Debian :: Change Indent Size In Mousepad?

Sep 27, 2010

I really enjoy using Mousepad for my programming. A lot of you might stare at me for a second, but I really do like it. I do use Medit from time to time for it's tabbed interface and syntax highlighting. I know Mousepad doesn't have syntax highlighting but I figure if I know how to program without relying on the colors, then I can understand the structure and dynamics of a programming language's syntax.how can I change the indent size on Mousepad? It seems to be at 8 and that seems like too much of an indent. When I have to go over to my Windows machine, my indent size is 4 there on Notepad++, as is Medit here on Linux.

General :: Voice To Command & Text/command To Voice Programs?

Mar 14, 2011

Does anyone know of a commercial program that will run on openSUSE?I need something that is fairly user friendly, identifies individual voices, and does not require Wine. The machine is to be completely controlled by voice and would be programmed to issue vocals in response to vocal requests for what is in the various databases and I/O software, such as motion control and other sensor subsystems. In other words, a program that lends itself to AI robotics.I do not have the time to develop CMSphinx, and I am willing to pay. I have been on a few sites but they are cryptic as far as the technicals, which I do not fully understand anyway.

Ubuntu :: Command Line - Find And Replace Text Within Multiple Files?

Aug 28, 2010

I'm pretty sure this is doable from the command line, but my CLI skills have degraded a lot since my pre-Y2K admin days. The goal is to search all the files in the directory for a very long string of text and replace it with another string of text. The text being searched for is my Google Adsense code (which will be stripped from my website) and it will be replaced with a placeholder so I can easily tack something else in there in the future.

Seeing how I have that long snip of code on about 100 pages, automating the process would make life easier.
If I was searching for a single word, I can see ways to do this.
If I paste the code I'm searching for into a text file, is there a way to:
find (contents of oldstring.txt) and replace with (contents of newstring.txt)?

General :: Selecting A Font When Printing A Text File From The Command Line?

Jul 29, 2011

I don't understand why this is so difficult. In the old days, there was lpforms which allowed some formatting. CUPS did not see fit to implement this into it's lp package.cgi-...-cgi?lpforms+1In the old days, lpr allowed you to select a font in the command line with -1=fontname. CUPS did not see fit to implement this into it's lpr package.htmIn the old days, printers had fonts installed on them that you could access. Modern printers don't seem to have this. So now I still need to be able to select a font when I print certain text files from the command line but it seems this is impossible. I've been working with instances and lpoptions, which allows me to do a lot of other things I need like orientation and margins and even set the font size, but I still cannot choose a font other than the default.
