I just want to place upload/download limit to each ip address ( say 20MB per day for each ip or specific ip) using squid proxy i tried through delay pool but it control only download/upload speed not place any download/upload quota restriction. following are my codes I have 1Mbps line

"request_body_max_size" only restrict download based on size.

I'm running F14, and i'm having an annoying issue - I can't upload photos to facebook. I have flash player installed, but when i hit the button to create an album in facebook, it tells me i need to install flash. I use opera, but the problem also exists when i try firefox. However, i'm running ubuntu on my netbook, also with opera, and here it works just fine.
Does anybody have an idea why I can't upload photos to Facebook?Always when I try to do it, both in Firefox and in Opera the message "The connection has been reset" appears... What could be the reason? Could it also be a problem with my router or provider? Because I presume the problem exists, since I have moved flat.
I am using debian squeeze, with browsers chrome, firefox, and flashplugins installed.
I get online via ipv4 DSL, pppoe(I don't quite sure their relationships), I can browse websites, watch flash smoothly, can download softwares from websites to my desktop PC via the browser chrome or firefox with speed about 200kB/s, if I download an some 700MB ubuntu iso from ftp6.sjtu.edu.cn, it reaches 10MB/s.
The thing is, I can't upload files from my PC to online disks(say [url], [url] via browser (firefox, chrome etc), can't send email with an attach file even as small as 1MB via broser, can't post topics on this forum with attachment, can't upload pics to Facebook.
When I try do these "upload things", the web browser just stays there and doesn't refresh. Some online disks have a instant upload speed of 10kb/s ,then it quickly slow down to less than 200b/s, finally it stoped there ,and say "upload failed, network failure".
everytime if more that 10-15 people using internet at same time squid proxy slow to responde everyweb just keep loading and here my squid proxy settings 1 nic squid proxy 2.7 stable 9 ubuntu 64bit intel duo core

My squid server works fine in fedora 11 system . Is there any web like interface for admins to create,change,modify users of squid and to view their logs.

I am now trying to setup a VSFTP server where local users can upload files to there home directory so that Apache can serve web pages straight from the directories of system user home/accounts giving users the ability to run their own web sites which are hosted off the main server [tutorial here: [url]
So far i have been able to serve/display index.html files from the users home directory [url] but so far i cant upload files to any user home directory, every time i try to upload a file with filezilla i get this error message: 553 Could not create file. Critical file transfer error
I have searched online for similar problems like mine and so far i've tried alot of the solution but none seem to work. I'm confused, dont know where i went wrong, i put the users in a group called ftpusers and here are the permissions on the users (test, ftpuser & testftp) home directory. have a look an tell me where i went wrong :(

have setup a LAMP server with ubuntu 10.04 server edition x86 for my study in VMware Workstation 7.1 For a assignment I had to make a php script that would load a file up to the server and set the name in a mysql database. According to the book the server should set the image in a cryptic folder in the /tmp/ folder.
This isn't working and i also try'd locate and find to find the image i uploaded. I checked the php.ini and file uploads were on but no folder so i set that one to /tmp/ but still no images. Can anyone help me with enabling this function?
I need to setup a Linux VPN server at work for resources' sharing, I currently have a server running CentOS 5.4, and tried endless tutorials on the web, but to no avail, and can't find where the logs are kept for the VPN server to check where the error is. But all my attempts to try to connect keep failing.
I have set up a nis slave server on Fedora 14. It was set up on a laptop so that the user can log in when he is at home (no NFS, local home dir). However, whenever the eth0 is disconnected, ypbind fails.
I have tried the same setup on a RHEL 4 (configured it as a slave server) against the same master nis as on the Fedora 14. Disabling eth0 on it however does not fail ypbind.

I have just started using linux. I have setup an ubuntu apache2 server. It has been running brilliantly and I am highly impressed with the Linux system. My box is an HTTP server and I am hosting a website on it. I have VSFTPD installed and functioning as my FTP software. It has worked fine so far but I have been a bit annoyed that I have had to set permissions for each file I have put on there.
Now I have run into a serious issue with the permissions being set to 600 and I really need them to 755 because I am running an automatic upload for a webcam and the Image can't be accessed due to the automatic permissions of 600 being set to the image. My extensive windows background tells me that I need to apply the correct permissions to the WWW folder and get the files to inherit these permissions automatically.
I want to upload files from my computer to an FTP site and I don't want to upload files that are already on the server. So I need a tool that finds out which local files that are different from the ones on the server, or that don't exists on the server.
Some requirements:
I'm using a cheap provider that does not support rsync or ssh, so I can only use FTP. I generate the files before uploading them, so comparing timestamps is meaningless. I've tried lftp with the mirror command. It's slow (I think it uploads all the files). I upload the files from different computers, so I can't use sitecopy, which uses a local database to keep track of which files are on the server. I'd like to be able to upload all changed files with one command. Preferably no GUI application. And it needs to run in Ubuntu.
I was thinking about creating a tool similar to sitecopy, but which stores checksums of all the files on the FTP server on the server itself. But then I thought that there may already be such a tool.

I've been trying to set up an FTP server for a client, which is something I haven't done before. Things seemed pretty straight forward at first, had everything working, but now I have just one last minor problem.
I'm using vsftpd as my FTP daemon. I managed to configure it to allow only user to log in, I have write enabled, etc. Now, this server is in the 172.16.10.* range. I have servers in two other ranges that need to connect to it and down-/upload files. These ranges are 192.168.15.* and 192.168.16.*. The ones in 192.168.15.* are physically in the same location as my FTP server. The ones on 192.168.16.* connect through a VPN, using a Netscreen 5GT firewall.
Up to this, no problem yet. The problem is this:
I tried the following from the 192.168.15.* range:
- connect: no problem - login: no problem - list directory: no problem - download file: no problem - upload file: no problem
Now I tried all of this from the 192.168.16.* range as well. Everything checked out except for one tiny crucial thing. I'm not allowed to upload files, I get "550 Requested action not permitted". I login under the same user I've verified I get the correct directory listing, so absolutely everything checks out to be the exact same.
After few hours working I can connect to ftp.And download files from the server.But I can not upload file or create directory.I checked my configure file several time could not figure it out.
