OpenSUSE :: Extract Phpmyadim Zip To Htdocs Folder

Feb 1, 2010

I am trying to extract the phpmyadim zip to the htdocs folder. Every time I extract the files to the folder, it does not extract anything. I also tried extracting the file to another folder with success, but when I tried dragging and dropping the folder to the htdocs folder I had no luck. I cant write to the folder.

OpenSUSE :: Automatically Keep Htdocs Folder In Sync With SVN Repository?

Apr 27, 2010

I've setup both a http server and svn server and have a SVN project residing in the "/srv/svn/kdrepos/THOR/" directory. I would like this project to automatically do a checkout into the /srv/www/htdocs/ on update/commit. Is this in any way possiblely? Some sites (xp-dev) for example offer an option to have a repository automatically 'added' to a webserver. Does anyone know how is done? I'd xp-dev if it wasn't for the fact that I also need full access rights on the machine

Ubuntu :: Apache Won't Update Htdocs Files?

Jul 6, 2010

I've installed Apache 2 on Ubuntu linux 10.04 as a simple LAN site for testing PHP scripts. But even though I've deleted the default index.html file in htdocs, changed the index file to index.php, put an index.php, chmoded to 775, and gave ownership of the folder to my account, it will not update any of the files. Any time I go to 127.0.1.1 or 127.0.0.1 (Both work, somehow), it has the "It works!" page instead of the page I put there. And yes, I've tried restarting apache, restarting my computer, etc. What's the problem and/or how do I fix it?

tl;dr: Apache keeps displaying the "It works" page even though I've replaced it. How do I fix it?

OpenSUSE Hardware :: Cannot Get The .sh File To Extract The Driver

Sep 13, 2011

I have problems getting a NJY touch screen (LINK) to work that I purchased a while back off ebay. Of course I let myself be fooled by the claims of the manufacturer that it works with openSUSE and did not realize that their drivers (DRIVERS) only go up 9.2 and only 32bit until it was already too late.

The first problem is that I cannot even get the .sh file to extract the driver without giving me errors and all attempts to manually extract the embedded tgz file have failed miserably. The technical support of the manufacturer is extremely limited regarding driver/installation; though they quickly respond to emails, all I got was "try the driver on our download page" - as well as answers along the line "64bit is way too advanced - nobody uses it anyway"

The panel and the controller themselves work, I could get them to work on a WinXP test box. I was hoping that given the multitude of similar panels out there there might be another way of getting it to work...

When I plug it in, dmesg reports:
[16691.691059] usb 3-3: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
[16691.882579] usb 3-3: New USB device found, idVendor=0eef, idProduct=0001
[16691.882585] usb 3-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[16691.882588] usb 3-3: Product: Љ

[Code].....

extract that driver from the file on the manufacturer's website? If that works, is there any way to use a 32bit driver in a 64b system? Or do you think it's possible to use any of the other manufacturers' drivers by adjusting some parameters - they look pretty identical and should not differ too much?

From what I gather the lsusb output is quite similar if not identical what other people get with other controllers.

OpenSUSE :: Extract Things / Install Correctly With YaST?

Aug 19, 2011

Firefox informed me that I should get the latest version. I naively listened to that voice, and was taken to a download screen. I downloaded it. I was hoping for a self-installer, because I'm used to windows. It opened in KPackageKit, or something named similar. I extracted it to my documents, because frankly, I have no idea where to extract it to. Anywhere's I've looked says that most software comes as a package, which you can search for and install in YaST. I searched for "firefox", and nothing new came up. how to extract things to the right place/install them correctly with YaST?

OpenSUSE Install :: Extract A Config From Running Kernel

Oct 17, 2010

I'm looking to extract a config from a working kernel..that much was pretty easy..all ya gotta do is "cp /proc/config.gz ." which will put it in whatever directory you're currently in and then do a "gzip -d config.gz" to get the config file.

Now...after that it gets a bit tricky..Linus says you should never compile a kernel in /usr/src/ because those header files in ../include should never change. He says you should extract a new kernel gz in your home directory and compile it there. I tend to agree (who am I to argue?). Anyway..whereever your sources are this is where you need to copy the config file...

Like this...my home dir is "/home/dart". So I would put the kernel sources there under "/home/dart/linux". I would cd to /home/dart/linux and do "cp /proc/config.gz ." then "gzip -d config.gz" which should leave you with a file called "config", then "mv config .config"

Now here's where I run into a problem..when I do "make xconfig" I get this...

Tried to install the qt3-devel packages from CD but guess what? I ran into cdrom errors which is what I was trying to fix in the first **** place...catch 22 eh?

OpenSUSE :: 11.2 & OpenOffice 3.2 \ Find It Necessary To Extract Specific Data From Received?

Elsewhere is my question about 11.3. I have had to abandon that and 11.3 as my RAM is too small. Now, for the first time in many years, I find it necessary to extract specific data from received .pdf files. According to OpenOffice, editing of these files is only possible from version 3.2. My concern is whether this later vesion will be compatible with 11.2.OpenOffice installed is 3.1.1.4-1.1.4-i586. The same question has been directed to their Forum.

Ubuntu :: Apache Htdocs "nobody" Login?

Jul 31, 2010

I'm hoping that this is, indeed, a "general" issue and I'm not over-thinking anything but long story short - I can't get my Apache htdocs folder to accept any files without copying via sudo through the terminal.. Also, when viewing a page over my network I'm just seeing the raw text/code for the file and not the intended output.I'm assuming that logging in as "nobody" (current owner of htdocs) would allow me to drag/drop/edit files in the htdocs folder itself but I can't for the life of me deduce what the password is for "nobody". Is there a universal default? The security issue posed by such a default does, however, make me think this is something I possibly set up during installation and forgot about?

OpenSUSE :: Ark "Extract Here" Option No Longer On Context Menu

Jun 5, 2010

Up until an hour ago, my openSUSE 11.0 KDE 3.x Konqueror had the usual Ark archive extraction options on the context menu. An hour ago, during an extraction operation, Ark and/or KWin crashed and I had to log back in.

Now the Ark extraction options are no longer on the menu. All I have is the Ark "Extract To..." option.

What happened and how can I fix it? And yes, I have all the required integration plugins, etc., the thing was working fine for the last two years. Now it's broken. Where is the config file or lock file or whatever that I need to find to fix this.

OpenSUSE :: Open A Folder In KDE 4.35?

Jun 13, 2010

under 11.2/KDE 4.35 I'm not able to move through the directory tree, neither with dolphin nor with konqueror.

If I click on a folder, a plus or minus sign appear alternately, but the folder isn't opened.

If I double-click on the folder icon, nothing happens.

So under 11.2 I just can not access the files stored under a previously installed 11.1 in the home tree (i.e in a separate partition on that HD) !

Is my machine too slow ? Do I have hardware too old (Pentium III Katmai on an Intel mainboard with onboard graphics) ?

OpenSUSE :: Nautilus: Get The Opened Folder To The Top?

I was wondering if there is a way to make Nautilus scroll up when opening folders. If I open a folder at the bottom of the page, the subfolders open below and I have to use the scroll bar to move down the page to see what's under the top folder. I would like to have it put the opened folder at the top of the page so I can see as many subfolders and files as possible without having to scroll. Something like the file roller when you are looking for a place to extract files. It does exactly what I'm looking for. Are there any settings I can change in Nautilus that would provide this function?
