I am working with Ubuntu 10.04 I can't print documents on HP Laserjet 1020 While printing, the jobs shows up in the print queue and disappears without any error, but no printout I tried to install HPLIP 3.10.6 from [URL]I followed the instructions but it ends with the error

I know my way around MS Windows much better, but I just don't feel right trying to program something for Android on a Microsoft operating system. I am interested in Android programming so I followed the instructions on [URL] to install the environment on my computer...
I just installed the JDK, SDK, Eclipse successfully (or I assume):
* When I get to Step 4 where I'm supposed to run 'android' it will not run. I get the error message "android: command not found" (I am definitely in the right directory).
** When I double-click it in nautilus, it opens up in gedit. I can set the permissions in nautilus (through the properties - Allow executing file as a program) and get it to work,

I installed the Berkeley DB on the Ubuntu server and tried to access the dbxml from the command line and it returns command not found

I've just tried to create my first own live-cd using the instructions here: [URL] With the minimal kickstart I get a weird problem though:

Notice that "chmod" and "touch" are part of the package coreutils which gets installed only after these commands are used. I'm seeing a similar problem with selinux being referenced before the libselinux package is installed. I can boot the resulting image but after the kernel boots it panics because it cannot find /dev/root which might or might not have something to do with the errors above.

First time I've done this in awhile Upgrading my Slackware64 -current VM, following the standard routine that has always worked in the past -

slackpkg clean-system
slackpkg install-new
The clean-system removed 2 packages -
util-linux-ng
eggdbus
Installpkg will no longer work, complaining that the rev command is not found. The problem hit with the removal of util-linux-ng. I cp'd util-linux to ~/. Extracted with tar and executed the doinstall. Fixed.

Bash acts weird in 10.04 server. Whenever I try to run .sh scripts, every empty line in the script results in "command not found". which does not work on the invisible directories (why?). When I used ".*" as wildcard it changed all (visible) files including the parent directory (the one I was currently working in which is the "dot") . I can change the invisible directories owner and group using dophin but how is it done from the command line?

I am having problem printing some urgent documents. My fc14 machine cannot seem to see the printer. I loaded Ubuntu Remix onto my Eee PC 1015PE. I tried to install Desktop switcher and it messed up. But now I log into it using the Gnome Session which gives me the better desktop.
However.
The sound works fine though my speakers but when I connect headphones.
The sound stops from the speakers but does not work on the headphones.
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS the lucid lynx

I've recently installed 11.4 with KDE SC on my Eee PC 1015 PED netbook. I've had absolutely no problems with it, but after a reboot the speakers have stopped playing, I can only hear audio via headphones. I tried many settings in systemsettings and YAST, but nothing helps. Here's all the info I need to provide, according to the sticky thread:
