General :: Script To Traverse Into Sub-directory And Replace Line Of File Inside Zip?

Aug 27, 2010

I can't get sed to actually change the file, clearly there's something basic not working, can anyone point me in the right direction? I know nothing about scripting. Oh yeah, all the directories have spaces which was why so elaborated.

find . -name "*epub" | while read file; do unzip -o "$file" content.opf && mv content.opf content.opf.bak && sed 's/<dc:language>UND</dc:language>/<dc:language xsi:type="dcterms:RFC4646">EN</dc:language>/' < content.opf.bak > content.opf && zip "$file" content.opf && rm -f content.* ; done

Ubuntu Servers :: Samba To Replace Windows File Server In Active Directory?

Jul 22, 2010

We have a couple of Windows file servers that just share files. It is all they do. We'd like to use Ubuntu on two replacement servers allowing Windows XP and Windows 7 clients to access the files. Our network is active directory based due to Exchange and homegrown .NET apps, so it is important that active directory is used to authenticate the clients. Samba doesn't need to be a pdc or bdc, but provide pass through authentication.I understand that Samba can communicate with active directory through security-ads and security-domain.

Here are my questions to see if I should proceed:1) Folder permissions:If we move all our files to the Ubuntu server how do we set folder permissions and will we see the active directory accounts when we do this?2) Skipping ubuntu accounts: I know the domain and ads allow you to skip creating ubuntu accounts, right? If not, how do you keep the passwords synchronized?3) Easiest way? Is there a very easy way to pull this off that I've missed? My goal is to eliminate the Windows based file servers while ensuring the admin part of it is as easy as possible.To date I've been able to get the sharing to work with an ubuntu account mirroring the active directory account. I've been able to get Samba to talk to the pdc, but not successfully through domain security. ADS security was a complete cluster with winbindd

General :: Replace Multiple Instances From X To Y In Line

Feb 1, 2010

I have a line of text with multiple web links in the line. I'd like to replace the actual links with the text "<web-link>" so I don't accidentally hit them while reading on my iphone. I've tried many versions of the following sed command, sed 's/(http.*)/<web_link>/g', but it simply replaces everything between the first instance of "(http" and the last instance of ")" with <web_link>, or does nothing at all.

Ex: This line has a link to a web page (http://www.webpage.com/file.html) then some more text (extra text) and then another link (http://www.nextwebpage.com.index.html) to a website.
$ echo "This line has a link to a web page (http://www.webpage.com/file.html) then some more text (extra text) and then another link (http://www.nextwebpage.com.index.html) to a website." | sed 's/(http.*)/<web_link>/g'

What I get is: This line has a link to a web page <web_link> to a website.
What I'd like is: This line has a link to a web page <web_link> then some more text (extra text) and then another link <web_link> to a website.
What am I doing wrong with my sed command?

I am working at a client who has a project where code is a mixture of different source control systems. So a layout might be like this

So I am trying to put together a simple command that when executed from the project folder will run the appropriate hg/svn command in each project i.e:

Since the client has many such projects, Instead I am looking for a solution similar to find -exec where the svn/hg commands are automatically executed on each first level of match (i.e. svn up is run in the project/a folder but not in project/a/subfolder). How can such a command be constructed ?.
