I have a file called sitemapindex.xml
Its contents just are names of the other sitemaps. Google gets pissy because it isn't in a http:// format.
So, I need "<loc>sitemap-c1mediawiki-............</loc>" to be replaced with "<loc>http://domain.tld/sitemap-c1mediawiki-............</loc>".
Here's the expression I've been trying:
find /path/to/site/sitemap-index-c1mediawiki* -type f | xargs sed -i 's/[<loc>sitemap]/[<loc>http://domain.tld/]/'
It fails.
I've tried with and without brackets.

I wanted to know how to organize the words in the text file ? i mean how can i just get the number of infected people in USA , number of infected in CANADA (if they exist) from all the text file and change it to a file with precise data.that is to eliminate the unneeded information such as the the characteristics and the useless ideas? and what if i also wanted to know the characteristics of the virus in a country+the number of infected?. I want to be able to find the lines that matches my input and change the N to a Y, but only for the lines that matches the name and not any other N's My problem is the line does not always contain a P as it can be a D as well so my matching did not work. If my script issues the name $1=triva the lines will change to:

I have the following code so far but as you can see it does not change the D's

Sep 6, 2010In the ordering of files I keep I need links to directories. Sometimes I even need to move directories to new locations. I have tried using symlinks, but they become dead when I move the directory they point to. I have tried hard links, but I haven't found any Linux file system that would support hard linked directories. How can I achieve that a complex structure of directories (currently with symlinks for directories and hard links for files) keep symlinks live when directories are moved?
- is there any utility that updates symlinks when a directory is moved?
- is there any Linux filesystem that supports hard linked directories?
- is there any good Linux interface to the new NTFS (the only file system I know to support automatically updating directory links, called directory junctions)?

Ubuntu :: Server 11.04 Boots With White Lines Over Text
Jul 24, 2011I installed Ubuntu server (32-bit) on a Dimension 2200 (256mb ram, celeron processor). When I boot, i get white and black lines over the screen which makes the text beneath it impossible to see. I've (attempted to) post an image showing this.Is there any way to fix this? The text-mode installer and the GRUB menu display fine.I've used ubuntu on many PCs and never seen this happen, and I couldn't find any results when I googled the issue.

Jun 11, 2010So everything went fine in my installation of ubuntu 10.04 but when the pc was reset after installation, it goes to the black screen with the white writing and then does nothing. To check if there was a problem with the disk I had burnt, I installed an an older version of ubuntu (8.something) which had previously worked and the same thing happened: installation goes fine but then when I reset it goes to the black screen with white writing and does nothing. I then tried to install 10.04 again through usb with the same results. Do I need to change a BIOS setting?

Oct 29, 2010I am running SuperOS 10.10, which is based on Ubuntu 10.10. I am fairly new to gnome Ubuntu and never have dealt much with changing themes.I am using the Ambiance theme and like everything about it but the slide bar is white and hard to see. I like the fact that the close, minimize, maximize buttons are on the left side of the window. If I change the theme to clearlooks then the slide bar is blue and easy to see but the close, minimize, maximize buttons are on the right. I went into Ubunty Tweak, window manager settings when in the clearlooks theme and the close, minimize, maximize buttons are set to custom.
If I uncheck the custom button and click left then nothing happens. I would either like to change the color of the slide bar in ambiance theme or change the close, minimize, maximize buttons location in clearlooks theme. It is probably simple to do but I have been going in circles with no change. Can someone point me in the right direction? Nevermind, I will just switch to another distro. This question didn't generate a lot of traffic.
