BackgroundI have registered a domain name "abc.mobi" with domainit. abc.mobi is pointed to our mail server which is running at 199.2.2.2 (fake address).All mails that are being delivered to kazmi@abc.mobi have no problem getting delivered. We can also send emails out to other domains.I have recently configured BIND 9.3.6 on the same server (running CentOS) that is running our mail server. The purpose is to make sub domain dynamically without getting domainit involved. These subdomains will have incoming and outgoing emails as well. For example, I would want to make a usable subdomain "xyz" under abc and have kazmi@xyz.abc.mobi email address.
I have configured abc.mobi.hosts file as follows
(/var/named/chroot/var/named/abc.mobi.hosts)
$ttl 38400
[code]...

I am having trouble configuring Zimbra to restrict sending for some users. A subdomain has been added in the ZCS web page for the domain, resulting in two potential mail addresses:
[URL]
The subdomain needs to be restricted from sending mail to the outside world and to other users on the same subdomain. It should only be able to message users on the main domain. The users on the main domain should be able to email anyone in the world. Is it possible to configure this without installing Zimbra on two machines?

I've run into a strange issue with a DHCP/DDNS setup whereby when the DHCP server asks the DNS server to add a new host, the forward map is added correctly but the reverse map has the subdomain added twice (e.g. 192.168.25.192.168.25.250)I'm running ISC DHCPd version 3.0.1 and BIND version 9.2.3 on SuSE 9.2 - 32bit.Here is my dhcpd.conf file:
# dhcpd.conf
authoritative;
include "/etc/named.keys";

Quote: evolution-data-server-common architecture independent files for Evolution Data Server. Why, when removing this package, does Synaptic want me to also remove:
Quote:
gnome-applet
gnome-panel
indicator-applet
ubuntu-netbook-remix
This seems pretty stupid. I just want to get rid of Evolution! Netbooks are cloud based machines, why was Evolution even included?! The same with OpenOffice.

I'm trying to create some PHP extensions. I have installed php-devel as well as the other preqs I thought were required. However I'm not able to find ext_skel. The file README.EXT_SKEL was installed, but not the actual program (find / -name ext_skel). My understanding was ext_skel was installed with php-devel. I know it is in the source code, but I'm not sure where to get the source for PHP 5.1.6 for my version of CentOS.
I'm running linux 5.3
2.6.18-128.1.10.el5

I would like to create a customized CentOS server, or it will serve me as a server (postfis) postfixadmin, Hylafax, webmail (Roundcube for example) and may be I would integrate suger crm.
If I create it all this server and it runs perfectly. my goal is I create a compilation or for example I install this distrubution and wonder just some configuration (eg IP address or the time just) knowing that by the end of the installation I find hylafax, postfix , and all AC roundecube install it remains for me to set them up! Taking the example of Elastix cd: www.elastix.org/ or it can make all AC (but its main role is the PABX).

Before I proceed much further it would be nice if I could create a backup/install disc of how it is now. No Data,just the setup and software used etc.Have a dvd rw on the server.I recall mondo rescue installed years ago on a linux server we used.

I have a CentOS 5.5 server that has just recently been updated to 5.6 running PostgreSQL 8.4 and Drupal for an internal website. The server is also acting as a shared network storage between the Linux server and Windows desktops with Samba.
I just recently purchased a license to run Symantec Backup Exec System Restore 2010 for Linux and the only operating systems that are supported are RedHat and Suse Linux.
Does anyone know of a nice open source solution that we can use to create backup images of the server?
In the event of a server crash, we want to be able to rebuild the server via a bit-by-bit backup image.
The CentOS 5.6 is 32bit

I built a CentOS 5 Linux cluster with GFS storage using local RAID volume and share it with gnbd_export/import on two web-servers. Now I need to expand that storage to another servers local volume. I saw the picture in the manual, but I don`t know, how can I create that scheme.
I can use gnbd_export on the second server and gnbd_import on the first. In that case I will have two volumes on the first storage and I can expand volume group, logical volume, etc on it.

I'm working in a little company and 2 weeks ago one of our server had a hard disk failure (yes it was a seagate 11) and after passed two days without sleep trying to recover everything (and we did it!!) we took the decision now to use in some of our server a raid sw, so if one HD fail we can continue with our system without losing nothing. Yes I know normally you have to take all the precautions before so this things never happen, but you know I thing if it never arrives you, you always think than you're lucky and it's never going to happen to you but one day you discover reality.
So now this server is working with a Centos and the default HD partitions one boot partition and the LVM. I'm reading everything I'm finding about raid sw and lvm but I don't find if it's possible to create now with the system working a raid sw without having to reinstall all the system. Is it possible to do it ? If not what are my options to make a system backup before reinstalling everything?

Right now it's complaining that the home folder does not exist upon loggin with an ldap account.

Running a server using CentOS 5.5 (yum updated, x86_64), found that when using /usr/sbin/useradd to create system user, the quota for the user will default set to 5M soft and 10M hard (on /var/spool/mail partition). As remember the default setting for user quota should be both zero when create a new user.
man useradd and quota related command and no help, had any idea how to change/set the default quota when create user.

I've got Samba server running on CentOS box. Everything works fine when I use "path" parameter, but I think Samba should create /home dirs for clients automatically. It should look like this:
comment = Home Directory of '%u'
valid users = @"Domain Group"
browseable = no
writable = yes
[Code]....
When I explicitly declare "path" param, it works ok. But I need PERSONAL home dir for every user separately, not one dir for everyone.

I'm trying to set up a virtual machine environment in Centos5.5. My hardware fully supports virtualization, and I'm running qemu as the hypervisor with Virtual Machine Manager as the GUI to manage and create VMs. Host hardware is a Dell PowerEdge T710, with a quad core Xenon processor and four 1TB disks in a raid 6 array.
Within the Virtual Machine Manager when trying to create a new VM, there is the option to not "allocate entire virtual disk now". What format is created when you "allocate entire virtual disk now" and when you don't?
I want to create a qcow2 image format, but it doesn't look like it is supported. Does anybody know how to create a VM with a qcow2 image format?
When you create a blank disk with "qemu-img create -f qcow2 disk.qcow2 3700G", it indeed does create a qcow2 image. However, Virtual Machine Manager is unable to read these images, claiming that it is 15 megs or so in size (which is what it actually occupies in host disk space until you try and put a VM into it).
