View 1 RepliesIs there a way to send personalized bulk emails ? That is sending mails to a group of people without each of them knowing about each other's email address (without using BCC). Also, with each person having only his own mail address in the 'To' field.
the way may be like setting any option in hotmail.com or via any mail client [thunderbird is preferd]or via any add-on for browser or mail-client.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to using rsync to backup some files, about half a TB. It's now it a state where it keeps sending the same files everytime it runs. for example:
rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest
sending incremental file list
source/file1.txt
source/file2.txt
I then verify those files are copied over. then the next time it runs it does the same thing
rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest
sending incremental file list
source/file1.txt
source/file2.txt
any idea why it's getting stuck on these files? I've tried to wipe the whole dest directory out and start over but no luck.
Formerly it was possible to send attached files using the "-a" option eg. mailx -a /home/yan/textfile [URL]. (I think -a stood for "attached". At the time the "-a" option figured as an option for sending attached files. Now it is an option for sending headers. how one can now send attached files using mailx?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy two machines are both running Ubuntu 10.10. I want to transfer program files between them using a local area network.
My Ubuntu machines can both see the Window machines on the network, and get files from them. But my Ubuntu machines do not detect each other as being on the network. Nor can my Windows machines detect my Ubuntu machines.
From what I can tell, that's normal, and I've become resigned to using a pendrive to transfer files between the two machines. Or even sending files as email attachments.
there is a clean and easy way to transfer files between two Ubuntu machines on the same local area network.
How do you send files, save or other wise write to CD using Mandriva Linux? On windows you get a helper menu. Linux does not offer this option in it's helper file and you can't click and drag a file in the CD folder. The dialog box reads "you do not have permission to write to this folder" when I try to drag it in and I can't change the permission signed in as Root.I don't have a clue. I wish Linux Questions would add a emotioncon that has the expression " what the hell buddy? are you on ten hits of acid?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Windows I've been using XMPlayer for that purpose. XMPlayer has got a rar plugin and it works as expected.I stumbled across this plugin for Audacious but I'm not sure it's relatedhttp://kittylambda.com/rsn_plugin_for_audaciousI've ran XMPlay succesfully with wine with the rar plugin and it actually works (a bit slower but it works). But what I'm missing is integration with nautilus since drag and drop won't work from nautilus to XMPlayer. I have to navigate to the rar file manually on the file-open window and since Nautilus puts it's mounts on /home/[username]/.gvfsit's a bit cumbersome.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt seems there is a bug with F13Files send over Bluetooth to my WM phone are corrupted. When I send files, the Bluetooth transfer starts normal, then when the transfer finishes the window stays open (like it does not complete the transfer).I am unable to run or use that files on the WM (they are binary or data) so I assume they are corrupted. I have no problem with Ubuntu/Opensuse (I have a test disk with Ubuntu and OpenSuse) only with F13.

The problem is with Bluetooth connectivity to my cell phone device. It connects to the cell phone and set trusted but I can't seem to see any option of "Browse files on Device".Does that mean in KDE I actually can not browse my Bluetooth connected devices? The same thing happened with Mandriva2010-Kde and Fedora13 Kde , I mean I guess It's related to KBluetooth app.

I am using KDE. I found many complaints about the same problem, but they all date from 2007-2008, so I guess this is not the same problem.
The computer and phone are paired, and transfer starts, but after 4096 bytes it says:Transfer finished with an error: Error sending object. I'm running 64-bit Lucid and Maemo 5 on the phone. Here are some of the things I've tried, following the docs, and the errors I get:

The bluetooth manager does not detect a bluetooth dongle .trying to use ndiswrapper to fix.I installed device manager and the results are shown below.i downloaded the windows driver suite. It has 4 .exe self extracting driver archives and a setupconfig.ini. The .ini file is below.I was able to extract one of the 32bit archives on a windows machine and it had about 8 .inf files that are titled weird and would not install properly using ndiswrapper probably because im using the 64-bit architecture. there are 2 64bit .exe's in the driver download, but how can i extract them in ubuntu and do i really need to install all 8 .inf files. also do i actually need to make a .inf file? if so how?
