View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using gnucash for years and never had any problems but now every time I try to load it it crashes upon trying access an account. The sequence is that it first tells me it cannot get a lock on ANY of my files reporting that they may be in use by somebody else; this is impossible. However when I do load it the initial list of accounts installs.
However when I try to open any specific account Gnucash crashes. I am using Mepis 8.0 and Gnucash 2.2.6 directly from the repositories. I have removed it and reinstalled it but to no avail. I have tried to install version 2.2.9 as a tar file but I keep getting dependency errors despite the fact the files are installed.
I'm trying to configure our mail server to block email from a specific sender reaching a specific recipient. In other words, if one of our employees is getting harassed by a 'stalker', how would one go about blocking, at the MTA (Sendmail) level, a specific sender email address from reaching a particular users inbox? We do not want to capture the email - simply block it before it consumes server resources.The Sendmail server (MTA) is a front end to our Exchange server so no user accounts exist on the Linux server. We simply use it as a SPAM and Virus scanner then forward clean email to the Exchange server.

We would like to know if there are any free tools or a script that when the load average hits a certain point it will trigger the system to start logging the processes to see what is happening. Usually by the time we get logged into the system the load average is on its way down. If someone has a better idea please let me know.

I want to run a specific command from one server to another. For example I have a server called A(client) and a server called B(Server). How would i fire a command on Server(B) while working on Client(A). One way of doing it is using ssh

After changing the administrator password only information_schema and test databases are shown in GUI tools (webmin or mysql administrator GUI tool). After the error I restored the password to the old used
if I use mysql in terminal, and use show databases; I can see the 7 databases that I have.
I aslo cannot access to any field using GUI tools (cannot acces to database permissions, or MySQL Server Configuration, host permissions or MySQL system variables). The error is:

We have few servers and we need to monitor mysql and ping (port 80) on our servers to send us email notification and also we need sms notification when something is wrong, we can ask our developer to write sms notification (which is very important for us) because we already have the API and only need a output from a good monitoring tools to show to our developer and ask him to write the notification program.
Our primary sever is centos with WHM installation and hosts about 600 websites.(need to monitor mysql & port 80 on this.)The secondary one is windows server with virtuzzu installation and host about 15 windows VPS (The server crashing some times and we need to findout its out of service ASAP .)Should we use monitoring websites such as hypersins.com or siteuptime.com (which is a little expensive for us especially because of international sms rates.) or there is nice tools we can easily configure and use !
I am doing a migration and where i face problem with few file formats . I have the list of acceptable file formats , now i need to find the rest of the file formats other than the acceptable file formats. is there any tool available for this ? or can some give me the VBA macro .. My VBA macro works to find the file extension in a particular folder but the problem is its ending when the count increases to 65000 (excel limit). How do i use If condition here to avoid the acceptable format and give me unique file formats .

I have several machines that backup content to this server via scheduled cronjobs and I'm curious to see if the machine is hitting a bottleneck under load.I attempted to setup cacti on one of our LAMP servers and had a miserable time due to running PHP 5.3 and deprecated function issues.Can anyone recommend an alternative keeping in mind I have only very basic experience with SNMP?

The last thing (I hope) that I haven working are the smbldap-tools which I'd like to use for adding computers and users to the domain. The part where I'm stuck is with the security certificates. I don know how to get the client certificates out of my installation.

I used the setupssl2.sh script to setup ssl for my 389-ds, which seemed to have worked fine. I however simply have no clou how to get client certificates out of this.
Is it possible to install some administrative tools under the System -> Administration tab of the Desktop edition of Ubuntu, so that xinetd, chkconfig, netservices, etc can be controlled? I am left with an uneasy feeling about my Desktop version, and finding that it is running services that I really do not want to allow. Apache2 is running for example, but I really am not a web server (yet). Another service is strigi, the indexer.
