View 7 Replies View RelatedI have installed FreeRadius to a Debian Linux server.I have configured an account called Support to run the Radius as I didn't want Root to be the user to run this.I want Radius to start up automatically after the system is rebooted but I don't know how to do this. I am new to Linux so please bare with me. If the system is rebooted, is it possible for the Support account to be logged in automatically? Is there a script I can create to automatically login the Support account? This may not be secure but it has been requested. Also the main question is after a reboot can the Radius be configured to automatically start without the need for someone to login? So if the system is rebooted and then goes back to login prompt, can the Radius then be running?
I have had a good search about scripts but with my limited knowledge it isn't too easy.
After reading it also said something about using rc.radiusd which will automatically start Radius after a reboot, but again I cannot understand exactly what I need to do.Please can someone help out with this and let me know if I am on the right track? Will the start-my-radius.sh script work after the system is rebooted without someone actually login and how do I get it to work?Please explain clearly as this is all a bit technical for my liking and not understanding it well!

We are using this url on our testing box and this ip is reverse proxy IP ( 10.192.64.52)
Without reverse proxy:- URL is working fine.
http://10.192.16.77/akc-qa/arsys/ser...TS000000001430
But with reverse proxy its putting escape [%25] in between %3a

Is it possible to write a rewrite rule to bypass escape [NE] for this particular URL?
I've installed the Apache Httpd Server on RH Linux. In order to start the httpd after the machine rebooted. But it failed.
I also check the /var/log/message but couldn't find any message about httpd. I have start the httpd manually. Now I can find in /var/log/message a message that "httpd started successfully"
My /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd looks as follow. Can someone help?
Code:
#!/bin/bash
#
# Startup script for the Apache Web Server
#
# chkconfig: 345 85 15

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Ubuntu 10.10 Gnome. My computer automatically boots up at a particular time of day. But it stops at the login window.
1) How do I let it automatically login? I have set passwordless login.So when I manually hit my login username, it logs in without needing me input password. But it gives a pop-up window asking for keyring password.
2) How to get rid of it?
Just installed F15 using preupgrade (from F14) and now, every time I reboot, time jumps backwards 4 hours. If I reboot twice in a row without correcting the time, time will be off by 8 hours. Time zone is set correctly (Eastern Time). "Synchronize date and time over the network" is unchecked.
Since the difference between GMT and Eastern time is 4 hours, there appears to be some confusion over that but I can't find anything in the "Date & Time" app relative to that to try to play with to see if I can correct this. II do remember a similar issue many releases ago but I can't remember how it was dealt with.
Any ideas on how to diagnose and fix this?
For some reason, Gnome keeps opening some programs that I frequently use (Gedit, gnome-terminal, and a document viewer) at startup.I have disabled the"remember my open programs" option from the Preferences menu and it still happens!

EDIT This question is resolved by using:
$ rec -t wav - silence 1 0.1 3% -1 1.0 3% | lame - >record1.mp3
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu version 10.10 64-bit and since then closing GEdit won't stop the process automatically when the window is closed and I have to kill it manually. I didn't have this problem with version 10.04 (also 64-bit) and I didn't change any settings after the upgrade.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an external (USB) sound-card attached to my laptop, through which I generally want all of my sound routed. By and large, the device works wonderfully - with one minor (but annoying) quirk: almost every time the computer reawakens from suspend mode with the device plugged in, something in the OS automatically mutes all sound coming from that device. Note that Ubuntu does NOT restore control to my on-board sound chip - so whenever this happens, I'm left with a machine that's basically universally muted, for no good reason. Of course, I can just go into the volume control panel and unmute the external card - but I'm getting a bit tired of having to do this each time I turn on the machine.
Anybody have any ideas as to how I can force Ubuntu to NOT mute the external card?
I have a problem on Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit. The wlan does not connect automatically on reboot, although "Connect automatically" is ticked in network manager. I always have to choose "Connect to hidden wlan", choose my config, enter my password, then connect. Once connected everything works fine. But it's kind of annoying to manually connect each time after a restart.
- hidden SSID from router
- mode -> infrastructure
- connect automatically -> ticked
- available to all users -> ticked
- Encryption -> WPA & WPA2 personal

I have noticed that after few days of ideal system it will stop its network interface. To resolve this I have to login to the machine it self and then issue
# service network start
Is this a feature. If this is not a feature then what is this. As an workaround I am thinking of adding service network restart in cron tab for everyday in night when I am not using it.

If I reboot, it doesn't work automatically and I have to 'modprobe b43' again. Any ideas what I am missing here?I can't seem to figure out how to get this to work automatically. I did check to activate device when computer starts in network manager
