Jun 3, 2010My brother is thinking of installing Slackware64 13.1 on his laptop. He was wondering though how to configure his wireless card. How would he do this? He is using an Intel wireless card, but I am unsure of the exact model. Another question is would Wicd do this automatically or do you still have to use either iwconfig or wpa_supplicant and edit the corresponding config files?

I have tried copying "libflashplayer.so" into the following directory.
/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins
Firefox still does not see the plug-in.
I verified that I did download the 64-bit version of the plug-in from the Adobe site.
flashplayer10_2_p3_64bit_linux_111710.tar.gz
I installed multilib. Could that cause a problem finding the flash plug-in?

Adobe Acrobat has stopped working. If I try it from the command line I get

Feb 3, 2011kernel 2.6.21.5, GNU/Linux (slackware 12.0). I had the bad idea of installing Adobe in my linux box and, as a result, even when I click on a .flac file the reader opens. What is bad about this is that Xfce help system is very poor. Menu bar>Help uses internet to open the site page, where there is very little help indeed. Right clicking, for example, an HTML file, I can choose the application to open it with and I'll be asked if I want this to be the default action. But for every file type I should be making this work! Perhaps deleting a hidden file in ~/ where xfce registered the associations. I do not want to uninstall Adobe as it is really fast scanning docs.

Even if I cancel, and do not actually print. For example: Open a PDF, File=>Print, Cancel, File=>Print. Then the Reader window is gone, with no message anywhere I can find.

After a number of steps I am at a page by Adobe, and I download what seems to be a generic package (Ubuntu will of course be there).But its instalation has never proved helpful. Jun 17, 2011installed Adobe Reader as the root user. In KDE I can click the Adobe icon and it brings up he Adobe program. I can then do a search via the Adobe options for PDF files and display the PDF's. I can do this from just about any user.
However, what doesn't work is being able to try to open a PDF file and have the Adobe PDF reader display the file.
Is there any way I can associate Adobe or PDF files with Adobe so PDF file are opened with the Adobe reader.

Installing acroread is not an option for me, if I have to I will go down the library and use their computer to view it, but I am hoping there is some decent free software out there or a converter. I don't mind at all not having an interactive form (Which is what I think this is), converting to a normal pdf or image woudl suffice perfectly. The document itself is not sensitive and I am prepared to share it around if anyone wants to have a crack at opening it (I'd have to be told where/how to upload it).

Is there a way to use gedit on my mac to edit files remotely over an ssh connection?
This page says that it can be done, but I think that it assumes that you are using gedit on ubuntu. On my mac (os 10.5.8) I don't have the "bookmark" option when I click "connect to server".

May 31, 2010Got my T2i a few days ago. Shot a bunch of short MOV files. Trying to do simple edits like trimming the beginning and ends. Nothing else.
Cinelerra 4 - no sound
Kdenlive - aside from crashing all the time, renders with unacceptable artifacts.
Lives - spends a long time making proxies then crashes
Avidemux - crashes on save/render
Kino - plays back first frame then last frame. Kinda funny but not.
Open Movie Editor - Does nothing at all
Open Shot - Can't find any libs
PiTiVi - Tools? We don't need no stinkin' editing tools.
Will Lunmeria be released before I die?
Will Lightworks be released before I die?
Is it time to retrench back into Windows 7 where there are numerous editors that actually work? Sure, costs money but the free stuff just dont work.
BTW, VLC plays the files back beautifully -- no skips, no jerks, sound completely in tact.

- delete all the row from the beginning of the file to the sentence "<img src="immagini/_navDxBottom.gif" />".
- delete all the rows from the sentence "<br clear="right" />" to the end of the file.
How can I do that?
