Slackware :: Building The Perl Modules For Bugzilla 4.x.x?

I've done a clean install of Slackware 13.37 64-bit and am having trouble with building the Perl modules for Bugzilla 4.x.x (downloaded yesterday with bzr). This same problem exists with both Bugzilla stable and 4.1.2+.Executing checksetup.pl results in

With the latest Freenode changes SSL connection is now possible which presents no problem, particularly with rworkman's ca-certificates slackbuild, But configuring sasl for the password to nickserv presents a bit more of a challenge as 3 perl modules are required: Crypt::OpenSSL::Bignum, Crypt::DH, Crypt::Blowfish and Math::BigInt. I have not packaged perl modules for slackware before and I guess there is always a first time but can I ask if anybody has already neatly packaged up the required perl modules? I suspect they will be very popular with Freenode slackware irc users...
I recently bought a pci multi io card to give my pc 2 parallel ports. For Linux, Moschip supply the source plus makefile and instructions. I ran make as root and got an error message make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop/build/: No such file or directory. So I created a folder called build in /lib/modules/2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop but that isn't good enough as I still get an error cannot make target modules. So I assume there must be something in the build folder. So what packages do I have to install to get the correct environment to be able to build the driver? Has anyone done this and can supply the driver for 11.2?
I am attempting to install the Linuxant ALSA driver to make my sound work properly (speakers muting when headphones plugged in). This worked on Lucid, but on Maverick the installation fails at the "building modules" stage. It directs me to a logfile, which I have reproduced here:
The package partially installed I have no sound at all. I have kernel headers and every related -dev package I can think of installed. I'm running 64-bit; could that be an issue?
CentOS and RHEL even though I've been using various Debian/Ubuntu Distros for quite some time. However, I always used to install perl modules via apt-get or, if that did not work, via cpan.In CentOS, I tried installing a couple of perl modules via yum but there are only a very few available. When trying to install perl modules via cpan, the install process usually fails during the make process.I'd prefer to install those modules via the distribution's package manger yum as it's easier to resolve dependencies. Are there any repositories I should add to have more perl packages available? (Where to add further repositories, I just know /etc/apt/sources.list in debian based distros)The other option still would be to install perl modules via cpan. For instance, when trying to cpan install Geo::IP, the output is as follows:

I have newly updated CentOS 5.6 server and would like to keep it "true" to CentOS, so try to avoid manually installing rpm's and CPAN modules. I need to install perl graphing modules, Chart::Base, GD, GD::Graph, GD::Text, etc. Have already done Yum install gd gd-devel php-gd

My mission statement: To run Linux using the Fedora distribution, in a VM window under Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, with the ability for scripting using Bash, with the Perl programming language installed, and use Apache Tomcat to monitor both apps, and various VM installs, on numerous Servers via the internet.
Here is my problem:I work with the BioPerl project. At first, I installed cpan modules without any problem,(eg.) sudo cpan -i CPAN::ModuleI've a proxy connection (university) and I'd configured my proxy settings correctly: perl -MCPAN -eshellIn the beginning it worked, but I don't know why it doens't work today. I do a "clean" root-only install; i.e., the only partitions that are formatted are the root and usr partition leaving the others untouched (so I don't have to restore the entire thing every time or fiddle with updating). That leaves almost everything in place with only a few edits and additions to make to get back in business; smart and dumb and the same time, sigh.

Anyway, my web server comes up just fine and other applications work as expected except for Bugzilla and I can't remember what the heck it is I have to do to get it going again. I add a file, httpd-bugzilla.conf in the extra directory and include it at the end of httpd.conf:

In the above, /var/www/htdocs/bugzilla is not a symbolic link, Bugzilla is actually installed there (and has worked just fine for a long, long time). And, yeah, I know I'm not really supposed to do that but there it is.
I also run checksetup.pl which completes cleanly (it also sets permission masks and group) and double-check that localconfig looks like it ought to.
I am trying to setup Slacware 13.1 x86_64 to a encrypted partition. I used the README_CRYPT.TXT howto : [URL] At the step when I create an initrd.gz I get this error: Quote: ERROR: No /lib/modules/2.6.33.4-smp kernel modules tree found for kernel "2.6.33.4-smp"
I tried to look into the directory and there was only modules under 2.6.44.3. So I tried to change the command into: Quote: mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.33.4 -m ext3 -f ext3 -r cryptroot -C /dev/sda2
This command was successful, but I don't know if this is alright. I made the changes in lilo.conf, add initrd = initrd.gz. This is all on unencrypted /boot partition. The boot=/dev/sda1 I also set for the unencrypted boot partition. When I boot the system I get a kernel panic:
Sometimes I have problems with modules not loaded properly /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, is it recommended to add codes to load modules in other scripts in /etc/rc.d/.
I'm currently trying to install unRaid on Slackware following this tutorial :[URL].. I'm new to Linux and after many hours, i finally managed to build the new kernel for unRAID (2.6.32.9). But audio on HDMI port doesn't work I tried alsaconf without success. HDMI sound works when i boot into the old kernel.
I tried to use CPAN to install a module Algorithm::Loops using "install Algorithm::Loops". I get the message from CPAN that this module is already up to date.But, when I try to use it I get the message:

And indeed, the file Loops.pm is nowhere to be found.Isn't that a contradiction?
I'm very keen on getting Mumble installed on my slackware -current 64 bit install. I found a slackbuild script for 12.2 here, but changing the version number resulted in failure. I also tried following the build instructions on the Mumble website, which failed with the following.

I would like to recompile my kernel to add few modules to it but I would like to keep my current configuration so as not to have troubles with missing drivers for my hardware and stuff.
I'm trying to build erlang-otp using slackbuild script from http://slackbuilds.org/. I've got these errors while building:

I did some research and located a nice packaging script "nspluginwrapper.SlackBuild" so I decided to go that route and build a Slackware package for nspluginwrapper. The error I get is the inability to find /usr/include/gnu-32.h when it is building the nspluginviewer. Not realizing that the viewer is what is used by the Browser I edited the configure script to not build that piece and it worked fine after that but of course that defeated what I was trying to do. What it looks like is that I need to have 32 bit headers or both headers and libraries installed to be able to build the viewer. I just want to use the acrobat reader plugin in Firefox. Would someone please provide an explanation of what I need to do to build nsplguinwrapper viewer?
I upgrade my slackware to slackware-current. But, when I look /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, it's still symlink to old kernel. Is this normal? Or i must change the symlink manually?
