I have installed cent 5 in my system .Squid 2.6 is by default in it. I want to compile delay_pools feature in squid. Normally we download source code file in tar.gz format ,uncompressed it and then install it. If we want to compile any thing we can also do it.
Here in my case there is already squid installed during installation process of cent os 5. Kindly guide that how can I compile my current installed squid?

Does anyone know what happened to the Multiseat feature that had been in the feature list at one point? To briefly summarise, a single machine with multiple graphics cards, sound cards, keyboards & mice provides multiple seats for users. Each user gets their own monitor, keyboard, mouse & perhaps audio. The rest of the machine resources are then shared.
The last I saw on the topic was this discussion, although I have a recollection that there was going to be support in a newer version of X.Org. I've googled around quite a bit, but can't seem to find anything.
Anybody know anything? It would be a great feature to have and it's frustrating to have had such an omission since F8 :-o
I'm a frequent user of the shared connection feature of SSH. Usually i have two or three connections open at the same time through the connection sharing feature, but sometimes when i try to start another i get the message "Shared connection to <server< closed". All the connection that are established through the connection sharing feature are still active and not closed, but when i try to create a new one i get that message.. i've even got that message when i have only had two connections through the shared connection feature.
I've tried to search google but it doesnt seem like anyone else has had the same kind of problem, does someone know why i sometimes get this error ?
Squid document says that Squid accepts only HTTP requests but speaks FTP on the server side when FTP object are requested.
We call Squid HTTP and FTP caching proxy server. Does it also caches FTP contents? Is it possible to configure FTP clients to use Squid cache? When we make an FTP request to an FTP site via Squid will it be bypassed?

I have dhcp, squid, and dansguardian all running on my server, but when I point a client to it for a proxy (192.168.1.15:8080) and try to get to a website, nothing happens and the connection times out. When I don't bother with the proxy, the client has no trouble getting to the internet. I've verified I can ping the server and gateway from both machines. And the services are running, no errors noted in the logs. Do I need to do any iptables or selinux changes?
