General :: Developing Drill Charts Using PHP With MySQL

I have been assigned with a project to develop a 3D chart based on the data available in database of mySQL. The chart should be a drill chart which should give further more details of the area where we click on the chart.I tried for a long time to get some information regarding that. But i couldn't find anything relevant.
I would be much thankful if any one would help me in this issue.Please provide me with some links or any suggested books that would help me.

i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error

i didnt find the mysql.sock file in the location /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. i cannot find the portal-ext.properties file also to make intial settings.
how to generate excel charts from C, or if it's possible at all? For example, if I had 2 arrays that I wanted to export to excel and graph against each other. I know how to export it to a csv file, that's no problem, but I have no idea where to start with generating a graph of the data. I can't seem to find any examples anywhere. I want to have a panel like the panels which exist in Gnome Desktop in my application to add menus, labels, entries, buttons and etc. How can i Do this? How can I add charts and diagrams in my applications?

In the fall when I return to my full time studies in university, I would like it very much to use Ubuntu as my operating system on my main work computer, since it runs clean, fast, and stable.
However, the only thing that would stop me from doing this is some good office software. OpenOffice, Libreoffice, Koffice, etc all look nice, however I can't find a way in any of them to generate a chart with superscripted text on an axis title. I've even tried microsoft office web apps and google docs. If anyone knows a solution to my problem that would be amazing
I am using OO 3.1 on Karmic 9.10. When working with Open Office Writer and either graphics or charts, a couple of things happen. First of all, the page position moves around. For example, if I click on a graphic I have inserted or on a chart, the page on my screen may shift up or down by a half inch or so. If I click back out in a text area, the page moves back to where it was. This is very annoying. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I have tried turning off compiz completely but it doesn't fix it
Does anyone know of a way to change the network charts unit of measure in Gkrellm from bytes/sec to bits/sec? I'm not finding any method to do so in the config options.
Mysql starting problem after changing mysqladmin password.I tried all the solutions available on forums, but not solve the problem.At last I restored the mysql db backup, this make mysql service start, but till other databases not showing all tables.
I have uShare 1.1a setup to talk to my XBox 360. If I share a directory that has no subdirectories, the video files display on the XBox. However, most of my files are in sub-directories on a different partition - I don't really want to copy them to the share, but uShare doesn't seem to recognise any sub-directories or files contained therein.
I have tried setting up symbolic soft links directly to the video files (although this is a pain, it is better than moving the files)...

I have install mysql on my fedora12. My different mysql server is located in us. I want to check health status and hits per seconds everything. Is it possible with mysql-administrator command.

In my mysql db i have added the userip & passwd (allowed the privileages for that ip)
If i use mysql-administrator i am getting below error

Is it possible to develop my websites locally before uploading them to my host? I need PHP and MYSQL. I'd like to have basically http access to my websites locally on my hard disk but restrict access to only me. No access outside of this machine. How to do this?

All the developing environment are installed on A, e.g. libraries, PATH, makefile, etc.However, there is a waste of my machine B, because all the test, debugging are performed on A.
I know that sshfs can map a path to local remotely. May I ask if there is a method to map or mount the whole working environment from A to B please?

I am new to linux. I am pursuing bachelors in computer science engineering. My final year project is to develop a "html to pdf converter using linux". I have some basic knowledge of commands used in unix

I think this goes here, but I'm not sure. I decided that XAMPP had been troublesome enough. MySQL never worked. So I decided to instal the LAMP stack offered by YaST. I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:

I would like to get help from experts who are experienced in the area of Linux network programming to help me to choose the proper way to create a special Firewall program.I do start reading WinSocket and tending to start BSD. I don't want to start with an API like winsock then stuck. So please, I do need a way to accomplish all features such as capturing, dropping or allowing all kinds of LAYERS as well as Intrusion detection.I am a good programmer in C++ but I am new for linux.So, what is the best Linux OS to install and start with and which is the best way to accomodate C++.
I'm starting work on a little project that uses alot of languages separately (i.e no interaction between languages. Does anyone have any experience like this and could pass on some recommendations as to best practises? I'm thinking either have a eclipse-project for each language stored under a single svn repo, or individual projects for each problem.

I have installed Mysql in Ubuntu 9, for the use of roundcube database.After installing iam getting the error like this

So because of this in the roundcube configuration its giving the error message that MYSQL is not installed. So Kindly give me a idea how to solve this.
I'm having problems connecting to the mysql database on my system. I first noticed this when I was trying to set up the program anymeal. I subsequently tried using MySQL Administrator (mysql-admin), but had no luck. It gives my the following feedback:
