can we block email address in a way that a user cannot login into multiple systems simultaneously, so that if a user logs in into a system (with ip address 192.168.1.22)and if he tries to login to into another system at the same time(with ip address 10.0.0.5) his previous system(i.e 192.168.1.22) has to logout automatically. Is there any predefined scripts for this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA while back I installed Dreamlinux 3.5 Gnome edition using ext2. When I attempted to use the email address books I imported from the Dreamlinux3.5 XFCE edition, which had been ext3, I discovered that none of the email addresses could be mailed to. I had to manually type in the addresses.
When I reinstalled Dreamlinux 3.5 Gnome using ext3, the same backup files that did not work in ext2 now work just fine. The question is, was this a "broken data" problem caused by the switch to ext2 file system or something else? Has anyone else experienced this?
The mail program is Thunderbird.
I don't know what to do, I know how to block and delete pretty much every other type of abuse. I run a server with 500+ shared hosting clients and reseller clients and it was just blocked because of email spam. I can keep on top of all other abuse (people trying to do dos attacks etc) but the one thing I can't get my head around is email spamming. how to stop people spamming emails from my server?

If I do not do this, I will likely have to re-install the O.S numerous times due to changes in the database server o.s as well. The same question goes for the server; would it drastically effect the performance to install 3 server o.s on one server?

The new email server will replace the primary one.I would like to setup the new email server in parallel with the existing one.This way i can observe issues that might occur and be aware of what could go wrong. I want to received mail to be delivered to both mail servers at the same time.I would like to use postfix, exim i find a bit to difficult to understand.I have thought of using transport maps, the only problem is that you can only forward mail to one server at a time using transport maps.I think recipient_bcc_maps and sender_bcc_maps could work, i would just like ideas of how i can do this.

So I read up about masquerading [URL] and managed to get it to USERNAME@myisp.com however I want to change USERNAME to a different value because my ISP username is different from my machine username. My aim is just to get the from address to be [URL]. This machine is only used by me so I don't need it to be different for different users if that makes things any easier...?

a Netgear router with DHCP off at 192.168.0.1 my computer
eth0 at 192.168.0.2
wlan0 at 192.168.0.2
The wlan0 interface always connects to the router, while the eth0 interface connects to other computers with crossover and acts as a dnsmasq DHCP server for network boot and installation.
If I use the Gnome NetworkManager to enable both connections, that is, with wlan0 connected to the router/internet and eth0 to another computer, both as 192.168.0.2, I cannot access the internet while eth0 is connected.
Why is this? How can I configure my computer to follow wlan0 for Internet usage, but use eth0 for itself (the latter is working but blocking wlan0).
I am looking for a way via script to change a systems hostname and IP address!
View 1 Replies View Relatedso I get my t410 today. the hdd is 250g with three primary partitions: 1) 1.17g 2) 221g win7os and 3) recovery 9.7g. I plan to install a windows vista, opensuse 11.2 and fedora 12. I know first to shrink the partition to make room. but i still don't know exactly. say, i shrink win7os partition to 40g and create an extended partition of 221-40 =181g, and then add partiton /boot, /swap, /home, /... and a number of partitons for vista and a number of similar partitions for fedora. But I doubt I wouldn't be able to install vista when opensuse installation is done.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Fedora 14 in a dual boot with Windows 7 (Win 7 came preinstalled on my Vaio, I freed up 30 GB on a hard disk drive and installed Fedora in it).The first reboot took me straight to Windows. I could not find a way to get multiple Operating systems, so I tried looking on the net a bit, and installed EasyBCD. This gave me the option of choosing the boot up OS. But when I choose Fedora in the options, the screen changes to GRUB4DOS which lists Fedora and Other as my two boot options.Selecting either one of these options results in Error 22 No partition found.

You see the thing is that when I choose an operating system at the boot up, it lists all of the updates to ubuntu. so there are like 12 options to choose from besides windows XP and Ubuntu 9.10.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI manage a linux-based network, where some projects are currently under development. Our IT policy states that any email attachment shall be encrypted using GPG. Can I block other attachments using a firewall?
Note: Currently our mail server is not in campus. So I can only use a firewall for this security issue.
I run my own home server using OpenSuse 11.1, everything is setup using apache, php, etc etc, and it all works perfect, but now I need to use my own email server for the use of Dolphin social networking software, so that when someone registers, the email server sends out registration confirmation emails, so I set up postfix, yeah right!!!, even though I followed all instructions to set postfix as a closed relay, a test done at mxtoolbox site still said it was an open relay, but while I was trying to set up postfix, my access to the server slowed down, and my servers drive light was constantly active,,, so when I look at the mail queue, I saw 4000+ emails, all from japan, (hinen.net), so I promptly shut down postfix and use postsuper -d ALL in the command console to delete the queue, but no matter how I try, I couldn't configure postfix as a closed relay,,, so I uninstalled it and installed sendmail, and using webmin, I could use a spam list and block the domain, now, sendmail's test at mxtools show as a closed relay, I can't even send out a test email using smtp auth, but disabling auth, I can, but now my IP is blocked at spam cop, and spamhaus,,, gmail server say my IP is not authorized to send to their servers, but to use my ISP relay instead,,, but my ISP doesn't have a relay,,hence the need to run my own email server.
My home server uses double layer firewall, a hardware firewall between the internet and the server, and a software firewall on the server, and I only allow the ports I need, IE, 80 = http, 443 = https, 20/21 = ftp, 25 = smtp, 110 = pop3. and that's all, but any other internal access from my workstation to the server, using ssh, I only open the ports on the server firewall. If someone here has a great deal of knowledge on sendmail, and can set up a an M4 (linux.mc) config file for me, it would be much appreciated. What I would like my email server to do, is to only allow the sending of emails from inside it's own server system,, ie, when a php script sends an email to the server, then the email server would let it through, but anything else, outside the local network is ignored.
i am using centos 5.4, running squid for proxy, i want to block email sending and receiving of proxy users to secure my data. how is it possible that the proxy user can only brows websites but he can not receive or open and send or save as draft to mail box.
