View 1 RepliesI cannot ssh into an RHEL 5.5 server (192.168.20.104) from another RHEL 5.5 server (192.168.20.101) unless server debug is turned on 192.168.20.104, and even then, I have to wait several minutes before the connection is established. scp to and from the 104 server is also not working.Here is the debug output on the 101 server when server debug is not enabled on the 104 server-:

I have got xorg and gnome-core installed. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a centos server (5.3). I installed WebMin to assist with some of the administration details. In any event, I got it installed but I cannot access it (it requires a secure connection).
I checked out the server and it does not respond to a HTTPS:// request. When I telnet into port 80, it responds but it does not respond on port 443. MOD_SSL is installed and there is an ssl.conf (unmodified).
After a long time, I hit the wall. I upgraded my server from Fedora Core 9 to 10 through yum. The first 2 days it worked happily but the 3rd day I started getting the feeling of being doomed. Bad Magic Block started haunting me and due to several services being failed, I had to restart the server. That was the last time I saw it alive.
During boot, my 34 LVM partitions are active but its not able to mount /dev/root. I did the checked the grub and its fine. I tried rescue CD but still can't utilize most of the lvm, vgscan, vgchange commands as it gives me same 'bad magic block' error. My /proc/partition and /sys/block shows me that only 3 out of 5 HDD are active. how to resurrect the OS?

What I need, is NFSv4 w/Kerberos. As AD server already has integrated Kerberos server, I need SLES to authenticate in it.Everything works good, but when it comes to svcgssd service activation, I receive an error.Here's the log:

I have Postfix up and working perfect. It receives and sends email fine with no TLS and SASL but I installed Dovecot and then generated some self signed certificates using 'openssl' and for some reason I can't send from my IMAP server. I get this in my logs:

My Question is I have installed the ssh key authentication in Server A. User can connect this using key file via SSH. without authentication user can't connect this system via SSH. Now I am trying to copy the file from Server B through SCP command. But it is not working. While I am trying use this command from Server B I am getting below error "ssh: connect to host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 22: Connection timed out lost connection". xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is Server A. SSH is enabled in both server A,B.

I am trying out few stuff with Linux and Windows. I have a 'Postfix' mail server on CentOS 5.5 with 'dovecot' and 'squirrel' (webmail) working fine. I am just wondering, how can I create bulk mailboxes on CentOS 5.5 (for postscript) so that the the users can access their mail from the browser (squirrel mail)?
How can I integrate with Active Directory? I am also looking for techniques to automatically create bulk users (for example 100 users) on Active Directory with a default passwords (or random passwords if possible) that integrate with Postfix.
I would prefer to use a linux server for authentication but I will need the same configuration features.I have been looking for a good guide to setting up CentOS as an alternative to Active Directory, but have not found one yet.The features I want to see.
1. works with Windows clients.
2. Network Home folders (does not neessisarly need to hold profile information)
3. Logon scripts for clients.
4. shared printers
5. shared folders.
6. can log linux boxes in with the same credentials and logon scripts.
okay so we have multiple servers running CentOS and multiple people who need access to these machines for various tasks. i would like to be able to use the credentials from Active Directory (running on server 2008) to give them access to these servers without having to go through each server and add these people into permission groups. basically a single sign-on for all of these servers depending upon what permissions were granted in Active Directory. how do i go about doing this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an embedded device which acts as a client, and a server at office. The IP address of the client is allocated by DHCP, so its IP address is actually variable. I would like to know what is the simpliest way to maintain the communication between client and server when DHCP is enabled. I once used socket many years ago to communicate between the client and the server. If I remember it right, I actually bypassed the dynamic IP issues by using the computer name to replace the IP address. Even the client is not at the same local network as the server, the scheme still worked. Correct me if my memory cheated me. if socket is still the best solution for this kind of application involving DHCP? I also heard from someone that it is necessary to implement multicast discovery protocols named BONJOUR, but I don't think it is necessary

I think I've totally destroyed my Suse install, but I have no idea what happened.
I was running Yast's "Create a backup" utility and my screen totally went black and kicked me to the login screen. I was unable to log in, except to a terminal.
So, then I tried to restart X (by typing startx) and I get "Fatal server error: Server is already active for display 0"
I've tried running the repair utility, and it doesn't work. Through a number of commands, I was able to start up a second X session, but that wasn't really much help.
I would like to set up Some kind of windows user manager in an ubuntu sever. The windows network is already set up. I've scoured the net for hours and found nothing.

(In Windows, I have to uncheck the "use passive FTP" option in Folder Options in order to connect) Is there a way to do this with Ubuntu's Connect to Server system/Nautilus?
