View 13 RepliesYou may know that there was a security release for Adobe Flash Plugin for Linux x86 but not for x86_64. There has been a development:
See : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
It works fine here. I have a Multilib Slack 13.1 stable.
if there were any (better?) alternatives to Nautilus.

It only offers the maximum burn speed. It doesn't off options like Disk At Once and Track At Once. K3B is oriented towards KDE. Are there any other GNOME burning choices than Brasero?

- Pidgin also does not play sound
- Amarok plays sound fine
- Other KDE system event sounds play fine (i.e. starting and leaving X)
- I used alsaconf to configure my sound as it wasn't working right after the Slackware install

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy flash player has stopped playing back audio on a particular TV show recording. Movie is fine but no audio. It's fine with every other movie. However, I notice I can play that same tv show in windows, which has to discount a problem with the station or their movie files. The slack package used to play this tv TV program until recently.
Code:

Do you think reinstalling the package would fix it?
i.e.
Code:
slackpkg remove flash-player-plugin-10.0_r45-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz
then
Code:
slackpkg install flash-player-plugin-10.0_r45-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz
i was having severe problems under slackware64-current with the adobe flash player plugin for firefox. browsing and watching videos on videos was a pain in the neck with the player crashing when opening a couple of tabs, and constant lockups for several seconds while the plugin wrapper that was running it was taking one cpu core for itself.
it seems the problem stems from a recent change in glibc that modified the memcpy implementation and caused a bit of havok in some packages. i'm guessing it's the same change (or a similar one) that caused problems with sysklogd and iptraf, among others, with strcpy and overlapping strings. remember the patches:

[url]
strictly speaking, those are problems in the program source code, but most people seem to think it's a bad idea to provide a memcpy that doesn't work for overlapping strings. a bit of discussion can be found here, with a few priceless comments by torvalds:

it seems the source code for the flash player plugin probably contains this bug, as manually modifying the libflashplayer.so binary to replace memcpy calls with memmove calls fixes the problems. at least it clearly did for me.
a quick recipe can be extracted from that bugzilla entry and one of its attachments.
for example:
code:
that should modify the binary in place provided it's located at ~/.mozilla/plugins. the resulting binary is not distributable but the recipe is.
..... tab opened and if a click on some of the related videos (while it's still playing) firefox terminates. The same if I open ..... on one tab and myspace on another - firefox just shuts down.I want to know why this happens, is it a bug and how can i fix it ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an older iBook G4, which suffers to do anything remotely productive despite it's 1.2ghz PPC proc and 1gb of RAM. I was considering on putting the community version of Ubuntu on it just for funsies, but I want to be able to watch flash videos. Is there any sort of gnash or something that can play ..... videos on PPC chips, or am I better off just sticking with OSX 10.4 on it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf Slackware didn't include KDE:
1) Which KDE apps would you miss?
2) Which alternatives for these apps would you suggest?
Proposing GNOME apps instead is considered bad practice, as there is no sign of GNOME being re-included in Slackware in a foreseeable future.
Is there a way to use shockwave player or flash player on TOR browser?

However, because I listen to a lot of podcasts(some over an hour in length), I'm looking for some kind of media player that makes it easy to navigate through long audio files.
