9 which is installed on above menioned PDC looks for company.net on a local webserver. Is there a possibility to let people from this local network browse the remote site?
In the Windows world where I came from, Irfanview freeware easily renamed a large folder of JPEG photos by EXIF time & date stamps, appending a unique number if the time and date stamps were the same. Is there an equivalent rename-by-EXIF information batch command in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid? For example, change (based solely on EXIF information): FROM:DSC_0001.JPG TO:20110224_09:34:56am.JPG
How do we get rid of the "Unsupported Hardware" watermark? The best advice I've found is to download the video driver directly form AMD. So I got this file

I've no idea how to install it, and after I double-click it seems Ubuntu doesn't know what to do with it either. Any ideas?
I recently installed debian 7.6 on my laptop and at first when I booted into the OS gnome went into fallback mode because the driver for my gpu wasn't installed so I went and installed the firmware-linux-nonfree .deb......everything is fine gnome3 works.....I do have a little "lag" when I switch from "windows" to "applications" in the activities menu, but other than that it works good other than the annoying AMD Unsupported Hardware watermark at the bottom right of my screen. I have tried a lot of "fixes" or workarounds, but to no avail.
I just reinstalled Debian 7.6 and the first thing I did was install make, linux headers, and gcc. Then I installed the AMD catylist driver then I rebooted went into recovery mode and input:
