I just rescued an old Lexmark Z35 and have been trying to find the file CJLZ35LE-CUPS-2.0-1.TAR.GZ. All the links I've found in this forum and Google seem to be broken. Does anyone know where can I find them? I have a Lexmark x5250 too, which I haven't been able to use in Ubuntu. I've heard there's a way to make it work.
I can't get my Lexmark printer (X1270) working on Ubuntu. I've trawled google and all the posts are a few years old with broken links to drivers. Does anyone know how to get an X1270 or a general printer driver for lexmark working?
if there is a printer driver that will drive a Lexmark c540n laser printer? I have had a look on the Lexmark web site and could find no drivers for Fedora. Would a driver for, say, Red Hat function with this printer?
I'm trying to install the Lexmark printer driver package for my PRO205 but when it asks for my root password it wont accept it? It keeps saying password is incorrect? Ubuntu 10.10
I am trying to install a lexmark 5600 printer driver. It asks me for my root administrator password. I enter the only password on the system as it is my home computer and I am the only user. I get error message stating it is the wrong password.

Ubuntu 10.04 and have a problem with loading the Linux printer drivers for my new Lexmark printer. When I try to load up the printer driver downloaded from the Lexmark site I am asked to enter a root administrator password, but when I enter the password I used to setup the OS it will not accept it. I have reviewed the "sudo" terminal password info, but as I am a newbie I was concerned about wrecking the installation.
Does anyone know how to get a Lexmark X4530 to print on Ubuntu 11.04 and possibly on WIFI? It is recognized on the network but will not print with the recommended driver.
I upgraded from a 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04 to a 64 bit Ubuntu 10.10. Under 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04, I had a Lexmark X1290 printer working flawlessly. Now I'm trying to install this printer again on the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 system. I'm following the instructions from [URL].. and using the Z600 series driver from Lexmark.
Create a directory named lexmark and unpack the driver:
Code: mkdir lexmark tar -xvzf CJLZ600LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.gz Extract the driver from the install script: Code: tail -n +143 z600cups-1.0-1.gz.sh > install.tar.gz
I tried to install a lexmark z1300 printer, but ubuntu did not recognize it and it crashed. I got a blank screen with a cursor in the middle of the screen that was not flashing. I tried "ctrl + alt +backspase" and it did not work so i had to turnoff the computer by hand. After i turned it back on, i could no longer use vlc player. When i tried to open an .avi file i got the message shown below and i could only hear the audio. I tried to reboot with the option to repair broken packages and that only messed up my window borders (i.e. i had no option to min max or close the windows). The window border problem was solved by just rebooting the computer but vlc media player still does not work.
MESSAGE FROM VLC PLAYER: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
I want to install a Lexmark printer which for some crazy reason wants the root password. The deb installer will not take my password which has sudo privileges. I understand that Ubuntu locks the root pass, but how can I get around this?
I have Dell 1545 pre-loaded with Ubuntu 9.04. It has Oracle VM VirtualBox installed, for which I run Ubuntu 10.04. I have downloaded drivers for Ubuntu 10.04 to interface with Lexmark X6650, and can easily print documents from Ubuntu 10.04. However, I cannot figure out how to access the scan function.
Have split hard drive into Windows 7 OS & Ubuntu OS. The printer connected to Windows 7 with no problems but I am unable to load the printer in Ubuntu 11.04.
I recently bought a Lexmark Interpret S405 printer, and the box says that it's compatible with ubuntu. I downloaded the lexmark-inkjet-09-driver-1.0-1.i386.rpm.sh, which begins installation but gives the error message The installer package is not supported by your native packaging system. The installer will exit. I also downloaded the Linux_S305_E.sh, which doesn't even begin installation. PLEASE HELP, I have two brand new Lexmark printers, (the other being an X5630) and they both refuse to install or i just have no idea how to install them.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04. I am trying to print on a Lexmark 9300 series printer connected to a Windows XP machine. I am able to print on an HP Laserjet 5P printer connected to a Windows 7 machine just fine.
I'm a new opensuse user, and I've got a lexmark z517 colour printer, that works correctly on my ubuntu, but it was a tough job to make it work on opensuse, because of the rarely support of this printer, but I found some howto-s, and with a little correction, I managed to install the driver, I share my solution to help people with this printer. This is it: How to install Lexmark Z517 printer on openSuse 11.1
The driver for lexmark z600 should be good for z517 also, so I searched for driver for z600. I found a little manual at The Lexmark Z605 printer and SuSE 9.3, a little HOWTO, but it didn't work with my system. So we need a little makeup. Before you enter the method, you should install libstdc++ from the package manager, because the printer driver will miss it.
I am trying to install printer - Lexmark X2670 All in One. On Lexmark download site i found this[URL]..There are three links - I dont know wich of them is for my system?(Suse 11.4)

I have a 64 bit laptop and i am using the 64 bit version of ubuntu 10.10. i am wanting to setup a lexmark x4650 printer which has wifi built in and can do wireless printing. i have the driver from lexmark installed but it is the i386 version which i know is the 32 bit version. and i know that 32 and 64 bit versions don't work so well together. i've gone through all kinds of help on these forums and for some reason when go to print a test page, it comes back with an error statement. i will have to try it again so i can post it verbatim.
i have a similar thread in the 64 bit thread so if it can be locked or deleted and have just this one, that would be cool. this same printer is not connected to any computer for it's wireless printing ability. it is a stand alone but all of my families laptops can use it since they have the software on theirs. they are using windows 7 which is what i have also, but i am switching to linux since i am not a fan of microsoft at all. i despise everything they do. i love linux and the community around it and i just want to get this printer setup so i can make the last and final switch. this is the only thing holding me up.
We are running RHEL 5.1 on the 2.6.18.53 kernel. We are attempting to pass print jobs to a Lexmark printer with the lp -o landscape command. The print jobs continue to print "portrait". Is anyone aware of this issue and is there a work-around to get these print jobs to print in landscape format?
