i have problem to acces red hat ..when i write the username and password, appear the pasword or username are not correct..but before this it is ok..i use same pasword and username..i dont know why when i try to log in , i get that error..how to solve this problem because i need to acces to process some data for my study..how to reset or to check what the probelm??

Anothe rproblem is that Redhat does not see my netwrok so I cannot get onto the Internet. I need to have the choice of booting into XP or Redhat.

I have 64 bit Redhat 6 installed. Need to use ModJK for Apache and Tomcat Installed jdk1.6.0_23 in /usr/java. From Oracles site downloaded jdk-6u23-linux-x64-rpm.bin. One of the instructions is to insert this in the /etc/httpd/conf/workers.properties file:

Dear Linux users. I am trying to install torque-3.0.0 in Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.5 But when I try to configure using the command ./configure --with-tclx --enable-gui I have been getting the following error.

I just upgraded on system from RedHat 4.0 to 4.8 and I'm having issues recognizing flash drives on the system. After a little bit of googling and attempting what some people recommend I am still having issues. I've tried the lsusb command but it doesn't seem to be recognized. I've searched the media and dev directories but found nothing showing any system recognition of USB devices. The ports do work as I've hopped the mouse and keyboard around to all of them and they work just fine.

I've been trying to get up to speed on Linux and feel like sticking with the RedHat derivatives as opposed to trying a new distro whenever something new comes out has really helped me.
I have a job interview coming up and it sounds like something I'd really like. They have an upgrade of VMWare from 3.5 to 4.1 in the works and virtualization is really my focus right now. The solution I'm getting to some errors is to download an .rpm file and run some fancy commands.
cat compat-db-4.1.25-9.i386.rpm | rpm2cpio | pax -r
I've managed to find a .src.rpm file.
From the .src, I want to create the .rpm file. But NOT install it. Since that would conflict with the newer version of the same package that is already installed.
Linux occassionally change things with different releases.
My old notes say, to compile the .src file, use:
rpm --rebuild util-linux-2.11y-9.src.rpm
My questions are:
1) Is this syntax still correct on Redhat 5? If not, what is the new correct syntax? Perhaps use: rpmbuild?
2) If I run this command, does it create a .rpm file? or, does it install it onto the system.
3) If that command would install the .src, what is the correct syntax to create the .rpm ONLY?
I'm trying to interface Perl and Mysql interface using DBI and DBD..
I am installing DBI-1.616 and the perl present is 5.008008.
However the issue I am having is that at the end of running tests using make test I get the following output 30 tests and 225 subtests skipped. Failed 56/178 test scripts, 68.54% okay. 1428/5109 subtests failed, 72.05% okay. make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 255
I'm willing to post the output of the make test command, but Its wayy too huge.. I can provide you further details and paste only the required outputs..
