Software :: Php Compilation With Oci8 Gone Wrong / Connecting To X.x.x.x Server?

I have installed apache and oracle 10g R2 and I have compiled php with oci8. After compilation it seems to work fine and my application can connect to oracle database server. But when I reboot my system and browse the same application it gives me " problem connecting to x.x.x.x server".and then If i again compile my php with oci8 then it again works fine. This scenario goes on and on and on.

Squeeze with lxde. Using network-manager-gnome to manage wifi. I have to disconnect from a nearby unprotected AP to connect to my WPA2 AP. It has stored the pw for my AP; I don't have to type it in when I connect, but it always wants to hit the unprotected Motorola AP by default.

I've got a strage problem with openssh-server on debian lenny. I've done setup of sshd and basically everything works fine. I can check the fingerprint of the ssh-keys on the server and it matches with the fingerprint shown on the client for the first connection. so the key is stored in the known-hosts-file on the client.
The problem occurs after a "connection reset by peer" (i guess when the connected client goes to sleep or a timeout occures)!
After such a reset, when I try to connect to the server, the banner "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!" appears and the shown fingerprint of the server-key is totally wrong (it differs from the one on the server, BUT it is everytime when this problem occurs the same fingerprint). If I nevertheless remove the correct key from the known-host-file and accept the new key, I still can't login (permission denied).
To fix this situation temporarily I just need to restart the networking on the server. After the network-restart I get (again) the correct fingerprint of the server-key and can login without problems. Until the next connection reset.

I tried to recompile php with support for oracle extensions oci8.so. Got the source and slackbuild script from slackware repo and just add the following line to the slackbuild script. "--with-oci8=shared,instantclient,/opt/instantclient_11_2". I use instant client from oracle Version 11.2.0.2.0 from this page

I'm having a problem with the oci8 module in PHP. I have been running this server for over a year with this configuration and never had an issue... I had been away since last Thursday, and suddenly this started happening this morning. I'm the only one who has server access, which has me baffled.
I've narrowed it down to the oci8 module because:
* I created a PHP script that does nothing except call oci_login(), which seg faults.
* Any web page that uses the oci functions fails... it asks you to download the PHP file, which is empty (likely because the oci_login call done before anything in PHP is printed).

i am having a issue installing php-oci8. I am using a cesntos 5.5 OS
when i try installing php-oci8 i get this error

so then i checked whether i have php-common 5.2.14 installed it yielded this result

i dont understand why php-oci is not getting installed even though php-common is present.

After installing postfix on my server , all emails sent by a PHP class that i built , are received to spam folder , no matter what i do .am not an expert , except in PHP , the class i built works fine everywhere else except on this server , so i think the problem might be from the server it self ?some told me wrong configuration/software on my server , others told me wrong DNS stuff . actually i don't understand the DNS stuff , and am not an expert in linux softwares and services but i cann install/configure them , so could anyone please check the DNS for problems ?

I'm not exactly new to the linux world. I've been messing with it for six months now. I recently decided to host a public web server out of my home. The is nothing business related merely personal.Now that you have a brief background I will bring you the technical details.I'm apache2 with php, joomla, and mySQL on openSUSE 11.2. a dns server is currently configured. My problem is as follows I set up apache initially and used the default index.html page which simply says It Works. I configured my DNS at the domain registar godaddy.com. After changing the A record to point to my IP the server worked. I then proceeded to install Joomla which installed correctly.Now here is my problem. When I attempt to pull up my domain it appears my DNS is longer working properly and get a DNS error. When I attempt to go directly to IP with my server I still get the initial index.html that says it works. I'm not sure how this is possible and I have cleared all dns info, temp files cookies ect.... I have also had other people test this is as well. I've check my root document pointers for the apache website and they all point to the correct location.
My set up is as follows
Modem
Router
Windows 7 Machine
Sun Microsystems Virtual Box with openSUSE with the network adapter bridged so it can obtain an IP from my router
I'm completely lost at this point and have spent 2 days trying to resolve the issue, any help would be much appreciated. I look forward to everyones reply.

i try to install oci8 for php in suse 10 with this command :
$ cd/opt/oracle -> because the source in this folder
$ pear5 install oci8-1.4.1.tgz
and the result is :

what happen with this command? i can not found glibctestKR4FKZ folder in /tmp and 'phpize'.

