OpenSUSE :: Copy - Paste - KMail - Not Only The Marked Text Will Be Pasted But A Kind Of HTML Code Including The Text

since some days I have a strange problem with KMail (1.13.5) in KDE4.5.5. When I try to copy some text from an email and past it to any other program (e.g. Openoffice), not only the marked text will be pasted, but a kind of HTML code including the text.
This bug is not OpenSuse specific. I found the same bug in a Fedora mailing list (of course, whithout an answer): Strange Copy/Paste behavior in KMail 1.13.5/Kontact 4.4.8

I'm running and XP virtual machine using KVM / QEMU. THere are time when I need to copy text from an application in the Fedora host machine and paste the text into a different app in the XP guest machine. I was able to do this using Vitualbox on an earlier version of Fedora.

I'm looking for software which will allow me to record a screen-cast of a terminal based application, recording keystrokes, timing of keystrokes, and audio. I see a couple of advantages to this approach over video capture: Display independence: the viewer can display text in any resolution/style they want, not limited to the resolution of the recorded video. Ability to copy and paste text from the screencast.

I am trying to copy paste from a file in Nano to a text editor outside of nano on my machine (I am running windows using Nano through Putty) and I cannot figure out how to do it. I can select with mouse support enabled everything that I want to in Nano and I can cut it, but when I try to copy into my other text editor, it does not work.

i'm used to using putty on a window's machine.With putty whatever you select is automatically on the clipboard without having to right click and select copy.And right click just pastes.

I put a text file on my desktop and added a couple lines of text with gedit. File type shows text/plain. Double-click opens the file in gedit which is what I want. I'm using the file to temporarily hold some snips of code that I copy from file to file, but when I copy some html into the file and save it, now file properties show it's text/html and a double-click opens the file in firefox, which isn't what I want. Is there some way to keep the file type from changing itself?

I have a .txt-file with ~50.000 lines of numbers, generated by a mathematics program. From this file, I need line ~ 1.100 to line ~16.000 (these lines are always the same btw, this may make the solution easier, dunno) to be copy/pasted to another file, where the lines ~500 to ~15.000 (also, every time the same) should be overwritten by the aforementioned lines...I haven't found or come up with anything that works yet, mostly I find solutions to copy everything from one file to another but I can't find something to specifically overwrite a part of a file with part of another.

To any user of an email program running on KDE: Let's call Kmail to such a program. When I am in the GUI, Kmail notifies me of any email that is entering. It does so by playing a .wav file through the loudspeakers (and displaying a little window in the desktop). But what happens if I am in a text console? Let's says I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F3. So now I am in virtual console #3. Shall I hear the sound? This question mortifies me.

I'm running LibreOffice 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 on openSUSE 11.4 KDE. Does anybody have a problem where the KDE interface hangs after copying text in LibreOffice writer? On my system, I copy text in LibreOffice Writer either with the keyboard shortcut or with the context menu, and then I try to click on another window in the task bar, and it doesn't respond for about 2 seconds. The interface within LibO does keep responding though.

How do you paste text copied from some outside vim source (like a web browser)? That's the one thing that bugs me. I'm trying to more proficient w/ vim, but when I read some instructions on the web that say copy and paste this text into yadayda.conf, I can do that w/ gedit, but can't figure it out in vim.

I'm using GNOME terminal to SSH into a Debian server and would really like a way to paste multiple lines of text into configuration files (using the nano text editor if possible).
So far whatever I try dumps all the text onto a single line meaning I have to manually go through inserting line feeds which is tedious and can introduce errors.
Is there a way to paste text with line feeds intact? Rather than copying each line individually?

I need to extract som text from a text file. The text is a test log with system info at the top and results further down. What I need is to add different tags with formatting before and after each line. I have prepared a template with html formatting, but the number of lines in the test log may be different from case to case, so I need to be able to add formatting tags by need. How can rich text or HTML source code be obtained from the X clipboard? For example, if you copy some text from a web browser and paste it into kompozer, it pastes as HTML, with links etc. preserved. However, xclip -o for the same selection just outputs plain text. I'd like to pull the HTML out and into a text editor.

My code perl code is as below.I want to print the contents of file "/dir/Myfile".But problem is that the file "Myfile" contains html content as below.

I have looked inside and out of KMail, and for the life of me, I cannot seem to find out how to make KMail maintain HTML formatting and keep the images when REPLYING to sender or FORWARDING an email to another or others. Does anyone know a tweak to make KMail Replies and forwards to stop convert everything to plain text and strip the images? I live in a family where we all share parody, etc. emails, and plain text rarely ever cuts it. I did not suffer such with Thunderbird.

When I print receipts from certain company's emails, they span three pages or more bloated with images, links and overly large text. I can view the message in plain text by setting the preferences to only display text instead of html, but it doesn't affect what is printed. I still get the full HTML page printed. Is there a way to force evolution to print in plain text instead of HTML?
