Is there any software for Linux that functions like Internet Radio Recorder and captures audio? If so, how come I cannot find anything in the Arch (ArchBang) repositories (seeing as though both distros use the same package manager and repos)?
View 4 RepliesI am wondering if any in the Ubuntu community owns a Carmen Car Radio player by Livio Radio. The program to save internet radio to the device is written in Java, however I am not able to run it either using WINE or using Open JDK.
The Carmen Player does work well with Banshee, it is the internet radio that is not working.
I am a Mac user who has been using Audio Hijack Pro for many years. I use it to record radio shows from the station I work at. One of the nice features is that it has a built in scheduler that I use to record shows at different times and dates.[URL]

I've installed PulseAudio Volume control and selected monitor of internal analog stereo. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a Mac user who has been using Audio Hijack Pro for years to do my scheduled radio recordings. I have a radio hooked up to my Mac that I record shows from. I am looking for a similar GUI solution in Linux and so far have come up empty. I would think that there would be something out there that I can use and hopefully someone on this forum can shed some light on this for me. I am seriously thinking of switching over to Ubuntu full time and this is the only thing that is preventing me to do so. Too bad because I hear so many good things about Linux, and so far I really like it.

Q-See will soon be shipping the QSPD4104 video/audio capture card that can capture both video and audio from 4 camera/microphone combos. (They also have the QSPD4114 with 16 a/v inputs) Is there surveillance software that can record both video and audio from multiple camera/microphone combos?

View 4 Replies View RelatedVery inexperienced user of Linux. I am using openSUSE 11.3 (64-bit version). My audio card is Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe version). I just installed some ALSA patches (alsa-driver-kmp) as suggested in this thread: Driver for Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe) and I am now able to listen to CD music. However I am still having problems with Internet radio. For instance, when I go to AccuRadio | Internet Radio You Control and pick the Classical channel, another window pops up but the music is not streaming. Am I missing some other driver?

Unfortunately, internet is not easily accessible from where I live unless you have a home connection (which is quite expensive) or you connect to a Cyber Cafe (not really convenient). I've checked some really good tools like FM Radio and Rhythmbox which require internet in order to stream radio stations directly.I'm quite fond of FM Radio, though recently an old radio broke down and I thought a netbook could help (although I admit I bought the netbook for writing scripts and stories solely). Although it's funny that an old technology can do what's it's meant to do, while a newer one (PC's) depend on internet alone.
What I was wondering is that since HP Mini 210 has a wireless access capability isn't it capable of catching FM Radio waves like an old radio without depending on internet connectivity? If it is capable of it, how do I do that?

I am seemingly having a problem with the command "vlc://quit". I have an .sh file which accesses a streaming url. If I leave "vlc://quit" in the .sh file it executes immediately - i.e. supposedly goes through all the preceding commands but closes down (quits) before anything happens. If I take it out everything is fine ( vlc opens, finds, plays/records & stops). But, of course, I'm left with vlc still open.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems mounting an Edirol R-09HR digital audio recorder (as a USB drive, to read the recording files) on a system running openSUSE 11.2. fdisk or other partitioning tools recognize the device as a "W95 FAT32" drive with a filesystem code of 0b, apparently. I was under the impression that mounting this as a vfat file system should work, but the mount command dies complaining "FAT: bogus number of reserved sectors" and "VFS: Can't find a valid FAT file system." This happens even with a freshly formatted card in the recorder. The device mounts properly with Windows XP systems and late-model Ubuntu/Kubuntu systems, Any clews as to what I'm doing wrong here?

In Ubuntu I've downloaded Amarok, MPlayer, Rhythm box, Streamtuner, & VLC, but am not going to live long enough to figure out how to stream with any of them (although "S os melhores" plays OK). how to stream this & any other WMP station. No problem with Flash stations such as [URL] by the way.
