Programming :: Provide Password Through Script?
Aug 21, 2010
I want to automate one script which involves the ssh to other server using another user and then execute command. I want it to be unattended. But now when I ssh it prompts for the password. Is there any facility where I can provide password to the script and and script will run without prompting?

What actions should be performed that would build the binary rpm with support memcache, mhash, and mcrypt? Assume that all the required packages of libraries installed on the system. There is the software raid1 md0 Disc / dev / sda / dev / sdb. You must configure grub, that would have been able to boot from both drives. Assume that only one section ("/"). Generate for httpd ssl key and integrate into the system. to generate without a password or to provide a password script. Scan open ports and see what processes are installed network connections. What ports must be left open to normally closed firewall for full operation and setup http server (http, https)? Write a shell script that would produce an analysis of processes mysql and delete those that connection more than 5 minutes excluding system processes (eg replication), as well as sending mail warning in the log if an error occurs mysql string ABCDEFGH. Provide autostart at boot time (integration in init.d), protection against re-run, exception handling (when using lock files).

I found a strange problem when I use gdb in eclipse to debug. When I step in the program, the register RIP(I'm using x86_64 machine and that's EIP in 32 bit mode) shows correctly but the line stepping in the source code may be far from the correct line. For example, when there is no loop in the source code, the RIP keeps on increasing and the current instruction pointer goes back to several lines back. I'm sure the source code is the right one because I when I checked the memory and local variables after several lines the values are all correct. The source code has many empty lines and does it matters with GDB?

I'm not sure if this is best done in Perl or Bash. I'm thinking surely someone else has created something close to what I'm looking for. The results of the script would be that someone would kick off "linux_hosts.sh" r whatever you want to call it, then a top "folder" of options (with hosts contained within each of these top menu choices), then, based on which number corresponds to that top level, they're presented with a set of linux hosts that are relevant to that top level name. Example:
$ linux_hosts.sh
1. VMware hosts 4. Private Domain
2. ESX servers 5. Red Hat boxes
[code]...

I'm using gnome-screensaver and have installed
xscreensaver-data
xscreensaver-data-extra
xscreensaver-gl
xscreensaver-gl-extra
xscreensaver-screensaver-bso
However, any xscreensaver I select and which becomes active provides only a blank black screen, although the Preview button works fine. The default installation screensavers which come along with gnome-screensaver are working fine too. Using Debian Sid.

Is it possible to provide encryption over HTTPS without a certificate?
I can't afford a certificate from a CA, but I do want to provide encryption with my website... without a self-signed certificate because I hate that screen popping up on the clients computer on first visits.

I've got a 10.10 installation, which I am using as a media/download server. Currently everything is stored on a 1TB USB drive. With the costs of disks falling, and the hassle of trying to back 1TB up to DVD (no, it's not going to happen) I was wondering if there's some linux/Ubuntu utility, which can use multiple disks to provide failover/resilience ... Could I just buy another 1TB drive, and have it "shadowing" the main, so that if one goes, I buy another, and then restore from the copy ?

I am writing a bash shell script on RHEL. I need a way to analyze the output from a command, and provide a response to that command depending on what is found.
On the command line this looks like:
In other words I want to script this - capture the output from the mlsmailbox --delete command, respond with a yes if the mailbox was found, and go on if it was not found. There may be other responses to the mlsmailbox --delete command that I need to analyze and respond to as well.

Does Redhat provide a 'site' license option? The amount of server my company keeps adding is growing to quickly so this would be a more ideal solution. Does any one know about this or where I could find more information? For some reason i can't access certain pages on their site (probably connection issues with this connection's firewall).

Ubuntu LTS 8.04 + DHCP. Works fine except for fixed addresses. I mean all devices which need to get fixed IP according to their MACs don't get them and keep to receive random IPs from the range (although almost everytime all machines receive the same IP they got from DHCP for the first time).
The following config was created by Webmin interface.
At the one of the ubuntu forums i was advised to carry host description out of the subnet description.

Ubuntu 8.0.4,GnomeDesktop with firefox (we are going to use) Epson Thermal printer(M-T500 Thermal Printer) [URL]... without linux driver, provide serial port ctrl. I get the command manual(pfd).I can test the command by run minicom however. I want to print the Web page (.html) provide by our web servers. Those pages have a js-button(javascript) each with the function that the firefox/or (custom) app demo is called to print the line/table/div/etc (not the whole page, like the receipt) after the js-button is pressed. There is a window showing the print-progress info will be better when it is printting. I just try to find the best way to do this: I got ghostscript after search by google but it is just used for pfd print or something. So How can I just implment this?

I'm writing a script which will log into a list of servers if they have public/private keypairs set up. If a server doesn't, I want the script to move on to the next server rather than wait at a password prompt.I'm using OpenSSH version 5.1p1 Debian-5, OpenSSL 0.9.8g 19 Oct 2007 on both client and server.I'm using this command: Code: ssh root "at" "IP" -o PasswordAuthentication=no KbdInteractiveAuthentication=no I had to write "at" instead of the symbol, as I'm not allowed to "post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more."This works for most servers, but not all (on some of them the script halts at a password prompt). I suspect those servers may run an older version of SSH which doesn't support the options I'm providing

I think opensuse should provide regenerated ISO files to public after several package updated. I think this may help reduce duplicate bug reports and reduce net traffics. I think this can greatly increase the user experience of opensuse.

I have a problem with mediatomb. I installed it from official ubuntu repo and when someone is trying to get some audio files via UPnP there are visible only namefiles istead of title from tags. It strange because MediaTomb provides album covers from tags, but no album, genre or title. How do I configure that ? MediaTomb from repo has taglib support but no id3lib.

I had originally planned on buying a USB 2.0 audio interface to use with my first home recording studio, but it sounds like Linux support is pretty horrible for these devices. On the other hand, the FFADO project seems to be very promising, so now I'm looking at getting a firewire interface. The only problem is that all I have on my laptop (sony vaio VGN-N365E) is a little 4-pin firewire port. If I'm not mistaken, those don't provide any power. Will this work with any interfaces (maybe one that has it's own external power adapter)? Or is there an adapter I can get to convert it to a full firewire port and add power?
