View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm install a genius web cam eye 312 in fedora 11. The image is upside down in all the programs. In amsn there is no colors, and image upside down. In skype, chesse full colors very nice, but image upside down.
amsn give me this information:
v4l2 : usb camera (93a:2622)pac 7311.
The command Lsusb give me
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 093a:2622 Pixart Imaging, Inc.
So I think there is a problem with the driver it self.
I've read a lot and I still can't configure my webcam. I've read about spca 5xx but when I go to and click on the debian package, it takes me to a "No such package" site inside debian's package.debian.orgAny idea how to resolve this? maybe there's another way to have this webcam working. I know there's a way to make a .deb package from a .rpg, would that work in this situation?

But the tablet doesn't work!.
This is how i made my Genius G-Pen F610 Tablet on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Everything works but the buttons the sides of the tablet, the buttons of the pen(stylus) work as well. First I was looking at these websites, as a reference: [URL] So, let's begin our journey:
1. Add this ppa: ppa:doctormo/xorg-wizardpen (I've went to System-Administration-Software Sources-Other Software-Add and copy-pasted this at the APT line: ppa:doctormo/xorg-wizardpen )
2. Install xserver-xorg-input-wizardpen (I went to System-Administration-Synaptic Package Manager and typed wizardpen (on the QuickSearch bar) It showed me that there is a packet called xserver-xorg-input-wizardpen, I have right-clicked and check Mark for Installation, and then went to Apply button.)
3. Run cat /proc/bus/input/devices in the terminal (I openned Applications-Accessories-Terminal and there I pasted (by that I mean pressing Middle-mouse button this way you can easely paste) this code: cat /proc/bus/input/devices)Now it will show all the devices on your computer, so you need to find the event for your tablet. My F610 tablet is recognised by Ubuntu like this:

I'm trying to make work a logitec orbit... wich is supposed to be supported out of the box using uvc drivers already part of my kernel.
The system automatically assign it to /dev/video0 and works ok with mplayer; but sometimes is not linked with /dev/video0 which is a pain... like right now.

I had quite a bit of trouble getting OSS4.2 and flash to have sound on x86_64 fedora 11. I had been using the Adobe repository which is 32bit. Adobe labs distributes a 64 bit version, and I notice now that Leigh has packaged it for fedora. Switching to the 64bit flash plugin brought back sound in flash for me. Just wanted anyone else wanting to try OSS4.2, to know how to get sound in flash.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFedora (2.6.34.6-47.fc13.x86_64) I installed that update, during the installation process it said that it had to remove three packages, one of them was kmod nvidia for the old kernel (Fedora (2.6.33.8-149.fc13.x86_64))After the update finished installing the new kernel, I restarted the system and Nvidia did not load. (I assume because Update manager removed the old nvidia? But I also assumed that a new version would be installed automatically?)I received the following Boot messages:
Code:
Entering non-interactive startup
Starting monitoring for VG vg_user1: 3 logical volume(s) in volume group "vg_user1" monitored
[code]....
I'm confused, if Update Manager removed kmod nvidia, then why does yum say it is installed? And why doesn't the new kernel update work with that version? Or should I install a driver version for that particular kernel? I've read while searching that I need to install a kmod-nvidia for that particual kernel version and that I should login to my previous kernel until that happens, is that the problem I'm having?
Why don't rpmfusion and fedoraproject release the kmod-nvidia and kernel updates at the same time to avoid problems such as this? Does anyone know how long does it usually take for rpmfusion to release the new kmod-nvidia driver for the latest kernel?

Is it possible for plymouth to work with the ATI Catalyst driver installed in Fedora 15 x86_64?
Is it that plymouth requires KMS and Catalyst doesn't provide it? With the nvidia driver, I could put a vga= line in grub and plymouth would run. Is there something similar for catalyst?
The only user that can make the sound card work on a F10 x86_64 system is root. For non root users, I am not seeing any error messages when a app tries to use/access the sound card, just nothing plays. As I said, for root everything works as expected. I am sure this is a permission/setup issue, but I have no idea where to start.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a standard Fedora 13 system where it is runnign fine, there it uses the uvcvideo kernel module and gives me a picture in resolution 640x480. Then I have a second system, based on Fedora 8, stripped down to a minimum size (it is working as headless system) and with a self-made kernel 2.6.33.5 that has compiled in i2c-core, v4l1, v4l2 and uvcvideo. There the webcam does not work, as soon as I try to access it with "webcam" of xawtv package I get an error
[Code]....
Beside of that v4l-info tells me, that it can handle a resolution of 176x144 only (instead of 640x480). Beside the difference of the resolution the output of v4l-info is identical on both systems.
My microsoft vx3000 lifecam just shows up as green.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe sc spreadsheet app doesn't really work in 64bits. It launches but you're unable to do anything with it, it's not possible to enter any values in the cells or do anything else. It works fine in 32bit though.
To make it work properly in 64bits, you can use this patch, borrowed from debian: http://salix.enialis.net/x86_64/13.1...changes-7.16-3
And there is also this patch to make DESTDIR work properly with the Makefile: http://salix.enialis.net/x86_64/13.1...-destdir.patch
It looks like the ocfs2console is broken on openSuse 11.4 64bit. I tested on several servers and my laptop. It works under 11.3 x86_64 but that uses Python 2.6. OpenSuse 11.4 uses Python 2.7.
I tried to submit a bug but I can't seem to get my email address verified so I can use the bug tracker.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do recall being able to at least figure out Debian enough that I got my wireless working (a few years back). Today I popped in a fresh Live LXDE DVD. I can't find that my wireless is recognized, nor can I find any graphical network management utilities. Nothing network related. Perhaps its all in the command line, but I'm not too familiar with it (though I'm not averse to following instructions if I can use that to simply fix this issue).
I did look at documentation first. To the best of my ability anyway. I could not use it to help myself. Once I get internet working, at least I can trouble shoot on the Debian installation itself, which makes the process much easier. Having to switch out to a Windows installation is a pain.
Using ubuntu 10.04 a dell 1320 colour laser printer. I have been using a xerox driver for this but it will only printer from the single sheet feeder and no the paper tray. It works fine with XP and windows driver. I know that there is not a dedicated driver for linux but is there one which will work correctly and how do I install it?

openSUSE Lizards ATI HD57xxx fglrx drivers under 11.3
However, after installation I can't start X. The log shows the kernal doesn't match.
Then I try to install the ATI Catalyst 10.7. It won't start X as well. I think maybe ATI Catalyst 10.7 is particular designed for Radeon, isn't it?
BTW, why there is no entry for 11.3 at:
