Is there a special "Revocation List" server? Or is Apache ok to use?

May 2, 2011I'm trying to use ssh-keyscan to get some known_host file population going on, but I have a ton of hosts I want to scan, all with multiple aliases in /etc/hosts. Is there a way to use my current /etc/hosts file to do an ssh-keyscan instead of making a special list of hosts that (from what I've read) ssh-keyscan needs?

Server :: Mysqldump: Special Chars Are Not Correctly Saved?
Feb 18, 2011I have some tables that contain special characters from different languages like German, Italian, Russian, Spanish etc. They are stored and displayed correctly.
When want to backup my DB like "mysqldump -h localhost-u root -p dbname > dbname.sql" the special characters are lost, they are not correctly stored nor displayed in the sql file. This means there is no possible restoration.

Dec 9, 2010why I'd be receiving this error. I have created a partition and filesystem and put the label in fstab. Everytime I reboot the server it is unable to mount the filesystem. However I am able to mount it manually.

Feb 2, 2011I try to config my apache server to list all my files: c/c++, php, java files, like the txt file on my server,
e.g /var/www/mydomain/pub
i want to dump all my c/c++, php, java file under the pub directory and I can access it from my domain name,
if I dump txt file, I have no problem to view it, but when I dump c/c++ or php files under pub directory, then I can't view it like regular txt file,
Q: is there anyway I can configure my apache server to view all the c/C++, php, java file as like txt file?

Jan 4, 2010I am connecting servers using NFS4 the shared directories are on servers running Debian 4 while the one who read from them is Debian 5.0.3. The problem is one of these shared servers suddenly stop responding and you cannot list it from Debian 5 server, also df hang, and the web application that is using it does not respond to requests that use this shared directory since it is blocked. Then the load on the server start to increase until the server cannot respond (over 90). I have found many entries in the syslog that refer to this like:

May 17, 2009Myself and a friend have our own small IT business; we mainly design and build web sites for other small businesses. One of the things we would like to offer to clients is the ability to relay email addressed to their company's domain to their own personal email address (either web-based, or hosted by their ISP).
Now, clearly there is a risk of our mail relay being marked as "open", and therefore becoming black listed as a source of spam. Not something that we want to happen!setting up such a system? I understand how I would go about configuring an MTA like Postfix or Sendmail to perform such a task, but I'm unsure how I would ensure that relayed mail is delivered and we're not labeled as spammers.
I did wonder if perhaps the "mail forwarding" options in a mail server like Zimbra would get around the issue by forwarding on messages inline or as attachments within new emails (so the messages would appear to be from the account hosted on our server).

Jan 6, 2010My system is SUSE 11.1 I want to see who is connected via SSH. For instance, I have users connected using FileZilla. I can see in th e/etc/var/messages that they authenticated/connected, but I can't see if they have since disconnected or not.
Also, about 3 years ago I used to use Fedora for my SSH and in the sshd_config I'd make custom logs for each account, specify which user accounts were possible, port number, etc, etc. Is this possible to do using the SUSE linux? Any links on how to do this on suse? I haven't used linux in 3 years and can't find my old sshd_config files to take a glance...I did look at the sshd_config on SUSE, but it looks very different.

Mar 25, 2011I have Samba installed at home. It is sharing some folders through the network..
The problem is that I can access and map those shares with Windows machines... But if I try clicking on the linux server name in the folder tree in order to expand it and show every share available I get an error message saying that the server is unavailable and gives me this: "The procedure number is out of range".
I know the server is available as I can ping it and open the shares (if I type the full address). Is there anything to do with IPC$ share?

Jun 19, 2011I loaded 9.10 version on a test pc. Immediately after the installation and reboot, all of the windows PC's and NAS drives I have (13) showed up under network in Ubuntu. I then proceeded to assign static addressing and loaded updates, Then I couldn't see the windows machines anymore. And this was BEFORE I started modifying the smb.conf file. My Windows workgroup name is not "workgroup". It's odd that all the Win PC's and NAS drives were visible from the out of the box 9.10 install....