I'm using Postgresql 8.4.2-2. I'm trying to remote into my server securely. I figure I could do so with ssh. Apparently I figured correctly, as per, [URL] and [URL] I setup the ssh tunnel. ssh -L 5432:serverip:5432 Then I setup pgadmin3 to connect as follows:
host: localhost
port: 5432
user: postgres
maintenance db: postgres
And I receive the following error:
An error has occurred: Quote: An error has occurred: Error connecting to the server: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.
I'm not sure what the problem is. I can connect with Code: psql from the cli after connecting to the terminal via ssh. So I know that I'm using the correct password.

I want to connect to my debian server through putty, but only i got is the message - Network error: connection refused. I try with different setting on the server and in putty, but there is no effect.

My Fedora Core 8 server came with OpenSSH Server 4.7p1 installed. I could not find a YUM package or RPM for 5.2p1, so I installed it manually and rebooted. Now if I do a version check with "sshd -v", it reports it's version as "OpenSSH_5.2p1", but if I connect with Putty, it reports "SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_4.7". Do I have two versions of OpenSSH running or what's going on?

I have this server that runs Tomcat . this server sends mail with localhost as MTAthe local MTA is sendmail (with the default settings) . from time to time i have this strange thing and the emails it sends never reach the destination. the log shows it left the server , but looking at the logi see that the time on the log is wrong . sometime its correct and ometines its +2 hours. i guess this email are bounced at the destinationfor sending at future time . all this email that didnt reach the destination have this in common

Hey guys. I have a client computer PXE booting from my host computer and it is supposed to give the client the ip address 172.16.0.100 however instead it gives it the ip address 172.16.0.208.
I have this set up working with two other computers and there is no noticeable difference other than mac addresses for the network card.
Here is an extract from my '/etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf' file...

Is there some better way of getting my display size set to 1280x960 when I launch openSUSE 11.4 under VMware Server? Here's what I've done so far: I am running Windows 7 on an AMD Phenom II system (motherboard: Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H). I installed VMware Server (version 2.0.2) so that I can run openSUSE 11.4. The initial install went pretty smoothly. However, the display size was set to 800x500. I attempted to set it to 1280x960 by changing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-monitor.conf file as follows:

There is a note that the vmwlegacy driver does not support the "PreferredMode" setting in the monitor section of the xorg.conf files. For the time being, I have set my horizontal and vertical rates to 60kHz and 60Hz, respectively. This does limit the maximum display size to 1280x960, but for all the wrong reasons. How do I set up my system to get the correct display size?

Every thing works fine When I log in it creates a folder on the server for the user. when the user logs out, it is copying the user data to the server, for example folders like Documents,Favorites and so on.

I am building a BLFS (Beyond Linux from Scratch) system. I am using a Slackware style package management system. Currently I am trying to build xorg-server-1.1.1 but whn it come to finding libfreetype.so its looking in my build directory (/tmp/mybuild/pachage-freetype/usr/lib/) and not /usr/lib/. I checked /usu/lib/pkgconfig and found that my freetype2.pc (amongst others) file was pointing to my build dir so I fixed it (along with all the others). but when I try building again I gat the same error. I checked my $PATH and my $PKG_CONFIG_PATH and both are correct.

I am having problems connecting to my VNC server. The host machine is running fedora core 15.
In the past I have been able to connect to the machine, but for some I no longer can't.
I have done the following but still am unsure what problem is
1. Verfied the VNC server is running
2. Verified my user "trb" is in the vnc users list
3. I have checked that my port is open (at least i think). i launched a terminal and did "telnet 127.0.0.1 5902" and successfully connected.
My vncservers config file which is located in /etc/sysconfig/vncservers

I've set up an FTP server with vsFTPd, and I can connect when on the same machine that the server is running. However, when attempting to connect from another machine on the internet, or even on the same LAN, the connection always fails. Port forwarding on the router is enabled.
