Programming :: Getting List Of Shell Scripts - Flow Tree

I am working on a build-test system of a set of codes. The system (large enough) is such that one shell script does some work and calls another shell script. This inturn calls a third shell script and so on. How to get the list of all such shell scripts according to the way they are called.? More like a shell script flow tree?
I want to use ssh to execute a command and to wait endlessly to log everything (in file) that comes as a stream of the connected server. But unfortunately, in the manual its written "If command is specified, it is executed on the remote host instead of a login shell"
So what happens is that when I specify my command: ssh user@server "my_command"
It executed the command and the flow of execution returns to bash shell. So basically my session ends right after the command is executed. This happens only in case I specify command in the command line. If I login into ssh manually and then type "my_command", then the session doesn't end. I want the ssh not to exit, because after "my_command" executes, I want to capture everything in the session.
how to configure serial port RS-232 to use flow control? The reason is without flow control is is not working properly(dala loss etc.) Im trying to run it as it is just with setting the flow control flag and Im sending my data via loop-back on the rs-232 to GTK TERM on the same computer... but when I enable IXON/IXOFF in GTK TERM, my sending program cant even open the port...
So I've been trying to get my windows C: and D: partitions (mounted to /windows/C and /windows/D respectively) to show along side "Filesystem" and "Home Folder" in tree view on the left panel in Nautilus.
I know I can drag and drop any folder under the Places view mode, but I never use Places and prefer Tree view mode.

I am working on a PHP enabled webpage that will allow a user to select multiple files and directories to upload from a local machine to an ftp server. I am comfortable with uploading the files from the machine to the server. The problem is making it easy to select all the desired files. What I would like to do is create an expandable file tree that lists all the directories and files on the local filesystem. From there, the user should be able to select directories and files using checkboxes. Upon clicking submit, all of the selected files should be fed into an array of files that can be sequentially uploaded to the ftp server.
I'm searching for an algorithm to sort a binary min heap tree. That's when in root i have the smallest value in the tree. The only restriction it has, is that the parent must be smaller the its two children. i think something like quick-sort, but i don't know how to implement it.
I am working on an structure program and i have to represent a 2,4 tree in a class in Java using single int array and make the insert and delete functions .

I found it easiest to embed narp into the gtk+-2.0 installation because all I needed to do was tweak the Makefile.am and Makefile.in files and let configure do the rest.This is a hack. I've failed at getting my own makefiles to work.

I have a directory listing with many subdirectories having many files. I want to recursively search for the oldest 5 files starting from the base directory and not 5 from each subdirectory. I am writing a shell script which sorts them using ls -lRtur|egrep "txt|jpg" > /tmp/file1 Now from this /tmp/file1 file I want to sort the files same as what the ls -ltr command does that is oldest file time to newest file time first. How do I sort based on Linux time stamp? The files itself also have Linux timestamps embedded in them So I can sort based after extracting them as well if it is easier. My /tmp/file1 has entries like below.
How would I list 4 users ID numbered 10, 11, 12 and 13 from my users list and output them to a file busers where their names are numbered by ascending order? How would I accomplish that on a one line command?
I am trying to get this script to work. The purpose is to download a list of modules from the slax.org the list consist of a list of module numbers. What I am trying to do is Download the file or the file name corresponding to the number in the list.the list is comma delimited. this is what I have done so far and I am a stand still.

I am trying to create a shell script similar to ls, but which only lists directories. I have the first half working (no argument version), but trying to make it accept an argument, I am failing. My logic is sound I think, but I'm missing something on the syntax.

I am new for linux shell script, i ve a task to monitor a list of IP's Listen on the Particula Port. I ve list of IP's,from that list i need to monitor. If the prticular IP in the list is not listening on given port num then send a alert mail. Can any one guid me to write a shell script.

I've created a simple script based menu. This menu will be accessed by only a certain users via ssh.When user logs in, the menu will automatically run. (configured at user's .bash_profile).How do I force the session to close when user hits Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Break ?In a nutshell, I don't want user to have access to shell.
Now my script is able to start server, But I am still have some problem with my script. When the start server command is executed, the control does not pass the line and does not execute further of that line.what is the problem and how can I get smooth execution of the my script. My Script:
Two processes are communicating through a pipe: A | B. A is writing data faster than B is reading it in. Is there any way to have A limit its writing rate to match B's reading rate?
AFAIK the pipe will get full, and will make A's writing block, waiting for B to read in more data. But is there a way to limit A's writing rate before the pipe fills up? (In a way it's like having a pipe with a really small capacity, but as far as I know pipe capacity is a constant compiled into the kernel.)

i was thinking that is there a way to check data flow for viruses? i mean if i set up calm av in my internet sharing server could it detect anything in incoming and outgoing data ?!!
Is anyone aware of a detailed "flow chart" -- arrows and decision diamonds, etc -- that describes the file access and permissions processing? I would love to see that diagram. Years ago on a platform far away (Digitial VAX/VMS) their manuals had such a flow chart that covered not only the user-group-owner and read-write-execute permissions decision making but also include "access control list" processing at a superficial level. If someone has access to the VAX/VMS flow chart, that might be a start toward sorting what linux does.
I recently started shell programming and my task now is to do a menu display.Currently i am stuck whereby user will input both title and author and it will delete it.
i successfully installed the nautilus elementary on ubuntu 11.04 and the clutter flow as well and it was working as charm, but when i installed the ATI official driver, it starts to crash ( i mean clutter flow ), i uploaded a screen-shot of what it turns to.
