I have some c++ code and want to generate class diagrams using some tool which would scan the c++ code and generate diagrams. Is there any such open source tool to be used on linux machine?

that I can use to make directional diagrams in linux. I know about inkscape but I would like a program that has a premade library of shapes. I also know about Dia Diagram but it doesnt have a sheet of shapes that suits me.
In the fall when I return to my full time studies in university, I would like it very much to use Ubuntu as my operating system on my main work computer, since it runs clean, fast, and stable.
However, the only thing that would stop me from doing this is some good office software. OpenOffice, Libreoffice, Koffice, etc all look nice, however I can't find a way in any of them to generate a chart with superscripted text on an axis title. I've even tried microsoft office web apps and google docs. If anyone knows a solution to my problem that would be amazing
I have been assigned with a project to develop a 3D chart based on the data available in database of mySQL. The chart should be a drill chart which should give further more details of the area where we click on the chart.I tried for a long time to get some information regarding that. I am using OO 3.1 on Karmic 9.10. When working with Open Office Writer and either graphics or charts, a couple of things happen. First of all, the page position moves around. For example, if I click on a graphic I have inserted or on a chart, the page on my screen may shift up or down by a half inch or so. If I click back out in a text area, the page moves back to where it was. This is very annoying. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I have tried turning off compiz completely but it doesn't fix it

OpenSuse11.3 had them but 11.4 doesn't!I searched for apps like skype,isomaster,acetoneiso,openbravo erp,gsmartmon,smooth-task etc but didn't get any result. I have contrib and pacman repos enabled, still no luck...all the above mentioned apps were available in 11.3 then why not in 11.4..is it 'coz it released recently?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get compiz setup but it is not having any affect at all. I installed it and went to the synaptic system manager and added all the compiz plugins that were there. I restarted several times before and after going to the synaptic system manager. It said installed successfully, however it has no effect so it isn't "on" whatsoever. I have watched ..... tutorials on how to set it up. It looked easy enough but did not work for me. I have tried commands from tutorials but I don't know enough or how to edit folder contents. I think they were old tutorials anyways, I am running the newest squeeze debian distro. The 3d desktop was one reason I wanted to try linux. If I can't get the basic apps like this to work then there is no reason for me to use linux.
View 14 Replies View Relatedit was difficult for me to get it set up. So, when Squeeze became the stable release, I strayed. Tried Ubuntu, Mandriva, PCLOS, Mepis, both KDE and Gnome, and after using Lenny for several months, they all sucked. So I'm back, and although it took me several hours, over a few days, and 50 searches, I have Squeeze set up just how I want. I love how fast and stable it is!!
I've become a big fan of Gnome over the past year, because of how simple, fast and stable it is. But, there are a few KDE apps I prefer over the ones available for Gnome. I want to install K3b, KTorrent, digiKam/showFoto, and probably Amarok (although I haven't given Rythembox a fair chance). I realize this will install the KDE base, but other than the space taken up, is there any disadvantage to doing this? If there's a chance it will affect the speed and stability of the system, I'll learn to live without them.

I've configured my HP LaserJet 2300 printer in System Settings, and can print the test page fine, but when I try to print from an application such as Firefox, the application seems to think it's printing, but it doesn't actually print. I see no dialog box telling me that a job was created. There are no new jobs in the printer applet. Where are my print jobs going? I'm not really even sure where to look. I don't see anything printer related in /var/log/messages.
Well, looks like I got it fixed. Not sure exactly why, but restarting CUPS seems to have resolved it. We'll see if it stays working,but for now, I can print...
I am a complete Linux beginner, and have just installed F15 with Gnome for my desktop.
How do I get applications that may be installed but are not on the desktop, onto the desktop with an icon? I want to run iPython now, and soon I will want to run an Office suite...
I have noticed that are a few applications (non part of the kde apps) that do not launch with alt + f2 (command name). Instead I have to use konsole first and write the command name, then the apps appears successfully.
The same problem I have of course with the same apps if I make a desktop shorcut. These apps never show up! Thus I would like to ask you what should I do to make these shortcuts and alt+f2 launches to work.
Perhaps I might be a minority demographic here, but I am. Is there a way and how? Ubuntu Software Center doesn't seem to have this option. I come from a long history of being a Windows power user, and I am picking up pretty quickly with this stuff. I find QT ones leave little screen droppings and it bugs me to no end. Some might not, but I like it to be kind of GTK pure. If I wanted a QT app I would have picked Kubuntu with KDE. I admit that it is kind of cool that you can run an app from another desktop and vice versa. I am not trying to start a flame war, nor am I dissing any of the developers that may have made some awesome QT application I may not know about. Is there another software center like thing I can install that at least combines all the QT and GTK ones into separate groups rather than making me fend for myself?

These pull in a large amount of dependencies and need the occasional tweak to get them running smoothly. Although I prefer the gnome desktop would I be any better installing the kde desktop and then running the applications from the gnome menu? Would there be any advantage to this rather than installing them individually into gnome?

View 6 Replies View Relatedfirefox plays sound in videos, system bell works at startup and shutdown, and i can play a test sound in "system settings --> multimedia --> phonon". but in several other apps, sound doesn't work, e.g. thunderbirds makes no sound when new mail arrives, although beeping is enabled, it only shows an alert; the same in my chess program. it all worked fine in kubuntu 10.04, now i have kubuntu 10.
