How to install SUMO software in Fedora 10. I am not able to get the steps required for installing SUMO in Fedora 10. Also I am not getting the libraries required for SUMO in Fedora 10. I am getting for Fedora 14 and 15. I want source for Fedora 10.
My system is Fedora 13 XFCE spin on DELL laptop Inspiron 1440 (1st column). Urban Terror was installed by Yum. While playing, the screen suddenly freezes, nothing moves. The sound seem to work but very very slow (eg. the normal sound is A B C D ... now the sound becomes AAAAAAAAA BBBBBBB CCCCCCCCC DDDDDDDD .....................). The mouse don't response but the keyboard seem to response: I try press '~' key, then press 'q' and 'tab', finally 'enter', the sound stops, the mouse cursor appears (so I think I quitted UT) but the screen don't change (still game screen). So I try "Ctrl + Alt + Backspace" to execute "xfce4-session-logout --halt" (this shortcut is set by me. Default there is not this shortcut. I try to set a shortcut to restart X server but find no way. So I set it to this command, this seem to log out rather than to restart the X server.). The screen become clear (black) and the log in screen mouse cursor appears (the mouse cursors on login screen and on desktop are different), but nothing more displays. As you know, on login screen there is a panel at the bottom with a button on the right. When we click this button, it shows a popup menu from that we can restart or shutdown. So I try to click on the bottom right of the screen on position of this button, then click on above it a little, the system shuts down (or restarts) with the splash screen (the blue screen with the Fedora logo) => the login screen still works but not displays What is my problem, how can I fix it?
I have to install GrooveNet which is a vehicular network simulaor. I have downloaded it from GrooveNet Vehicular Network Simulator :: University of Pennsylvania & Carnegie Mellon there is a set-uo guide but I have a problem. I have to open the project within KDevelop or go to the src directory and type "make". When I try to build the project the answer is this one: make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/qt3/mkspecs/default/qmake.conf', needed by `Makefile'. Stop. what can I do?
When I put my laptop, a Presario X1000 to sleep that uses Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500], when it comes back up, I get just black and white "nosie" on the screen.
Even after I do cntr+alt+F1 and then cntrl+alt+F7 it still doesn't appear to restore the regular screen.
Program for simulating planetary movements, especially the movement of a planet in a binary system. It would be nice if the program has some kind of visualisation but I could do that myself. I searched sourceforge but only found several windows programs and Linux programs still in alpha phase, which didn't work for me.
Was wondering if any of you solved this weird problem before. Currently, I am running Kubuntu 10.10 and I can't seem to get Urban Terror up and running. I've checked the usual stuff... That's the chmod +x as well as disabling my desktop effects but I still can't run Urban Terror. In fact when I run it, it does go into full screen mode (with a black background) before returning to my desktop with the program terminated.
i am new to linux especially to openSUSE 11.2 . I have just installed latest openSUSE 11.2 on my lenovo t60 and when i start desktop effects KDE crashes non stop . After some googling i found that either the driver for Mobility FireGL V5250 is hidden very well or no one use this vga with desktop effects . I have tried using drivers for openSUSE 11.1 but the kde was barely running, everything was very very slow.
Does someone have a magick trick to make this card runs well on linux lspci shows this:01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M880G [Mobility Radeon HD 4200]Ive tryed the ati binaries and its very bad.It takes a delay to switch from window to window and when tryed to play video it plays in slow motion doesnt matter what I do.Some ideas?I dont want 3d things only a good 2d performance.
i have tons of computers running and my best one cant play the oldest games. My old P3 can play these games and this computer cant.

So basically a 2GHz machine with 2Gigs of ram and a Geforce 8300. I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty i think ?). Anyway all of the basic games dont work well, they are choppy and slow. I put them in the lowest resolution just for them to be playable. It does not make any sense to me I have the latest version of the nvidia drivers running (I used ./NVI... --update)
[Code]....
This program is used to configure the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver. Copyright (C) 2004 - 2010 NVIDIA Corporation. The only thing I can think of is a crappy video card ? but still i should be able to run these old games.
I just bought a new ASUS laptop with the Mobility Radeon HD 5470 card.It seems like there's no driver for it yet (the amd.com download wizard is a dead end because I only find the HD 4000 series).
Is there anything I can do to get support for this card? At least I'd like to be able to change resolution. Or do I simply have to wait for a new ATI driver?
HP Compaq 6820s: During the installation of F14 I noticed that the system freezes for a while every few seconds. The installed and rebooted laptop behaves the same way. Disturbing repeated messages in var/log/messages:

I installed Fedora 11 on my HP Pavillon ze5000 laptop that according to Windows has "ATI Mobility Radeon" video. Words on the screen are not readable because words are moving arouInd on the screen very fast (I think horizontally back and forth by a dozen pixels or so).
I have with the Videocard of one of my laptops. This laptop has a Mobility Radeon X600 card (RV380 based). I always had 3D hardware acceleration with mesa (at least in Fedora 12 and 13), but now it doesn't work. Boot seems normal, but reviewing the logs, I see this in the Xorg.0.log (after loading the radeon modues):
[Code]....
I don't have hardware acceleration, so no compositing and no gnome-shell I tried with both 7.9.1 and 7.9.2 versions of mesa-dri-driver (and its libs). The xorg-x11-drv-ati version is 6.13.1-0.3.20100705git37b348059.fc14
I am trying to learn using MOVE simulator and getting this problem: In the Traffic Model Generator under Static Mobility I import the MOVE trace file and map file. But when I try to save the tcl script(File->Save or SaveAs) I get the following exceptions: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string:
"1.00" at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(NumberFormatException.java:48) at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:458) at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:499)
[code].....
As a result the trace file that gets generated is empty.
I have recently installed the STEP physics simulator in my Ubuntu, I found it excellent, but I faced a big problem: fonts of notes and meters won't appear in the simulation window! Here is how it should be: URL...and here is how it displays:URL...
I am an undergraduate student doing some work in Cambridge, MA on NS2. As my project/paper relates to simulating different types of applications like FTP, RTP, and SIP, as they relate to commercial products (VoIP, email, bittorrent, http) and congestion, I was wondering if anyone knows of any simulation models already available besides the example ones released by NS2 and the contributed code found at [URL]. Also, does anyone know of any tcl scripts that simulate specific applications (including the transport layer and Internet layer)? I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and NS2 2.34
i have a doubt about NS3, can use the actual network card of my computer in the simulator NS3, that is, if my network card can behave as programmed into the simulator.
I'm beginning to write a custom RTP implementation and want to test its resilience to UDP traffic. I've searched on the web and all the links I can find are for analysing actual traffic, not generating it or messing it up.
Does anyone know of any software (preferably free software) that will, for example, take actual UDP traffic and drop packets, duplicate some and make some arrive late/out of sequence?
I want to change parameters of a RED queue during the simulation but it seems that some parameters can be modified only before starting the simulation, not dynamically, while the simulation is in progress. For example the following subroutines works before $ns run command but it do not change the behavior of the queue during the simulation( I want to change maxthresh_ and thresh_ after $ns
run command): Code: proc setREDParameters { redQueue MINth MAXth PER_MaxP Wq } { $redQueue set thresh_ $MINth $redQueue set maxthresh_ $MAXth
