It shows:- No scanners detected Please check your scanner is connected and powered on.

I Also visited [url] & found as below-

ScanJet 3770 Unsupported. While an external binary-only backend exists, it works only on Linux i386. Therefore the scanner is unsupported on other platforms.

Ubuntu :: Canon MX320 Scanner Not Able To Get The XSane Image Scanner To Recognize Scanner?

Jul 11, 2010

I just received a Canon Pixma MX320 as a gift.

I am currently running the Ubuntu 10.04 OS

I was able to get the printer up and running by downloading the printer driver for debian linux (3.1) from the Canon site without any problems.

Unfortunately I am not having the same luck with the scanner.

I tried downloading ScanGear MP for Linux (deb) (1.3) from the same Canon site but have not yet been able to get the XSane Image Scanner to recognize this scanner driver for my Canon.

Ubuntu :: XSane Image Scanner Won't Recognize Scanner?

Sep 7, 2010

I've installed XSane Image Scanner. When I first opened it, it searched for my scanner and didn't give any error messages, and it had my scanner model in the heading of the scan window. But when I hit the scan button, it gave me saying, "Failed to start scanner: error during device I/O.I closed everything, and opened XSane again. This time it said there was no scanner available. The scanner is plugged into the USB port and uses that for both power and data. It's a Canoscan Model N650U.

Ubuntu Networking :: Configure Scanner Connected On A Router?

I've installed packages from here[URL].do (iscan) and adding on /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf the line

Code:

Ubuntu :: Epson Scanner Not Detected - No Usbfs Module

Mar 7, 2010

Have an Epson Expression 1640 XL A3 scanner (usb & network interface card). Bus=0002 Device=004 its usb ID is 0x04b8 0x0109 I have never been able to connect the scanner using the network - if anybody can advise, I would be very grateful. Quite happy to use this if usb is going to be a problem The scanner has worked very well through the usb and wask working well with 9.04(32bit). I have bought a new machine and did a fresh install of 9.10 (64bit) and the scanner is not detected.

xsane detects my webcams (vl4:/dev/video*)but no scanner Have run sudo xsane-find-scanner - only the webcams are detected Have edited /etc/sane.d/epson2.conf - added scanner usb ID, and added the lines:- usb /dev/usb/scanner0 usb /dev/usbscanner0 as advised in one of the threads in this forum sudo scanimage -L gave this-

WARNING: Unhandled message: interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Introspectable, path=/, member=Introspect
device `v4l:/dev/video1' is a Noname Creative Labs Webcam Pro Ex virtual device
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 virtual device

Do I need to select M for these three modules?

the following had [M] -
USB Printer support
Microtek X6USB scanner support

It looks like the scanner module has not been loaded, and possibly the usbfs yet usb webcam and card readers are accessible. I have tried to keep outputs relevant & short. If I have omitted anything, you would like full results or any other information.

Debian :: Monitor Not Detected Unless Connected With HDMI

Nov 13, 2015

I noticed that Debian 8 has a significant bug related to detecting presence of display(s). Today, I woke my computer from sleep while the LCD monitor was unplugged from power (the monitor is connected via DVI) then I powered the monitor but nothing was displayed. Next, I connected another monitor via HDMI and both screens started working. However after disconnecting HDMI cable from the second monitor the first one with DVI stopped showing anything. The conclusion of this situation is that HDMI monitor must be connected all the time.

I thought that this is caused by graphics driver, but I experienced the problem on different machines, one with nvidia driver and DVI, and the second with default free driver and DisplayPort.

I just checked that this is related to KDE. After switching to console using ctrl+alt+f1 the screen turns on, but when I am going back via ctrl+alt+f7 the screen disappears.

Following a clean install, Fedora can see the wireless network just fine. I try to connect and nothing happens. Half of the time it will ask for the PSK (yes, I promise I'm entering it correctly) and the other half of the time it will just stop. General :: Input Not Supported Message When Monitor Is Powered Off Then Back On?

Mar 27, 2010

I've been getting a message on my monitor where "Input not supported" is floating around. This only happens when I manually turn the monitor off and then later turn it back on. Leaving the monitor on and allowing it to go to the screen saver doesn't seem to cause the issue (but I prefer to turn the monitor off if I'm going to be away from the computer for any length of time).

Specs:
Acer X203w monitor
Radeon 9600 Pro Video card
Linux Mint 8 (Helena)
Resolution 1680 x 1050 (16:10 - Preferred native resolution for the monitor)
Refresh Rate 60hz

[Code]...

I just had it happen again. I tried unplugging the DVI cable from the back of the computer and then plugging it back in. The monitor then displayed the desktop properly. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not in what I may need to change settings-wise.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Check If Display Device Is Connected?

Feb 10, 2010

I am trying to write a script to turn my HTPC off automatically and turn it back on again at a specified interval.

I've got the turn on off bit sorted using /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm but I want the script to not turn the machine off if say something is downloading, I am currently watching something etc and i dont think I will have any trouble with that.

But what I would really like to be able to do is tell if my TV is currently on. I dont think anything x11 related would work here and this may not even be possible. Does Ubuntu "know" if it's display device is powered on or not? if so can I interrogate this somehow?

Ubuntu :: Check Via Terminal If External Monitor Is Connected?

Apr 20, 2010

Ive been wondering about an alternative method for checking to see if an external monitor is connected.
Currently I am using:

Code:

EXTERN=VGA1
if $(xrandr --prop |grep -q "$EXTERN connected");then
echo -e "$(echo $EXTERN | tr -d [0-9]) is e[1;32mconnectede[0m"
else

[Code].....

So, what I am asking is, is there a way to ignore/over-ride compiz's texture size check, a different way to query xrandr, or is there a completely different method I can go about checking if an external monitor is connected?
