Basically, my middle mouse button (button 2) wasn't being detected by mumble when I was trying to enter a ptt key. The button itself was bound to do some weird copy-paste function, so I figured maybe that's why, so I rebound it to Shift+Right arrow using xbindkeys and xvkbd. I then went into mumble and it detected this no problem, however due to the xbindkeys config, when I press the middle mouse button it only does the bound function once.... i.e. I press it, it sends Shift+Right arrow to the X serv, but then stops, which is obviously useless for a push-to-talk button.
So, really what I am asking is, how should I go about sorting this? Is xbindkeys able to translate a keypress in sync with the mouse button (i.e if I hold the mouse button, it holds down the keys bound to it) or am I going down the wrong route and there is a better way to get middle mouse as my push to talk button on mumble. Perhaps a different keybind software?
A few days ago I decided to install mumble and create a mumble-server on my computer. So far the network requirements have been met, I have forwarded the necessary ports, etc.. etc... The only problem is mumble-server. As soon as I install it, if I restart my computer and run the terminal command
Code: $ murmurd The servers starts and the database (murmur.sqlite) and log (murmur.log) files are created. As for the ini file, I am able to specify an ini file found in my /home/MYUSERNAME directory, it will use that ini file. The server will be up, and me and my friends will be able to use it. I can kill the server and restart it without a problem. As soon as my computer is restarted, if i run the murmurd command this appears, whereas before nothing appeared unless i forced the server to stay attached to the terminal.
After a fresh install 11.3 copy the saves .xbindkeysrc to /home/username compiled and installed xbindkeys again this is the link to XBindKeys No keys working I had to remove the keyboard definition in xorg.conf I had to rescan all the keys because they have a DIFFERENT VALUE
I'm having trouble installing Mumble 1.2.2. I'm running OpenSuse 11.3 (i586). I started by following the instructions provided on this page : BuildingLinux - Mumble I followed instruction to compile with GIT. I installed git-core with yast and then entered commands as specified in the referenced page.
The problem comes when I try to use the qmake command (qmake -recursive main.pro). I get a command not found message and after running (cnf qmake) here is the answer I get: The program qmake can be found in the following package: * libqt4-devel [ chemin : usr/bin/qmake, dpt : zypp 9repo-oss ] (My dist is french, "chemin" means "path" and "dpt" means "deposit", can you make sense of that?) So it appears that qmake is installed but I can't run it in terminal for some reason.
I want the "search" button on my mouse to be a middle click. In my .xbindkeysrc file I have
Code: "xte 'keydown Control_L' 'mouseclick 1' 'keyup Control_L'"# m:225 but it still just selects the google search bar on firefox. Using xev, it shows Code: KeyRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x2600001, root 0xb4, subw 0x0, time 166414200, (1135,637), root:(1139,660), state 0x10, keycode 225 (keysym 0x1008ff1b, XF86Search), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: XFilterEvent returns: False that means its seen as a keyboard button 225 right?
I tried doing something like Code: "konqueror" m:225 to test it, but nothing. Something is overwriting its function. In Configure Desktop > Keyboard & Mouse > shortcut stuff, and didn't see the search button used anywhere.
I seem to be having an issue that started rather suddenly. when i enabled click to play in flags. i tried disabling click and play and google talk and even removing google talk and reinstalling with no luck. can someone give me an idea of what else to look for and try? I'm using Chromium 10.
I am trying to use 32 bit Gemalto pkcs#11 on 64 bit 3.5.8 Firefox on 64bit Opensuse 11.2(2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2010-03-16 21:25:39 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux). Unfortunately I do not have 64 bit pksc#11. I have installed 32 bit pkcs#11 and the smart card is accessible from operation system. Is there any solution to push 64bit Firefox to work with 32 pksc#11?
New pooter, just installed SuSE 11.1. Would appreciate some insight into which Nvidia driver is right for my system, and what is the maximum resolution I can use without potentially causing any damage (if that's even a real concern). Here are the specifics.
[Code]...
So, now the questions.
a) Should I leave both sets of drivers installed, or should I delete one of them?
b) If delete, which should be taken off?
c) If neither of these drivers is the right one, which do you suggest I get instead?
d) I currently have the resolution set at 1920X1440. Is there any reason to worry that I might be overdriving anything and potentially causing damage to the system?
I'm having a problem with xbindkeys giving the wrong mapping information, hence I can't get it work at all when trying new mappings from this machine. From another computer, I have some definitions for xbindkeys (made with xbindkeys-config). These key codes work correctly on this computer I'm having difficulty with. From the config file for example:
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop, and I'm pretty fed up with having to pay companies to host my Mumble server, while its something I could handle to do.But I just don't know how to do, nor what to do.Ive scowled the Internet for legit tutorial but nothing adds up.How can I host my own Mumble Server? Can somebody give me a detailed tutorial
i'm new to linux, and i want to create mumble servers for my friends. My first server is finished and he works but, is it possible to create multiples instances of mumble ?
I'm trying to set up my own mumble server, but I don't want to use the default port 64738, for security reasons. I've tried changing the lines:
Code:
# Port to bind TCP and UDP sockets to port=64738
in the /etc/mumble-server.ini file to a port of my own choosing. However, it won't work unless I use port 64738. Is there anything I can do about this? Do I perhaps need to change something in ice (whatever that is)?
