How can I open the Trash to clean it??
I am using KDE4.5 in openSUSE11.2
I downloaded and installed k3b from the software center and remember seeing that after it was installed, an additional 180MB would be taken up. so the installation process took about 2-3 minutes after unpackaging or whatever it does. But when I went to uninstall it, it took like 2 seconds. Is there a way to clean up packages that hasn't been uninstalled all the way or haven't been used? Is that normal?

View 2 Replies View Relatedits basically a cleanup script which will clean all my trash folders..
n run
apt-get clean
apt-get autoclean
apt-get autoremove..
how can i do so?
This message comes up when I try to upgrade. The upgrade needs a total of 400M free space on disk '/'. Please free at least an additional 394M of disk space on '/'. Empty your trash and remove temporary packages of former installations using 'sudo apt-get clean'.

I know how to clear the trash from the command line and also the thumbnail folder. I tried to google how to clear firefox but the files to delete seemed to have changed from older versions, they seem to be sqlite files and also I'm unsure which ones to remove. how to clear recent doc's but all the guides seem to be to be for GUI.
I have deleted many things to my trash bin that I want to get back. When I try to open the trash, Ubuntu freezes, window goes black and white, and I end up needing to restart some of the time if not force quit. Is there any way I can open the trash bin? If I hover my mouse over the trash icon in my panel it says I have 485 items in it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRhythmbox had double links to all my mp3s because I moved folders and I wanted to get it to rescan so I highlighted everything and clicked "Move to Trash." Now I want to undo this, but Trash won't open. top output doesn't even indicate that nautilus is taking up resources.

View 2 Replies View Relatedif i click on System or Trash, from the unity launcher, it open movie player. only the player and not either of those places. when clicking Trash, the player opens and starts playing "4 non-blonds", which was probably the last thing sent to the trash. clicking System just opens the movie player not playing anything specific. why is this happening? why cant we access those places. I'm not even sure how to revert. would like not to have to.

I installed Apache 2 and configured it to run on port 18080 through the httpd.conf file. Restarted httpd service. I cannot get to 10.0.0.128:18080 (this is the IP of the machine). The Icecast server webpage is still accessible. No logs are generated by apache in the logs folder. Firewall is off (iptables).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with a couple of folders in the Trash. If I click on the Trash icon, 2 foldersare there, and when I try to delete them, it just says "Failed to delete the item from the trash"
But when I go to .local/share/Trash there are no files there! Anyway, I tried using the command "sudo rm -rf .local/share/Trash", it shows no error, but the files continue when I click in the trash icon.
Only one question: Where is located the trash folder ? (in which directory)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated to KDE 4.2 when it came out on openSUSE 11.1 and things were working OK.
Now I can no longer send files to the Trash. I get an error in Dolphin saying "The trash has reached its maximum size! Cleanup the trash manually."
I deleted a bunch of stuff from my Trash and I have 1.7GB free on my /home partition so it's not a lack of space.
openSUSE 11.3 with GNOME. Every time I try to open up the trash, it gives me an "operation not supported" error, and starting nautilus from the terminal doesn't give me any output. I've tried removing the ~/.local/share/Trash and ~/.nautilus folders for both my main user and root and restarting nautilus, all to no avail.
Also, nothing in nautilus that starts with protocol:// works, like network or burn (or trash).
My only lead so far is that I messed up something in the glib runtime, since I've been working on a project that depends on a lot of GNOME and glib libraries, and have compiled a few from source. But since I can't find any sort of log from nautilus, I have no idea what the cause actually is.
Whenever i try to empty the Trash (As Root) it does so then gives me an error message saying that it can't delete a specific file. It's always the same file and it says:"The file or folder /home/.Trash-0/files/yesterday once more.mp3 does not exist."Having looked in this location logged in as root using both Dolphin and at the command line, this file doesn't exist.
