Apr 8, 2011I've been searching Google for a bit now, and either I'm too stupid or too tired to figure out the perfect search term for it.Im looking for a reference list of HTTP header info -- e.g, I have a program on Firefox that I can modify to send any header info i want "Safari, Mozilla, Internet Explorer" that sort of thing -- so a web site will believe Im using IE when in fact I am using Firefox.Does anyone have a reference of what the available "official" headers are? Also, a list of "OS header" responses would be nice, so I could fool something in believing I am a windows 3.1 machine.

May 2, 2011I have a problem installing CentOS 5.5 over lan. I set up a dhcp3 server and it works, client got an ip. I set up a tftpd-hpa server and it works, client can boot the install image of CentOS 5.5 I set up an apache server and it seems to be impossible... In the installation marathon I clicked through the menu to the choice of the web server where my installation files are available. I enter the ip 192.168.138.1 and the path CentOS-5.5 and CentOS tells me "Unable to retrieve http://192.168.138.1//CentOS-5.5/images/stage2.img" . Thats right because the two slashes are not right. Where the hell come the two slashes from???
I edited my httpd.conf like this:

May 30, 2011My computer shares an internet connection using an ADSL router.There are other three machines.I have set up a Apache server for learning purpose and I want it to be inaccessible from anywhere else including the PCs in the network.When I enter my ip-address assigned in the network (192.168.1.1xx) from other computer,I get my ppages and I dont want that.

Aug 12, 2011I was running Kubuntu Natty Narwhal installed on my USB disk and a download in Firefox was in progress. There was a power failure and now when i try to boot it up it first says:invalid environment block and when continued says: /tmp not yet readyIt cannot automatically fix it. Skipping the mount or ignoring doesnt work. And i dont know what's going on so i cannot fix it manually.

Debian Programming :: Python-TK Alloc - Invalid Block Error
Sep 23, 2015Just installed Debian 8 last night and trying to run one a few of my scripts that use easygui (a front-end for python-tk basically) and I keep getting alloc: invalid block any time a file or folder selection dialog is presented. I'm able to select a file/folder with no issues, but once the dialog closes I get a variation of what appears to be a memory error followed by alloc: invalid block.
Here's one of my scripts that does it. This one pops up a file selection dialog pretty early on to ask for a file to check, and as soon as I select any file the dialog closes and that error appears in the terminal. It happens whether I run it with Python 2 or Python 3. You will need to install python3-easygui for this script to run properly if you want to check for yourself what happens. This is a first time encountering this error for me.

May 4, 2011I'm running 11.04 off of a 32gb flash drive. Something about grub on my install is messed up. When trying to boot after a normal shutdown, I get the following errors.

error: invalid arch independent ELF magic
I think something about grubenv under /boot/grub is being corrupted. Loggin in under Ubuntu 10, I can make my way to the files on the 11.04 flash drive and issue the following commands to make it boot normally [URL]... file corruption happening? How can I fix it?

May 18, 2010I've had a very colorful morning learning the innerparts of Linux's sort command, and have come across yet another issue that I can't seem to find an answer for in the documentation. I'm currently using -t, to indicate that my fields are split by the comma character, but I'm finding that in some of my files, the comma is used (between double-quotes) within values:
Jonathan Sampson,,foo@bar.com,0987654321
"Foobar CEO,","CEO,",ceo@foobar.com,,
How can I use a comma to terminate my fields, but ignore the occurences of it within values? Is this fairly simple, or do I need to re-export all of my data using a more-foreign field-terminator? (Unfortunately, I do not have any control over declaring a different terminator with this particular project).

Dec 27, 2010I have installed a fresh copy of FC14 and when I logged in locally for the first time I was getting the error messages below. Now these same messages are filling up my messages log and it's running non stop in the background. Has anyone seen anything on this error? I have searched through Google looking for help and I'm not finding much.
This box is a simple file/web server with no monitor hooked up and no GUI. I have also included the lspci ouput below if that might help. Really looking for any suggestions or input on how I might stop the error reporting since is filling up my log files quickly.

Mar 3, 2010Have been running ubuntu for sometime now and love its functionality...However since a recent update have the following issues..When I power on the laptop I get the toshiba logo followed by grub loading with the message ' invalid enviroment block" "unable to load default boot entries". When I then try to run the laptop off a LiveCd, the ubuntu splash screen appears with the loading process bar (horizontal line) displayed..however it then appears to display a black screen with no further activity..Now all of this is via an external monitor as my laptop screen shows no activity right from the very start with just a blank screen....so am really stuck here wondering if its a harware/software issue or a combination of both...

Aug 4, 2010I installed Nagios on my Ubuntu 10.04 server using apt-get and when I accessed the web console, everything was OK. I made some changes to apache (creating some new virtual sites) and since then Nagios gives me a warning message for HTTP with the message, HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found. The sites that I created are working perfectly. I noticed that the attemps are 4/4. Does this need to be reset or does Nagios automatically reset that once it detects the issue is resolved?

Ubuntu Installation :: Grub And 9.04 - Error "invalid Command" Or "invalid Execution Format"
Aug 16, 2011Bottom Line: Dvd Drive died in my toshiba laptop and it was replaced (not before tech for some reason reformatted the Win7 partition... which was 100% un-needed, but thats beside the point now. I redid win7 (the tech installed vista) and am TRYING to "redo grub". Facts: The Slackware AND Ubuntu Partitions ARE STILL THERE and when i use SuperGrub Boot CD (which doesn't restore my grub by itself) to boot into slackware, i can see ALL THE CONTENT of both Linuxes still there including grub on ubuntu partition
(Tri-Boot: Ubuntu, Slackware, and WIn7) I had it working for two years or so, SO i know this "setup" works fine. I am A) Trying to do this as simply as possible. B) Trying to avoid the need to download a 800MB ISO (as seen for this issue on this forum) and trying not to have to reformat Ubuntu Partition (though I have the .Debs I have downloaded for it backed up ... all 1.7GB of them) I have /dev/sda1 as win7, /dev/sda2 as Slack and /dev/sda3 as Ubuntu (which contains Grub Legacy).. Every command I do seems to result in an error like "invalid command" or "invalid Execution format " (i think that second one is right) type errors. I compiled (awhile back) a few kernels for Slackware, but feel goofy that I cant figure what i this out (what i thought was going to be a "2 minute" fix)

Example:
If the input file record is FEDERAL PACIFIC ELECTRIC PRODUCTS then I want to keep DERAL I can do this in four steps by using C, REV, C, and REV again but that seems like doing an easy thing the hard way. Is there a straightforward way to achieve this result with C or some other command?

You can see there are many more form fields than I have shown in my example html form above. What I want is that the following fields have to be filled:

I would like the user to be asked to fill the form in properly if any/all of the 3 fields have not been filled in. I imagine I need some php in the html page and some more in the php page. I am certainly not asking any one to do this for me but I am really confused. I have googled and copied and pasted and edited for 6 hours and I am lost. What I want is a very simple and clear example of the code needed. Sorry if I sound as if I can't search properly on Google: in this case I clearly can't!
