Software :: Launch Kdesvn To Have The Same Repository Loaded In The Same Working Directory?
Apr 28, 2011
In kdesvn there is the Subversion->Ceneral->check out repository and there is also the File->open,
1) what is the difference between these two?
2) Also is there a way every time I launch kdesvn to have the same repository loaded in the same working directory?
3) When I change something into a file should I do file or whole folder commit? I am not sure what will be the best based on that I only write one comment which in the first case associates with the file only and in the latter associates with the whole folder.
I'm trying to launch a root terminal with a profile preloaded, but I'm not yet used to the way gnome handles its syntax, so the default link to root terminal:
Code:
Apparently, the method using gnome-terminal is to add a trailing
Code:
But this did not work, probably because in this case I'm not calling directly on gnome's terminal.
I installed kdesvn. I then connected to my svn server. So far so good. Unfortunately because the connection is through svn it kept asking me for my password. I had put a password on the security locker, it was annoying. I googled how to wipe the security locker so I could reset the password. This is where my troubles start. I used rm ... /kde/path/to/locker
When I did this, kdesvn stopped asking for my password and times out with an error when trying to connect. I then uninstalled kdesvn and kompare, then used rm .. /kde. I then reinstalled kdesvn and the problem isn't fixed. How do I do a completely fresh installation of kdesvn + locker so that it will start asking for my password again?
long time ago that I tried to use my DVB-T Stick with Fedora. In past there was a work-out, drivers to compile and so on... That behaviour is GREATLY enhanced in F12, very nice!
The only thing that a had to do was downloading the firmware, the other stuff remains by kernel and so on automatically. I WAS impressed.
But it doesnt matters what kind of programm/tool I used, nowhere was my DVB-T stick recognized. And for result of that, Im not able to view TV... What the heck is now going on?
No errors, driver correctly loaded, but nothings works?
Here is the dmesg-message, U can see everthing looks okay:
Code:
Here is the message when I start kdetv, that program tries /dev/vbi0
How can i find the default repository directory ?? one of the reasons why i need to know this is so that i can place any new downloaded .rpm files in that directory and then use > yum install filenameto install that package .. (does that make sense ?? is that a good idea ??)I just installed a new linux and i am trying to get familiar with the enviroment I know that yum gets the source directories from /etc/yum.repos.d but i really couldnt understand the files in there.
if i had a set of dvd's with ubuntu software repositories on them, but i didn't want to have to eject and load a new disc everytime i wanted to install packages with dependencies over several discs. would i be able to copy the discs to my harddrive and set up synaptic to use a location on my harddrive with subfolders containing packages? i tried these instructions [URL] but they seem to get a bit blurry when it gets to the part that i'm interested in ie. nfs (works only if the computer is connected to a NFS share)

2.how to install total packages by using repository through yum command what are the steps to update and remove the packages
I came from the Debian world so I did not do much building software from source. I successfully built wine from source, now the wine binary is in the same directory where the Makefile and all of the other source stuff is. I can run wine from that directory fine, but I sort of want to move it somewhere else. I tried moving the wine binary somewhere else, but when I try to run it I get
[code]...
What all do I have to move into the new directory to get wine working in the new directory? By convention, where should I move wine, I want it available for all users, should I move it to /opt/wine, or /usr/local/wine, or somewhere else?
So I'm running what I believe to be the latest version of Ubuntu Server Edition 10.04 Lucid Lynx.
1. How do I find what version I'm running on the command line?
As it is, Sun's JDK was removed so I need to add it per the release notes.
However, following the instructions and running this command:
Code: sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner" Computer reply's with "command not found". Running a whereis on add-apt-repository, it appears it is not installed.
I have a new install of opensuse 11.2 with gnome as desktop & gdm as window manager. Login OK. I added the Gnome community repositories & packman & ran an update. Now, with gdm login gives just wallpaper & no desktop. If I change to xdm as window manager I can login OK. The installed version of gdm is gdm-2.28.2-1.3.i586.
I want to move my working copy of an SVN repository from /usr to /homeCan I just move the repository using mv or is there something else that needs to be done? The same goes for deleting a working copy of a repository, if I wanted to delete my working copy could I just go ahead and delete it or is there some administration that needs to be done first?
I installed a new source for multimediaI made the necessary updatessome paquets were created other were deleted. And now I don't have any sound, when it was working before I added the new repository
I tried to install emergent using following guide:[URL](Ubuntu) However, I did not succeed, it seems that it could not install emergent properly. My far worse problem now is that it messed up my software center and update manager. I get following error message when starting the software-center:
Code:

Suse 11.0 nvidia software repository not working when the updater is run, and it gives an error message which indicates it must be out dated and no longer used. Here is the site in my repository for nvidia; [URL], I did try to add a new nvidia repository site with that Yast tool, but I could not get it to fully work. The new one I did find was as a ftp type, not [URL]. With this older Suse 11.0, and kernel 2.6.25.20-0.7-pae, then is it true that there may not be any more nvidia display driver updates available.? So then I should just remove that nvidia repository from the list, and be okay if the kernel does not update too much newer version, right ?
I have Fedora 13 in a VPS. I cannot work with yum. I got this error: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try # yum list Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. verify its path and try again.
I am trying to configure DNS on my CentOS 5. When i am trying to install BIND using YUM, i am getting the following error.

It mentioned bug report but I don't know where that is. I'll try later.
Today I installed Fedora12 from the DVD, so this is my first contact with all of you. The last years I ran very well with gentoo, but the time for system maintenance got to big the last few times I updated the system, so I decided to change and here am I. The Problem: My system is newly installed from the DVD and I was trying to run the first update, but got the following errormassage by KPackageKit:
Code: Error Type: Error Value: Error getting repository data for installed, repository not found File : /usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/yum/yumBackend.py, line 3125, in main() File : /usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/yum/yumBackend.py, line 3122, in main backend.dispatcher(sys.argv[1:]) File : /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/packagekit/backend.py, line 710, in dispatcher self.dispatch_command(args[0], args[1:])
[Code]...
It occured after informing me about the amount of packages that need to be updated and a message about some dependencies that have to be newly installed. At the moment I'm a bit lost about what to do. Also I realy don't know which system-information would be useful - let me know and I will answer.
I installed Fedora 13 in my new system from DVD image. Now I want to update all repositories. I coul'nt update. error message as below: Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. verify its path and try again
I installed FC10, but do not find xfig (command not found)..then I do password:xxxxxxx, and then do the following $yum install xfig, and I get the following error Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit [URL].. [Errno 14] HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized Trying other mirror. Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: adobe-linux-i386.
yum is completely broken. I cannot install or update any software. yum is always throwing:
Code: Loaded plugins: presto, refresh-packagekit Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=free-fedora-12&arch=x86_64 error was 14: PYCURL ERROR 7 - "" Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rpmfusion-free. Please verify its path and try again I have tried globally to disable the gpg check as stated in other threads. I have no proxies or such in yum.conf or in my bashrc. If I manually click on the link it will resolve in firefox so I am sure it is not my net connection per se, it seems yum or curl is adding a : to the end of the url thats why it wont resolve properly.
I have done a yum clean all , which didnt really help either. reinstalling the rpmfusion repos isnt an option either as I start getting curl errors in the terminal. I am really at a loss here and am completely out of ideas as I cant install any updates or software , at first I thought the repositories were having problems with the holidays but this has been going on for 4 days now. /var/log/messages isnt showing anything either.
