How would I go about compiling this version as it's not on the official repo?
After Ubuntu autoupgraded my Apache, some VHosts are nor working anymore and PHP Code is not oarsed any longer. I think the apache2.conf was overwritten. I do not have a clue how ti fix that, I tried some things but now I am stuck. I have only three hosts: the default, an svn (over port 443) and one called "imcar" which has PHP scripts to be parsed.
So, in my apache2.conf I have this:
Code:
DocumentRoot /var/www
ServerName localhost
The imcar host is set up like this:
Code:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName imcar
ServerAdmin webmaster@imcar
DocumentRoot /var/www/imcar
<Directory /var/www/imcar>
Options FollowSymLinks Indexes
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
allow from all
</Directory>
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/imcar-error.log
LogLevel warn
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/access.log combined
ServerSignature On
</VirtualHost>
If I go to imcar in the browser, the default DocumentRoot is shown. If I remove the default DocumentRoot, I get a 404 on imcar.
I have a PCI compliance notice sitting here telling me to upgrade to Apache 2.2.17. Thing is, Ubuntu is quite happy sitting on 2.2.16 (Ubuntu).
I understand that the Ubuntu folks' reasoning in rolling security updates back to 2.2.16, but I need to get an automated scan to shut up.
I'm a bit new to installing/upgrading on Linux/Centos so apologies if I've made a basic mistake here.I've searched around for the answer to this question but not found it - but apologies if this has been discussed in the forum before. The issue is that I want to upgrade Apache to version 2.2.12 or higher, because I want to install a second SSL domain on the same IP address. According to this page [URL].. you can do that from version 2.2.12.
Incidentally I've got Centos 5.4 installed. So I've had a little browse around with yum and did a "yum list *httpd* with gave me the following

I am currently trying to upgrade the Apache installation on our server from v2.2.14 to v2.2.19 using:
[URL] as a guide.
Unfortunately I seem to have hit some walls. When trying to execute ./config.nice I get the following error:
./config.nice: 33: /build/buildd/apache2-2.2.14/configure: not found
Google have not yielded any results as yet. If I leave out this step and use configure, make and make install, v2.2.19 gets installed, but to a different directory and all the config will need to be reformatted as it seems it does not use the Ubuntu Apache config structure.
The Payment Card Institute (PCI) is requiring our site to upgrade to the latest versions of Apache, Mysql, OpenSSL, and PHP to fix known bugs that can compromise securityI can build all these from source, but when I do "make install" they don't mimic at all what is installed (directory format, files, etc) when I do apt-get install (of whatever old versions are in the dist).How can I find out how the packages are build via configure/make so that I can replicate the files, directory structure, etc, just with the current versions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am upgrading my server and I have a lot of sites. Since I cannot take my server down for a few days, maybe a week until I manage to migrate all the sites to the new machine, I figured I could migrate them one by one. After migrating one, I would somehow tunnel the requests of that name virtual host to my internal machine. When everything is migrated, I would then switch the machines, update ip's and stuff and everything will work just fine.
However I cannot seem to find a way to do this tunneling. is this at all possible? If not, what alternatives do I have?
I'm going through a tutorial here to help me know how to wander around my system in the terminal and just understand better on a general level.
I'm trying to simply figure out how to compile and run some software from source. I get to my directory where the then installed binary sits. I understand I'm supposed to enter in the command:
Quote:
./units
where 'units' is the name of my binary. But I then get the output:
Quote:
units: can't find units file '/usr/local/share/units.dat'
...what? Why does it refer to that directory that's WAY out there? It seems like it's trying to outguess me on something? I don't know. Anyone out there that does? I'd appreciate an explanation, and help to know what to do to run this binary.
I am installing Big Brother on a CentOS 5.2 running the default Apache 2.2.3. When I try to access any web page I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at fmsubbnix Port 80 So far I have:
1) Set the Directory options to FollowSymLinks
2) Verified all directory and file permissions are at 755
3) Set permissions temporarily to 777 and received same error so I am assuming the issue is in a config file somewhere
4) in hhtpd.conf verified <Files ~ "^.ht"> is correct
5) verified the "default" directory is correct (/var/www/html)
I have read and tried several ideas in posts listed on the web but to no avail and am at a loss as to what to look for next..
Is it possible to convert/recompile an already compiled x86 binary into an ARM binary?I'm using a BeagleBoard with a command-line Ubuntu (Maverick) and want to run a Ventrilo server but the x86 executable they supply cannot be run on the hardware as far as I can tell (most likely due to differing architecture).Unfortunately I don't have access to the source to allow me to recompile it natively.

I am trying out an open source software According to its installation instruction, "Linux users with an x86 compatible platform can use the frozen package for a quick installation (Just unpack the tar file in directory an start the faces binary). View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a binary value which I receive from a controller. Say this binary value is 42. Just plain hex 42. If you would look at that byte in a debugger you would see 42.Now this value hold 8 bits each indicating a high or a low output. So 0x42 = 01000010b. Which means bits 1 and 6 are '1'.When I would want to find out which bits are set and which are not in a language like C, I simply do:
Code:
mask = 0x80;
if (binval & mask) {...}
etc..
However I am programming in TCL, and I try to do:
Code:
set mask 0x80
if { [expr ($binval & $mask) > 0] } {...}
etc...
this fails. At the moment the expr is executed, $binval is evaluated and substituted so the expression I am evaluating is
Code:
set mask 0x80
if { [expr ('B' & '0x80') > 0] } {...}
etc...
Eventually I got it working by converting the $binval into a '0x42' string value, like this:
Code:
binary scan $binval c byte
set byte [format "0x%0x" $byte]
set mask 0x80
if { [expr ($byte & $mask) > 0] } {...}
etc...[
Then the expression yields what I want. But this seems so stupid and clumsy. Isn't there a better way where I can compare two binary values without conversions?