I used Mumble 1.2.2 for a while on my Slackware 13.1 system without any problems. After some time (before 1.2.3 was released) it suddenly stopped working. A few days ago, I wiped my disk and re-installed Slackware 13.1. Compiling 1.2.3 worked. Running it just stopped with a "FUTEX"-Error. I searched the source code for futex (with "-i" parameter) and didn't found anything. There were matches in the compiled object files. So, it's probably something with Qt.
Then I compiled Mumble 1.2.2 and run it. Worked. But it didn't find my microphone. I can hear everybody else but I cannot talk. I tried every device but there is no sound. If I activate the microphone in alsaconfig I can hear myself, so the microphone seems to work. A few minutes ago, I compiled Mumble 1.2.3. You know what? It runs without any "FUTEX_WAIT" error. But, the microphone does not work.
who to install mumble 1.2 on slackware 13 i can't install, missing dependencies, tx. hola alguien sabe como instalar mumble 1.2 en slackware 13? no encuentro las dependencias, gracias
I am just starting to use fedora as I'm on compsoc committee at my uni, and need to be able to use the server which runs it. Am trying to get a mumble server running (just on my laptop with a fedora 14 install) And am really struggling, can't get the stuff manually and do it, as it says it depends on some other packages which I can't find in the package manager, and if I just use the murmur package in the manager, then it doesn't seem to install, and even if it does, if I try to run it, it says the database is not writeable
So I have an EVO and am trying to learn how to use adb. What I'm trying to do is push a new bootanimation.zip to it. I have already downloaded the android.sdk and am wondering what to do now?have so far been able to, in terminal, do:"sudo su" and it logs me in as root...then I try "./adb remount" and it says insufficient permissions for device. Then I try "./adb devices" and it says "????????????no permissions"During these steps I had my phone hooked up via USB and had USB debugging on and USB storage on
I am having some problems with my CPU speed detailed here: [URL]
Basically it is restricting my computer to 800Mhz after 10-15mins for no reason. With Windows I was able to use something called Notebook Hardware control to ramp up the speed to the max of 1.73GHz. With the cpufreq applet, it won;t do anything.
Is there another program I can use to override the speed?
With bash is there a way to push and pop the current working directory? I tried writing bash;cd dir; ./dostuff;exit; but the current directory is now dir.
I have connected to the VPN server successfully but my IP address still shows up as my normal WAN rather than the server's IP address.hat the push settings I have to configure on the server? Here is my server.conf:Quote:
I have a firewall between two different subnets. The reason for the second subnet within the internal network is because I have a mail server that I want to protect. However, we need to make sure that the mail server can communicate with the internal network as well.
Mail server is 192.168.100.100 Firewall is 192.168.100.1 and 10.110.101.5 (and its gateway is 10.110.101.1 to the router)
I go to another workstation and ping the mail server. I can't. It times out. I do the same from the mail server. It times out as well.
I have been running s-video to my tv now for quite some time and am still running hardy. I would like to upgrade to 9.10 and push my dvi out to my tv as a second monitor.(would that be better quality?) I will have to reconfigure my x config like I had to with the s-video in hardy, or will 9.10 recognize it in my monitor settings?
I want to ask a question regarding on the "locale" problem. I've searched a lot on Google, but I think there is no detailed information and logic explained this topic well. Someone may suggest use Preference->Administration->Language Support to add or change whatever language I want. I can't use this way beacuse:
1. I need try to push locale configuration to a lot of linux clients. 2. I want to know the detailed information of how to configure.
I have tried to find the most helpful page on the Internet and read some "man locale":
I have read the wiki and several online tutorials and still cannot get my machines to talk to each other over NFS.Both are amd64 with Debian testing. Tutorials invoke programs that do not exist in testing, instructions are inadequate or too old.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 AMD64 with KVM and several VMs running the same OS. Everything was running fine and the VMs were using the host's network via bridging. The decision was made to move the server to completely different network. I shut it down, the system was moved and hooked up, and I got it up on the new network pretty easily--just modified /etc/network/interfaces and /etc/resolv.conf. No networking problems at all.
Then I fired up virt-manager, powered up one of the VMs, and made the same kinds of changes. It's not talking beyond the VM server. I can ping the host, but can't ping the gateway. "tcpdump -i eth0" shows plenty of traffic.
it's possible to "talk to" a website like facebook, and that's how games such as farmville have been built - i was wanting to know how this is architected, i.e. how does a website decide how to "offer up" its data to the outside world?i'd like your favourite web links, or even paper book recommendations, though i don't if those will be available or affordable over here, or, what would be especially great would be video lectures, maybe on videos?
- I am running with Oracle UEL 6.0 (2.6.32-100.28.5.el6) because stock RHEL 6.0 (2.6.32-71.el6 ) has issues with the async I/O driver.
- The test is a high throughput performance benchmark running on Oracle 11gR1
- I am pumping a lot of disk I/O through the system while running with enough users to max out the 8 CPUs, which get to 99+% utilization with RHEL 5.3
- The server is a 4-socket Nehalem EX X7560. Right now, only 2 cores per socket are enabled.
- There are GBs of memory left over. The disk response time of the SSD arrays is around 1ms and the arrays are capable of 4-5 times more IOPS. Same with networking, etc. The testbed is capable of maxing out 32 CPUs with RHEL 5.3 I cannot push the RHEL 6.0 CPU utilization past 95-96%. The same test on all flavors of RHEL from 4.4 to 5.3 can totally saturate the CPUs. It feels like the system is intentionally holding back some CPU cycles.
